I haven't actually started watching this video specifically but I had to say something. You know, I'm a guy that decided to recently get into skincare and the existence of your channel is such a relief beyond words. I have no one to talk to about this and yes, there are a lot of very informative youtubers and I don't necessarily mind doing that research, but all they talk about is benefits and it gets overwhelming. I can't use 10 products a day. The option for more simple stuff would be the "men's skincare brands" but they all sound like one size fits all marketing bs. I stumbled upon your channel when I was searching for european sunscreens cause none of the US seemed available here (you did a video about that two years ago) and boy, am I glad I did. You bring to this whole thing a very down-to-earth, genuine and professional approach and you are not afraid to say something is unnecessary. That was so big for me that I just had to write something to say thank you. So thank you.

Same! The Physical is the ONLY tinted option that isn’t orangey on my skin. I combine it w the EltaMD UV Restore (no tint) all winter & it’s a great combo since the Restore is so moisturizing. I don’t get any white cast from using the Restore solo though.

Vitamin C in sunscreens is one of my pet peeves. I have a sensitivity to Vitamin C, and it’s annoying to not be able to use a sunscreen because sunscreens are not effective enough delivering the vitamin c to provide the benefits of the vitamin c, but are *just* effective enough to trigger my sensitivity.

Eltamd Elements tinted is my HOLY GRAIL! Once I discovered it 2 years ago, there was no looking back. I have medium skin tone and mature, dry skin. It is moisturizing, the color of the tint is just perfect, and it doesn't sink into fine lines, wrinkles or pores that we "wiser" people possess ;) . Can't recommend it enough!!! Happy Memorial Day weekend dear Dr. Dray and everyone 😘 ❤

I’m white very fair skinned and my husband is Fijian with a darker skin and we both having been using EltaMD clear and daily for many years. Myself over 10 365/days/year over probably over 15 years. My husband 5 years six months out of every year he’s wearing it daily. I prefer the clear only because I find it goes under makeup better and I put it right up under my eyes and on lids all the way to lashes and zero running into eyes and zero issues with my concealer and my dark circles I use a good concealer as well. I have sensitive skin and I haven’t found any other brand of sunscreen that I can use at all. I have no idea what magic EltaMD uses in their products but it’s 100% different than every single other brand. My husband like the Daily better then the Clear because he doesn’t use a moisturizer under it like I do. I have obviously my entire routine day and night. He’s only got a night routine and his morning is only EltaMD daily. It’s pretty magical that he’s such a deeper skin tone as me being so fair and pale and we both live the same sunscreen. For him he doesn’t mind other brands for sunscreen as far as his skin tolerates it fine but the only problem is other brands run into his eyes and burn badly also he gets horrible white cast. Even when brands claim no white cast. It’s because his skin is the deeper Fijian skin. That’s why EltaMD is so magical for him as well. Right up under his eyes and on his lids to lashes and no running no burning eyes and zero white cast. We still use each others and we just prefer the daily or clear on very VERY minimal differences ❤😂❤ I hope that helps anyone with similar concerns ❤ I also have rosacea eczema but I don’t deal with any flair ups due to using good products. Husband has no issues with his skin since he has access to my products lol he used to have massive blackheads you could see across the room. 13 years later and his pores never clog and he thinks his skin has changed, however I know it’s due to the high acids of mine he uses regularly 😂 that’s the reason why I’ve made him use sunscreen but obviously he doesn’t remember or realize what’s been helping his skin issues over time. Now he has glowing baby soft skin that looks even better than mine does!! ❤

Love the UV Clear untinted it’s a lot like DRMTLGY, I don’t find it drying and you can get your hairline and eyebrows without a white caste or tint. I really really don’t like the UVRestore untinted. It leaves little white dots in pores and is a bit stingy, maybe the ginger root. Don’t waste $$ on that one IMO.

Speaking from someone who is SUPER sensitive to ingredients like essential oils, fragrance, coco bet, and vitamin C, I appreciate you saying that. I was looking for a nice tinted sunscreen and saw you suggested the UV Physical one in a previous video. I was using UV clear at the time and found that it would dry up and pill in my hairline and was AWFUL under makeup. I still wear it when I'm not wearing makeup, going out to the store, etc. But I tried the UV physical tinted and brought it along for a friends birthday weekend. I LOVE this sunscreen. It's hydrating on me and while it can tend to look oily sometimes, I just put a little bit of powder on top of it to help the shine. It goes on like a dream and I was shocked by the coverage it offered. It's not going to hide super red pimples or blemishes, but it did a great job of canceling out the redness in my face. I love to wear this when I'm out with friends and want some coverage, but don't want to wear full on foundation or BB cream. Thank you for the suggestion, I already stocked up and bought extra so I never have to be without :)

