@CertifiedDoc The UK/Clive Anderson show had the first two series (or seasons for us yankees) put out on DVD by A&E. Meanwhile, the first US/Drew Carey hosted season from ABC was released in two parts on DVD. I don't know of any other home releases besides these.

This is so inspiring! While I am nowhere near his level and I don't know if I'd ever actually want to be on television, I recently decided to say f' it, about my age and feeling like I missed out and started to go for things I enjoy. I recently landed a local, improv heavy acting sidegig. I'm so happy and blown away that I get to get paid to do something that is so fun and brings me so much joy.

I've been watching Whose Line since I was 15 when it was on ABC. And since then, I've seen Colin, Brad, Ryan, Jeff, Chip, Greg live various times and I've even met Ryan, Chip, and Jeff. Nice and funny guys. Always a treat when I go see them. They are comedy gems. Each and every one of them.

I went and saw them at "a night of improv" similar to whose line but no drew carey or Wayne Brady... colin signed autographs and hung out with fans afterwards, greg proops and a few others as well. But Ryan styles did not... i dont know if that was the usual but i love colin all the more for being there

More like Colin was on Whose Line with Sandi. The earliest shows featured Sandi as a regular and Colin and Ryan came along later. The early shows are unrecognizable and didn't become the show we know until they changed the lineup to Ryan, Colin, Tony Slattery, Greg Proops, Stephen Frost and Josie Lawrence. The UK one from around season 5 onwards was great; Tony Slattery was hilarious as well.

I remember a very early episode of Whose Line where Ryan also didn't seem to know what he was doing. I don't think he got a single laugh. Hence, it kinda irks me whenever I see comments about how unfunny a one-time guest was.

Exactly. Kathy Griffin, who I admit to not liking in any other context, was pretty good on it, despite what people say. Improv is a lot harder than it looks, its only the really good ones who make it look easy, and the regular line up with Ryan, Colin, Wayne and Greg make it look effortless.

Sandi was a regular on the very, very early UK episodes, before even Ryan and Colin were regulars. It used to be John Sessions, Paul Merton, Griff Rhys Jones and Tony Slattery. Then Tony became the main regular rotating guest along with Stephen Frost, Greg Proops and Josie Lawrence, with Ryan and Colin being the main contestants.

I am just now finding this out, I've never seen much of Whose line is it but I've seen a few over the years, I can't realy remember. God yes we had channels showing mostly american shows when we got Freeview for the first time going digital in the transitionary period. God I forgot about all that, ABC is the only 1 I can recall atm but there were a few, hah, Tool Time, 8 Simple Rules, hah, wow that feels so long ago now.

Greg was great on the UK one, and was definitely on it a lot more than the US version. A game they used to do a lot was Fixed Expressions, and his angry face going to Disneyland character was very funny. He was also the best guesser at Part Quirks and very funny at Film Dub. Brad used to have his own solo game a lot where he would have to make up a song about a member of the audience, which I think he did on the US version as well.

Colin could be hit and miss, but my god, when he hit, he HIT. Wayne Brady and a lot of the others were quick and consistently funny, but EVERY SINGLE TIME the show made me laugh so hard I cried, It was because of Colin. He was a much bigger gun than he appeared to be.
