@Cassandra Bankson Thank you so much for creating this video ! Can't wait to see more SPF recommendations since summer is around the corner! Can you please recommend more sunscreens that are easy around the eyes that are hydrating, moisturizing, and leaves no cast? I have very sensitive eyes and find that most sunscreens makes my eye water when I apply it too close to my eyes, which ends up washing off the sunscreen. Most mineral sunscreens are easy around my eyes, but it's wayyyy to pasty. What are your thoughts on EltaMD UV Elements SPF that Dr.Dray recommended for people with more dry skin types? BTW..I tried the Isntree Hyaluronic Watery Sun Gel SPF PA 50++++ (based on your recommendation) and love it as an at home sunscreen. It's super easy around the eyes and makes my skin so dewy. I decided to give it a try out in the sun. I reapplied every two hours with the two finger rule and I noticed later that evening when I washed my face, part of my face was red. For this reason, I suspect the SPF rating might not be accurate. Or there may be a possibility that I didn't apply enough SPF on that particular area. I would love to know if you have used this sunscreen out in the sun and experienced a burn with consistent reapplication.

I'm very fair with dry skin. I prefer tinted sunscreens so I can get those iron oxides for extra protection. My favorite daily sunscreen is the Murad City Skin Age Defense SPF 50 PA ++++. Very light peach tint that absorbs so nicely. The cons are that it is expensive and not water resistant. I use it daily as my base layer of sunscreen then add a layer of the Cotz Face Moisture lightly tinted sunscreen SPF 35 which is less expensive and water resistant for 40 min. This ensures I don't have any skip areas. The cons for the Cotz is that it's only SPF 35 and isn't water resistant enough for outdoor activities in my opinion. For the pool, beach, running, etc I use the Australian Gold tinted mineral sunscreen SPF 50 since its water resistant for 80 min. It's too dark and drying for me for all day use but for a couple hours outside it's the best I can find at this time.

I totally agree! I think that sunscreens should be like foundation with many different shades. Although I'm on the other side (super pale) I can't find a sunscreen that matches my shade either. My skin already looks like a pink miss piggy I don't need any more of that. Where we are with sunscreens rn reminds of where we were with foundation when I was a teen. The only thing I can recommend is to get a whatever tint 50spf sunscreen and mix it with your actual foundation (or a shade darker) to make custom. That will dilute the sunscreen but it will still be acceptable if you use spf 50. That's what I do - it's not perfect but what is 🤷🏼♀️

Is it the liquid one? I love it so much! Maybe the best drugstore mineral sunscreen I’ve ever used. (Runner-up would be Neutrogena Sensitive Skin Liquid spf 50.) Price is great too for $11. If you know the Colorescience Total Face Shield, it has exactly that feel and consistency to me. Doesn’t dry you out at all, but it doesn’t stay tacky/sticky. However, I respectfully disagree on the not having a white cast. It def leaves one - and I’m on the fair side - if you apply the full 1/4 tsp. But I just let it dry and use a bit of tinted spf over top, so the cast is not an issue for me personally. (And if you use it as a reapplying layer, it’s amazing over a tinted I apply first thing. Then, I do have no white cast.)

It's been great for my skin in that it doesn't make me feel oily or breal me out. However it is fairly sparkly and has strong red undertones. Would not recommend if you have yellow/olive/cool/neutral undertones to your skin- this will make you red!

I have a super sensitive skin that clogs pores so quickly. I stubbled upon a suncreen from a canadian brand " Attitude" and they have a tinted sunscreen stick that isn't too dark for me & does NOT BREAK ME OUT. which absolutely surprises me as it;s main ingredient is coconut oil. Anyway, I am super impressed.

Fitzpatrick 4/5 here! Started using Pipette's mineral sunscreen spf 50 at Dr. Alexis Stephen's recommendation and though it takes a few minutes and a bit of elbow grease, it does mostly dissappear into the skin! She has a video where she demos this. I love it, I do use a tinted moisturizer on top to mask any leftover cast but it is really minimal if any. It's an amazing dupe for the Biossance one!

I second what the other commenter said. I just use the un-tinted sunscreens. If you are Fitzpatrick I the whiteness of the product is usually non-issue. lol Pigment is added to help with the ghostly-cast on people with darker skin. It's not meant to be foundation/makeup.

Def the Elta uv physical. I can wear it w the full 1/4 tsp w only a tiny line of demarcation on the jaw. I call it the tinted sunscreen for fair folks. A solution if it’s still to dark is to white cast mineral spf as first layer, then go in the Uv physical to cancel it out

To me, the biggest problem with mineral sunscreen is not the white cast. It simply dries my skin out so much and clogs the pores to a point my skin starts breaking out. Even the most hydrating mineral sunscreens the same effect on me.

Yesss make: prem! I'm using one of their sunscreens too, it's called the "daily sun fluid" (it comes in the same tube but has a light blue cap). Not only does it come in a big bottle and has a great price, it's a combination sunscreen which doesn't burn my eyes! 🙏It can leave a whitecast if you apply too much at once, so I do one thinner coat, let it sit for 20 secs and then do one more. Also I don't have to use moisturizer underneath (in the morning), it leaves my skin moisturized and glass looking. I freaking love it. FYI I'm Fitzpatricktype 3 with oily/combination skin.

@@mohdkhairul5656 unfortunately make p:rem didn't do the testing, they just quietly discontinued ALL of their sunscreens made a bunch of new ones. The new sunscreen in bigger bottle they have now, has titanium dioxide with uvinul a plus and some other 2 chemical UVB filters. You can see this on their official website, but also even yes style doesn't sell the old mineral sunscreen anymore. By the way, their new formulation fully mineral sunscreeen (calamine face tone up or something) was tested a couple of week backs independently and PASSED the test,. Ironically, it has double or triple the white cast compared to their previous mineral sunscreens. I still got two bottles of the old sunscreen, I will just use it when indoors or something. Things I’ve tried (in case it can help anyone): -Sephora by avasol spf 30 tinted mineral sunscreen Not even sold anymore 😂 bc it was awful. Super greasy & clumpy -Supergoop Mineral Matte Screen spf 40 Made me look dingy, but might be worth a try if you wear makeup -Supergoop mineral sheer screen spf 30 Gone through at least 3 bottles, but it’s a bit too greasy. Don’t think it’d work very well under makeup. It’s good for a yard work day. Kind of an “it’ll do” option. -Supergoop Play mineral lotion spf 30 Even greasier than the mineral sheer screen. Yea, I tried it on my face, I wanted it to work bc of the $/ounce, but naw lol -ShiSeido ultimate sun protection lotion spf 50 for sensitive skin and children Most recent purchase. It’s not greasy at all, which is great, but there def is a white cast. No amount of rubbing is gonna change that. Was gonna exchange & give their chemical formula a try, bc I do really like the consistency, but then I saw this video, so now I’m gonna try more mineral ones. -Neutrogena sheer zinc mineral sunscreen spf 50 Horrendous, don’t waste your $16. So sticky that it literally hurt to rub on.
