He obviously doesn't realise Great White can hunt in both cold and warm waters .One of the few sharks that can become warm blooded to attack in cold waters.

Aww man I’ve seen his story a FEW TIMES! How crazy right? There’s another guy in Oregon that was BIT TWICE by a Great White Shark BOTH TIMES separately. Crazy stuff. Glory to God he’s alive!

His life and career changed that day. He retired 3 years later.... Another surfer Shannon Ainslie from south africa was attacked by 2 sharks at the same time at a different event.... he became an arctic surfer after that coz there are no shark risk in the arctic...

Surfers are brave. I dont go in that water because too many dangerous things that you cant see until it is to late Sting rays, sharks, whales, jelly fish. I only swim in a pool.

@@-Jynx- yeah but I don’t see why OP didn’t just include it in the vid. That’s probably 90% of the reason why people clicked the vid

I accidentally swam with killer whales in an abandoned very deep coast water with no one around for hundreds of miles off coast of Baja California near San Quentin. They went into an absolute sht wreck of a feeding frenzy chasing the Blk seals onto the shore, I’m blessed to even tell the story

no there's definitely information missing here. a) sharks don't attack. they bite. b) that bite is way, WAY too small to be an adult great white. It was either a baby, or a different species. c) if it "grabbed [his] hand and pulled [him] underwater" and the limb was still attached, that was not an adult great white. d) great whites are solitary animals and only get together during the breeding season, and if this is a great white it's far too small to breed. I understand that shock and trauma are insane things but I expect the actual reporters to do maybe an ounce of research on a story. Additionally, sharks are not "bad" or "evil" animals like the media wants us all to believe. Most "attacks" are people behaving irrationally (after not learning shark safety) and eliciting a prey response from the shark. Sharks don't have hands and therefore their sense of touch entirely revolves around their mouths, If they believe something may be prey they might put their mouth on it in a mostly harmless way, then leave. But if you panic and move away sharks instinctively go after you because they believe that you're prey, and that's when they bite. If you're interacting with water where sharks may be, learn shark safety. If you're a reporter attempting to pto poststory, do some research. Sharks are not evil and violent killers, and the media needs to stop portraying them as such. Stop demonizing animals for natural behaviors.

In South Africa, we do keep official logs of the incidents, they are relatively complete. B:)There were 2 Great Whites sharks involved in this attack, both of them were approximately 2.5 meters in length, which would mean they are not fully matured great whites.if they are male they would still be a good meter away from the beginning of maturity, if female they were about 2 meters away from maturity.i would not say juvenile but rather not fully matured. C:)It dragged him under with his board, his fingers got sliced in the process. D:)Usually yes, along the East Coast of SA from say Port Alfred up to and past Mdumbi, they have been many sighting where GW have been spotted in tandem (perhaps new development). it is likely as you pointed out, they are younger and thus learning to hunt still. The relative institutions do what they can under the circumstances to record as accurately as possible. The theory is with the over trawling of the chinese, that that had a part to play in the attacks as well as the Port st Johns attack spree. Nahoon however has always been a GW attraction point. All your other points are spot on, humans have done far more damage to sharks and their environment and i think alot of the "attacks"are due to habitats been destroyed. If you still interested I can see if I still have this particular report.
