Thanks for this testing lad, lots of people may be interested in this. I for one like my Wraith Prism's looks better than virtually any other sub-$200 AIO or cooler, which means I may not feel like getting that pricey new cooler immediately. (even though, let's be honest, it's kinda cheap and dumb to run it without a massive tower or AIO). I just like the Prism's looks honestly, it legit looks better than just about everything. OH I almost forgot to ask you, do you think these coolers would work well on an undervolt rather than default boost behaviour?

Great video, though guys keep in mind that this been done on open bench and with tiniest gpu you could get, in closed case and with beefy gpu, which i assume you would be running if you have 5950x money, the temps should be significantly worse. I know you probably wont do this in closed case and good gpu but it would be way more realistic use case and interesting test.
@PCTechHustle3 жыл бұрын
You are correct, a closed system with additional running components will generate more heat, however the idea here was to ONLY show how well particular coolers perform with no other contributing factors to get the most baseline information. In regards to GPUs and enclosures / cases, that will vary quite a bit.

I was playing a VR game last night (in which I was rendering anywhere from 50-80 people's avatars in large worlds) and my CPU temps were sitting around 206-208 degrees. I took the side panel off my PC and temps dropped to around 180 degrees. I'm thinking of swapping the Vetroo V5, that I was using to cool my previous CPU (3900x) and getting around 180 degrees in VR with, back into my main PC to cool the 5950x but I'm not sure it will be better than the AIO (and I can only fit a 120mm AIO in my case).

Hi, I am a newbie and need help on a cooler. I am told if I want to game in ultra wide 1440 that it's best to get a really good AIO liquid cooler. I know you didn't game in this vid but my cpu is i7 10700 (I know no Ryzen hehe) and GPU 3070 and will be gaming 1440 ultrawide. Do you have a suggestion or is this vetroo good enough
@PCTechHustle3 жыл бұрын
I’d expect the Vetroo to do quite well. Assuming you are running the non-k variant being only a 65w chip.

I have the masterliquid 240 v2 and the same processor and my idle temps are dumb it goes from 65c too 75c sometimes its way lower idk whats causing it and im afraid too use the computer for too long, when i game it goes too like 80 idk what too do, i have looked everywhere for a fix cant find it

So a cooler master hyper 212 paired with a ryzen 7 5800x3d in a mesh case should be ok according to this?
@anomonyous Жыл бұрын
Ehh... it'll run, and probably won't throttle, if you set everything up right. But, you should probably look for something that can handle more, tbh. I mean, you'll probably be ok. But you'll be running it hot. And that's assuming you're running it stock.

What aftermarket cooler would you recommend for the 3500x on a msib550 mag?

The Vetroo V5 is a heck of a cooler if you aren't looking to spend a bunch. As you can see here, it keeps things perfectly cool!

3500x doesn't run hot. Check to see if you have it on Performance mode or Balanced. Ryzen Balanced power mode helps a lot.

An a320 motherboard likely will have limited options with voltage. I would at minimum buy a b-series board if you are looking to do something like that.

Nah im using aircooling in my 5950x and my max temp is only 65c under 100% load with my hyper v running 10 virtual machine , I think this should be depends on room temperature, and for me handling projects in virtual machine aircooling is much safer than water cooling which has a smaller chance of cooling malfunction.

but any of them unlocked the true potential of the 5950X, the boost clock is 4,9ghz, and all tested coolers solutions just let 4,6Ghz max, in the end, all of them are useless, they just let you run the processor until you buy a better solution.
