20:07 The difference between the two plays is the blocking. On the standard read option the linemen will block more horizontally and try to rip, creating space for the RB to run outside if he gets the ball, more like an outside zone. On the inside zone read option, they will block vertical, push defenders downfield and try to get a gap for the RB to run off the hip of the guard.

That’s definitely not always true. They won’t run commit but it absolutely can hold linebackers and keep safeties from getting deep.

@@awoody45 Nah they dont run commit what i meant is like obviousley the idea of a play action is to fake the run and pass. playing an opponent in online it works because then the user might chase the RB, but against the computer, especially heisman the computer just automatically knows it is a pass not run.

@@mlg6141 I think its a bit more true to life now. Play action doesn’t usually bust the defense wide open, but it gets you a leverage advantage. Try plays like PA Cross from Singleback Bunch X Nasty. That route combo mainly works if and when linebackers don’t get deep drops, which is what play action helps with. That’s also a money play even against the CPU.

@@mlg6141yea that happens a lot in my dynasty. No matter how many times I run the ball in row whenever I call a play action pass the d line will just ignore my RB and head straight to the QB. It’s gotten to the point where I just have my RB either block or just go out on a swing route

Also in "my gameplan" you can have plays selected for specific situations.. the higher star rating makes the play more likely to show up for that specific situation in the play call selection screen.. example, if you like rpos on 3rd nd short, list all the rpos you like running in 3rd and short situation..

Pulling guard plays are OP once you get a great one. They helped to create my Heisman RB but to each their own. One formation that IS VERY powerful is the Quad Bunch. It completely overloads a side that cannot be defended by zone defenses (something I've found happens WAY more than man imo). Its crazy good for people who struggle with scanning the field too because all your looks are on outside that one hash alone.

@@maxplayscfb haahah well you basically said it ... the key is a fast guard (which I know ONLY recruit tackles for that speed bonus). My 94 OVR LG has 88 speed and 91 acceleration as well as gold second level trait. Not saying you gotta add them now but once you finally get some fast guards in there, it'll open up the run game like you've never seen before

The shotgun duo formations are a staple of the current UNLV teams. They do a lot of 2HB formations and feature a lot of QB running as well.

Yeah I think there are 2 problems with lead blockers in this game: 1. They move so much slower than the runner that they genuinely get in the way 2. Even when they don’t get in the way, they often miss blocks entirely

This was great! I spent an hour making a customer air raid playbook and realized that I can’t control how it’s organized in game. Ended up abandoning it. If you can manage to keep track of everything then you’ll be cooking!

Great video! Custom playbooks are a lot of fun. I wish they showed personnel when looking at "All Plays" view (you have to look at it in "My Gameplan" to see what actual position is where). For example: in Split Z Plus, that is the WR standing behind the QB, some of the split formations use as an FB instead of 2 RBs, and some of the empty sets are actually 11 personnel. Also, "Duo" sets are Go Go from UNLV playbook. PS - Both Play Action and Pull Blocking both seem *very* dependent on the corresponding Physical Abilities of your offensive lineman

Note: You should try and drop the amount of plays to around 250-300. and the Formations to around 20. In my personal experience you will prob get a lot of delay of games trying to find a play you want unless you are just going off of coach suggestions. What I do is I normally have a solid locked in 18 formations and I have 1 slot for experimental stuff I want to try out for a few games. If I like it then I will remove another formation to get me down to a reasonable amount of formations. Best thing to do is about once a week go into the playbook and scrub the fluff so the playbook is more streamlined. Hope this helps! and Good Luck!

@@maxplayscfbyea the more games you play the more you will know what works and dosent. Develop your playstyle and narrow down what concepts you like to run and start trimming the fat. I like adding and subtracting formations to keep the playbook fresh. Also focus on personnel groups. For example you like 4 wr sets so narrow it down to maybe 8-10 wr sets, all your audibles can cycle thru all the formations with the same personnel. Having to many formations makes that hard to find the audible you want. With this in mind you I would diversify your audibles. This can help you speed up playcalling. As long as you just pick a dummy play in your preferred personnel grouping you know you can audible to the play you want quickly when you see the defense.

Love this video! BTW, shotgun wide stack formation with four verticals is an absolute cheat code for 💣's down the field (typically right side of the field). I only use it when I absolutely need it because it's so successful (on Heisman). Magwood will have a field day!

It looks crazy, and you can hardly see the receivers, but if you see the safety come down and if the GO receiver has a step on the DB, lob that sucker and high-step your way into the endzone! It works probably 80% to 90% of the time, which is why I only use it when I absolutely need it lol

Custom playbooks seems a little too overwhelming for me. Maybe one of these days I'll make one when I'm more confident in building a playbook. It is interesting to see all the different plays. Haven't seen a lot of these even after doing like a half dozen dynasties

I’m 9 minutes in so I’m not sure if you did this or not: I just edited my playbook to have sister formations to audible and shift in and out of. For instance if you have the Ace Gun formation and you feel like you lack run flexibility you can add Ace or Deuce Singleback for plays like stretch and the QB will shift seamlessly under center when audibled and vice versa.

Goal line is a pointless playbook. It's all runs so using it against another player they are going to know you are running. There are plenty of books that stack the LOS and have way more options for running as well as passing.
