My experience with McDonalds is their charity Ronald McDonald House. If it wasn’t for them I would have slept by the side of my daughters bed in a small chair at the paediatric intensive care unit which was three hour journey away from my home. We got to stay in a Ronald McDonald House across the road from the hospital. You give the ward the room number your in & they can contact you if needed straight to a landline phone in your room. They had a kitchen & locked cupboard for you to keep your food in so you don’t have to rely on take out all the time. There was a laundry room as well you could use. It was amazing. I would stay with my daughter until 2-3am & would be back after 3-4 hours of sleep. So for everyone who donates to this charity when they get some food THANK YOU.

@@BSWVI it really was. I had no idea what I would have done without them. I couldn’t afford the daily travel costs, not that I would have allowed myself to be so far away from my baby. But the costs of overnight accommodation would have been too much as well. Years have passed since then & when ever I fancy some ice cream, milkshake or hot drink, if there is a McDonalds near by I will go there & leave a donation as I know that I will be helping other families.

So happy for you to have this experience. Meanwhile here in Europe, they have sofas in the hospital rooms of really young and ready sick kids, so the parent can sleep next to their kid. They would also bring you a bed-situation, if need be. So donations can be used on other things. America is really not treating humans like humans. Trying to imagine the response a hospital official would give to me, if I was to demand and answer to this. Why is hospital policy keeping a helpless sick child away from their parents? How did this become policy?

As someone who has worked off and on at McDonald's for many many years, I can say with certainty that the hard thing in the Egg McMuffin was most likely a piece of the shell from the egg. The round eggs are the only ones that are made fresh there. Also, best time to get the pies is?as early as possible. Or they can be sitting out for up to 4 hours (longer if the employees aren't following the rules).

As someone who also grew up in Canada, I don't remember McDonalds ever having biscuits. I do remember the Egg McMuffins, and the other breakfast stuff they had, though. I haven't gotten McDonalds in Canada for a while now (I live in the States now, too), so I don't know what all they have now, but I also remember Canadian McDonald's having pizzas (which weren't bad....), and they had horrible poutine! It was made totally wrong! XD Back in the 90s, we had shaker fries, where you'd get your size of fries, a pack of dried seasoning, and a bag. You'd put the fries into the bag, with the seasoning, and shake it (hence the name!), and I used to LOVE those! They got rid of them after a while, so I don't know if they ever made a comeback or not.

These are different apple pies than when we grew up. In 1992, they switched from deep fried to baked, then in 2018 they did an (amazing) overhaul of the pies and improved them drastically. :) fun bit of detail you never knew you needed 😂

Me and my little sister love Taco Bell and get it often, but we almost always order the same thing lol. We get the online exclusive (through the app) “Build Your Own Cravings Box.” Sometimes we switch a few things, however the OG Order is: 1. Specialty… Cheesy Gordita Crunch 2. Classic… Beefy 5-Layer Burrito 3. Side… Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes (We like to add a sauce or two of our preference and shake it before eating, which is the best way.) 4. Taco Bell is my favorite. My go to is the Mexican Pizza meal with the soft shell tacos supreme (trust me when I say this part is a dead giveaway for the quality of the restaurant) and cinnamon twists for dessert. I usually do whichever flavor brisk they have. My favorite is the dragon paradise but I also enjoy the mango flavor. If you’re going to be doing the breakfast menu, the Steak Grande Toasted Breakfast Burrito with sour cream and creamy jalapeño sauce is a good choice. Breakfast dessert would be the Cinnabon delights and the Cinnabon coffee for a drink. The side would obviously be hash browns if they still have them. I work nights, so my breakfast menu might be out of date.

The perfect test for a taco bell is as follows. A mexican pizza, a cheesy gordita crunch, feista potato bowl, and cinnamon twists. If you can get a mexican pizza that doesn't have its toppings stuck to the top of the container, it is for sure a 5 star location. The cheesy gordita crunch should have an inner hard shell that is not shattered into thousands of shards. The feista potato bowl can be the perfect ratio of cheese and sour cream or just a mess altogether. Finally the cinnamon twists should be crispy and airy but not hard.

The closest McDs to me is probably the worst I've ever been to. Chicken nuggets are always cold and soggy, the burgers constantly missing ingredients or piled with ridiculous amounts of condiments, and the fries are frequently unsalted and stale. Recently I went to a McDs in an area further away from me and had a fantastic experience. It was shocking bc I really thought McDs as a whole was just giving up. 😅😅😅

One thing about fries it doesn’t take very long for fries to cool. Fries take a minute to cool to the point where you can eat them without burning your mouth and 5-7 minutes to get cold. Fries are one of the foods that exposed to the cooler air from the heating source will cool instantly.

To be fair, your burgers and fries are SO MUCH BETTER. I had a burger during a layover in Toronto and you could even see the spices on the meat! And it was actually meat! Best McDonald's I've ever had