I do have melasma on my cheeks. Since I used it my melasma doesn't get worse. I just combined it with hyaluronic acid serum from CeraVe and it moisturizes enough for the whole day. My skin is light-medium tone and the tinted one works well for me. This was considered light on my face compared to CeraVe tinted SPF 30. So far, Elta MD is still my favorite sunscreens. Hey Dr. Dray! I was wondering if you perhaps could consider doing a review video on the new, reformulated MakePrem UV Defense, Daily Sun Fluid, SPF 50+, PA++++ (150 ml) sunscreen? :)

@@DrDrayzday nope, it appears they’ve removed it as well as removing some other potentially problematic ingredients and adding in some newer generation sunscreen filters, such as Uvinal A Plus, Uvinal T-150, Uvasorb HEB, etc. :)

I'm blown away! I've been using Elta MD Clear for at least 4 years, and I never knew it was not water resistant. 😮 I am out at the lake most weekends spring through fall and this is my only facial sunscreen. I reapply many times throughout the day, but sometimes I do get a little pink. This is probably why. Aaaackk!

So happy you broke down each sunscreen. I now know what is likely to fit my skin better. UV clear made me break out and I’m not sure if it’s from the HA because it usually never works well with my skin so I’m excited to try UV physical & UV sport for the beach! Made my purchase today with your code and link. 💓💓💓

57 y.o., white, male, red-head with fair skin here. - I am also a long-term cancer patient, having had more than 150 chemotherapy treatments over a period of 18 years. An issue that has permanently changed my skin for the worse. - While I do use other European sunscreens (that are not approved by the FDA in the USA) created for post-chemotherapy treated skin, for outdoor activity where I am going to be in direct sunlight for extended periods of time, my go-to sunscreen for daily use over the last 5+ years has been the EltaMD UV Physical Broad-Spectrum SPF 41 (described in this video @ 11:20.) I have tried a few of the other Elta sunscreens, and this one remains their best, imo. I have a fairly heavy beard, and sunscreen can be difficult to deal with when the five o'clock shadow is present. The UV Physical Broad-Spectrum SPF 41 blends very well, even with the stubble. Over all, it's the best tinted sunscreen out there for guys like me. Highly recommend it.

I (and my hyper-sensitive, super-reactive, prone to redness combo skin) tried the UV Physical Broad-Spectrum SPF 41 lightly tinted sunscreen. OMG! No redness. No itching or burning. Lightweight and not greasy. It feels like velvet on my skin and looks great! Sooooo comfortable to wear, even around the eyes. The color goes on much lighter than it looks coming out of the tube. I have super pale, neutral to cool toned skin so the tint is a bit more golden than I am. Lately, I have been using Avene Tolerance Control skin cream for reactive skin at night, which is another Dr Dray positive review tip. It may have had a beneficial effect?

Some have mentioned that EltaMD UV Physical Tinted Mineral Sunscreen Broad-Spectrum SPF 41 is difficult to wash off. Have you found this to be the case?
@marymckenna5524
@marymckenna5524 2 жыл бұрын
@@dogbutterfly8309 Not compared to my long wear, 80 minute "beach" mineral sunscreens. EltaMD UV P. T. 41 is a 40 minute water-resistant sunscreen, so it is a bit heavier than a chemical sunscreen. It feels light to me and I do not have an issue with taking it off.

Thanks for all the information. I'm new to your channel, happen to be looking for a really good skin care routine and sunscreen, so I believe I came to the right place! Your skin looks dewy and radiant and the fact that you are a doctor for the skin, really puts you ahead of all the cosmetic and skin care beauty industry.

Thanks for creating this video! It is interesting timing. I had just spent some time this week at the Elta MD website trying to pick out a new sunscreen to try for being outdoors this summer. One problem I have had with all sunscreens is getting them to stick and stay on my nose and chin. The skin on my cheeks and forehead is dry. If you have any recommendations for keeping sunscreen on the nose and chin, that would be very helpful.

I'm 42 and constantly mistaken for mid to late 20s. Elta MD is my favorite, "holy grail", sunscreen. I'm allergic to chemical sunscreen so I can only use the zinc and titanium oxide formulas, of which they have many. It's not too pricey and worth every penny!

The new UV Sheer irritated my skin horribly. I'm still dealing with a rash over a month later!! The worst thing is, Dermstore won't allow me to post an honest review. Elta MD's team on IG recommended this sunscreen for rosacea and sensitive skin. I wouldn't recommend.
