This is a project car build , and the more stuff that needs to fixed the better the content and knowledge you will learn from fixing and sourcing parts. I think this is a good step for a "project car". The brokenness and sweat and time is what makes it special for you and I think the content could be extensive for us and you. Don't feel overwhelmed by a project car. It's one of the reasons why people abandon them. I would pay at least 1k-1.2k.

One thing for project cars I've learned is budget.. BUDGET IS KEY. Write down what you would like to do, such as turbo, new seats., ect. and write down what it may need. Such as bushing, tires, ect. And the cost of the parts and potentially the work if you are not doing it yourself. Project cars are super fun but I've learned to prioritize the essentials first and then add modifications to it. Good luck and keep up the videos!

Don’t give up my man keep looking since I’m sure there’s lower mileage ones with less demanding and cheaper required fixes to start a project even tho I know it’s hard not to jump on the price think a little bit down the road about maintaining that just to keep it driveable you won’t regret being patient and getting a more budget friendly long term vehicle for your project.

If you get the car for $1500 or less then it's a decent deal. The bushings on all the mounts are probably shot. The engine mount bushing, control arm bushings etc. That's the vibrating your hearing that's a $500+ job. Also you should check the control arms and axles for rust cause those will be your most expensive to replace. They rust out really easy on rsx and Integra. The real thing to do with this would be get a k20az3 head for hella cheap and some afe pistons and rods. Ultimately putting it on a k24 bottom block.

You have a beautiful young lady by your side that truly cares for you. Trust me when I say she's a keeper as she allows you to pursue your passions. Pretty rare in today's world. I know you have a successful you tube channel but the bigger picture is you really need a house with a garage. I would be saving up for this and continue with your channel. I know you're afraid people will lose interest if you don't have good content but the content doesn't have to be about you or belong to you. Cover some of your friends vehicles and document their upgrades etc...Cover car shows, befriend someone with a garage or lift that can help you while you save up. The house and garage will allow you to work on projects, raise a family (if that is a goal) and increase your capabilities with your channel. I'm just looking at the big picture my man, something you may have to take a hit on for the time being but will pay dividends in the long run. Best of luck to you sir.

TSX wheels, the black is definitely oil, for type a check the RPM range, and check if it's got 6 gears which ofcourse wont always be a factor because anyone could swap it. That is a ton of miles, now the only way this build would work, is swapping it to a k24 right away including the trans, sell this K foe cheap (like 500) somone will buy it for a civic swap and rebuild it. A k24 swap will run you about 1800 with trans and everything, maybe 2k if you decide to get kpro which I would actually recommend, the body doesnt Mater if it has 280k or 600k itll still look the same, needs paint anyways and you'll be changing the seats which stock will run you about 400+ or aftermarket if youd like of course. Definitely the move for a project if you have the money and time...if you planned on doing the same k20a2 build then forget it lol, they run about 1,300 with lower miles and the trans about 700 or so. Just about the same as the k24 swap only reference is the k24 you'll find easier with less miles, and it'll shoot up the value a little bit for resale, plus power 🤷🏽♂️...down side is the rev range, but if you throw a k20a2 head you'll be hitting 8,500k again instead of the 7k ish for the stock k24 head. Hope this helped...its lengthy but this is my best advice, I personally own a 2002 type s, shes got 196k and shes running strong still.

Honestly where I live that thing would still go for $1500. Like u said replacing all those parts is cheap and easy. Just a bit time consuming. At least the body looked super clean in terms of rust. Maybe look at the previous Generation integra's as well.

Hey, my name is Rudy and I live in Cali! I have a 2004 Acura rsx with 147,000. Its stock but as a project car it would for sure be worth looking at! Lemme know if you want me contact info and I can send pics. I can say I definitely keep my car very well maintained

hey man, is it the Type S?

The car runs for $800 or less is a plus. If you are looking for a cheap project car then you should get it. If you worried about money, time, and work, then get some one else's completed project car. Get the car, drive, maintain, and add as you go. Swap to a K24 and swapping parts won't hurt to throw out since they really don't have value. Also, listen to your girl. She sees it as a competition. She is worried about her time. You already have a nice car. Just upgrade to a type R. For the 1st time we have the type R and you got the si. I think God sent you that girl to think for you.

I wouldnt buy it. Even for a project car, you will spend a lot of moneys on repairs to make it ride good. For me its a no go. That car needs a lot of love.

To be honest don’t spent ur money on a project car..... with all that money that u hav to put on u could buy a type r lol just buy a type r trust me

Body work and paint isn’t cheap and even more time consuming depending on what needs to be done. Definitely find something with a clean body. These engines are not hard to pull. Days worth of work you can get one out and another back in easy.

You should look at a 350z. Those in running condition with minor cosmetic issues can go for like 4-5k for a early model.

If you can snag it for cheap grab it the K20’s is a solid motor to work on and play with.

As an rsx owner I would pass on this one $1800 is too much for it, it might be worth $800. The rattling might be a bad motor mount. By the looks of it, it has the k20a2. I would definitely hold out on this one and look at another one.

It looked like it needed a tune up. Spark plugs, and filters would probably make a quick difference. Offer $1500 and it will be a steal. Don't worry about the engine miles. Trust me.

Lol mine is on 250k, bolton and reflash, still pulls like a champ and hurting egos.

Whenever you buy a beater like this you are going to need to do spark plugs, air filter, pads and rotors, and flush all the fluids with OEM stuff from the dealer. It isn't going to need a new engine anytime soon and little things like motor mounts and fixing the heat shield are not a big deal. The paint job is gonna cost you a few grand so that's the biggest thing to think about.

Great video. That car is faster than your civic. 0 to 60 in 6 seconds. Not with 3 people. I'm sure you are close to 200lbs. If you added K tuner that you need for bolts on and turbo. It will smoke the turbo cobalt. Now you going to the drag strip at nights.
@motorminds48034 жыл бұрын
also 1800 is a set of decent rims, and compared to most inflated prices for the type s like 6+ is way to expensive when we all know 9/10 of them have gotten all the sauce
@rjayesperon29244 жыл бұрын
that’s a no from me bro, too much body work to be done and engine has mad miles. if one of them could be used then maybe. i’m sure there are a bunch of better deals in cali (looking at the license plate)
@andrewdero62714 жыл бұрын
For 1800 is bit much with that kind of exterior color and current look if its a blue or black or white types with a decent paint condition with 200k miles i think its just about right with lil bit of tlc

That’s how slow they feel stock form bro. Just get yourself a cold air intake, race header and a catback and I promise you it’s gonna feel different, then once you get all that if you wanna get a lil more power you can send your ecu to hondata and get a reflash. It’ll wake it up and make it so much more fun
