The Fragrance Apprentice

Күн бұрын

If you want to submit to the fragrance apprentice PayPal and keep these types of videos flowing, you can donate right here: paypal.me/fragranceapprentice...
This video was a big challenge to complete, it was made possible by those who donated to the PayPal, I felt that Frag Com had become too fast, with turbo top 10s and the 50 Fragrances fad that I myself had actually created, if things are too fast you can't actually get any meaning out of the content and the point of the Fragrance journey becomes lost. Fragrance can be for some such as myself, a great form of self expression and a sensory journal of experiences.
I felt that the never ending sea of Top 10s was becoming too much and too fast for anything to actually mean anything anymore, so my plan was to create a little film about that. Shot over 1 week with a small crew a 4K RAW Cinema camera and a few soft light boxes and electric generator. this was a great challenge but one I was excited to finally do, I hope you enjoy the 5 separate stories of these Fragrances and get something more than just Fragrance recommendations from it.
0:00 Intro
3:40 Christian Dior - Homme (Original)
19:52 Emporio Armani - Stronger With You Intensely
25:18 Arquiste - Misfit
35:23 Tom Ford - Ombre Leather
40:32 Galleria Parfums - Victorian Tobacco

Great to see you Peter. I want to buy one fragrance of yours. I love amber, oud, myrrhe vanilla coffe notes like that which one would you recommed for me? And a nother thing i would love to see a clear glas bottle someday in future because i love the design of your bottles but if there was even some with clear glas that would be awsome man

Normally I may sit down with my wife to watch I dunno grand designs or 2 episodes of whatever fletnix series she would like me to watch with her…but not tonight…tonight I have George….just lately I’ve felt a bit isolated on my fragrance journey and wish I had some face to face fellowship around fragrance…the authenticity of this content just makes me feel a little less nuts for this passion and a bit less melancholic….u de man George, thank you and big lv X

You really inspire us all, George. Your humor and humanity are real things in this fake-ass world. I am working on getting my sense of smell back after having C O V I D in May. It's getting a little better every day but still quite frustrating as I can only smell bottom notes. I cannot wait to experience memory through scent again. Thanks for your story :)

Wow Katie, losing my smell would devastate me. The humans who live most especially through their sense of smell are a small but intense and unusual group of people, I find it fascinating. It really is a brain-wiring thing. I thought everybody was like this, but as I grew older I realised it was almost a gift (a bit like how some people are just born musical or athletic or great at math; there's just a certain filter they understand and are able to live through which other people will just not relate to). I really hope you totally get your smell back; have you kept a journal?! That would make a terrific niche blog which would DEFINITELY find its audience. If you published it too, likewise. I'm slinging positive vibes your way, like javelin throwing, from here in England to wherever you are on the globe. 👃🙏🗺

This happened to me from Jan 2021 to March 2021, I lost my sense of smell and taste initially, taste came back quicker. It was a very difficult time for me personally, but thankfully my sense of smell has come back now. My olfactory sense had to be retrained though, smelling some of my perfumes after it came back felt like it was the first time ever I had smelled such notes. I spoke to a doctor who is a fragrance enthusiast, and he mentioned to start with gentle notes such as sandalwood, and take my time. Wish you the best

Confidence is a great thing - we all need it to some degree, but to be allowed to see the man beneath the Fragrance Apprentice, shows more confidence than KZbin bluster. I think many - whilst not in the same circumstance - will have doubted themselves, found themselves bowed by fear and, possibly, self loathing - to see your story of recovery told with frank and modest self-reflection and calm - is - in its own way as reinforcing as anything in a bottle. Great video, George. You and a few others turned me on to scent at the age of 60 - and now - a part of your fave city is regularly awash with all manner of stuff. It has enhanced my world - and your video today will have done that for many a following fragrance fan. Best of wishes.

This resonated with me as very few videos have done. There are those moments when you catch a wiff of something, og hear a certain sound, which brings you back some place or some time long gone. This nostalgic feeling is both strange and yet touching in a way. What started my fragrance journey is the smell of Chanel Platinum Egoiste which is my fathers favorite fragrance. It theows me back to when i was a kid waiting for him to come home from work, it is a scent that i associate with the easy and carefree life of a child. Today i own a bottle of Platinum Egoiste which i rarely ever wear. I absolutely love the scent, but it is so special to me that i never wish to ruin it by getting used to it. But on the days when i feel anxious or stressed, when i feel the harsh reality of «grown up life» i go back to my perfume shelf and spray it, and it brings me back and calms me down. Thank you, George, for this amazing video, this is probably the easiest subscribe button i ever pressed.

👊👍 Loved this man. That first part ,bruv, I know exactly how that feels and you put into words the fears n feelings I've not allowed myself to even talk about let alone share with the world. Well done George and I truly hope you're feeling better now.

The intro content in itself is the reason I watch this channel. Thank you for putting so much effort into it. What a niche fragrance reviewer.

I agree. So nice for fragrance reviewers to show that they're actually creative, inspired people instead of goofy, creepy little bedroom-trapped hustlers. I loved the cinematography, the 'walking tour' atmosphere and info, the humour, the intimacy...he's doing what nobody else is and it baffles me why he's in a minority of one here. I'm here for it though, just like you. 😄

@@ciganyweaverandherperiwink6293 Possibly because of the effort George puts into his videos. I am glad no one else does videos like George. They'd only be weaker versions of the original!

@@RichardOliver What loyalty! Terrific. And I know what you mean: there's always a maverick who dares to take the rough with the smooth when breaking new ground. The imitators may come along like little sheep-rat hybrids but we'll always remember The Original. 🏆
