The “everything” pan is a rip off. If you want a pan that will last you a lifetime AND season your food, get a cast iron skillet.
@BhappyD3 жыл бұрын
And I’ve seen SO many people say that the Always Pan loses its non-stick ability/coating in quite a short amount of time and just doesn’t hold up well in general. Then with the OUTRAGEOUS price factored in, you’re basically only paying for the pan’s “aesthetic”. Which I mean is fine to do if you have a lot of money to spend freely, but for the majority of people who aren’t in that position, there are WAY better pans that are actually built to last and built with quality as the primary focus, rather than being built to be trendy or an aesthetic.

I’m surprised Christopher and Rachel love the Always Pan as much as they do. I do like similar aspects of it, but I wouldn’t buy it again - kind of regret my purchase, even though I got it on sale. The part of the handle after the spoon rest nub is made from metal, even though it’s obviously coloured and looks just like the main part of the handle. My grip tends to choke up closer to the pan on the handle, and I’ve burned myself a couple of times while picking up the pan. The opposite side handle has a little “caution: gets hot!” sticker because it is also the same metal as the rest of the pot, not the safe handle material. It would be convenient to grab while cooking, as Christopher mentions, but you have to use a potholder or dish towel to avoid burns. I’m assuming Christopher either does that or has never actually touched that second handle while cooking. I leave the sticker on as a reminder - the all one colour of the pan is very aesthetically nice, but it can also make the user forget what’s safe to touch (especially if someone who’s never used it before comes over and tries to help you cook). I tried searing on my pan once, and after that the non-stick was never the same, especially for eggs. This was after 2-3 months. I agree with Christopher that non-stick doesn’t last forever, but I was expecting it to last longer than it did. Would be interested for Rachel to try the new Perfect Pot. I think it might be better than the Always Pan, but with all the marketing, it’s so hard to tell. I appreciate that it’s oven safe though, unlike the Always Pan!

The Always Pan is one of the best things I bought for my kitchen. I love the fact that the beechwood spoon/spatula fits on the handle while I'm cooking. I don't keep it there for storage, but it's nice to not dirty the spoon rest on my counter. I've used the steamer insert once to make pasta to finally test it out. I had to let the pasta sit to the side while I made the rest of the dish in the pan, so I learned my lesson and cook pasta in a saucepan instead and make the main stuff for the dish in the Always Pan. I haven't noticed the handle becoming loose and I've had my pan over a year. It's easy to clean and looks as good as the day I bought it.

Everything you talked about doing with the Always Pan (except eggs) I do with my enameled Dutch oven, and it can go in the oven. I got mine on sale at Canadian Tire for less than a third of the price of that pan. The always pan doesn't replace everything, because it's not oven safe, so you still need a baking dish. To hear that the handle gets loose and see that the non-stick is already starting to wear confirms to me that you're paying for all the marketing, not a quality product.

I've had an always pan for months as well, and I agree, the handle nub thing is kinda nuts, but I like the comfy handle. I have found myself using the steamer basket a lot for veggies that I would otherwise blanch like fresh green beans, they just come out at a lovely texture, but obviously not for everyone.

I like that the wooden spoon stores away with it bc my family tends to use metal spoons on non stick and ruins them, so this shows them that metal is a no no on my pan lol I also like the steamer addition bc I have small children and steam veggies for them .. for the price it’s nice to get those two add ons

Definitely enjoyed this process, also your descriptions and the things you note that are the kind of things I often note on the same kind of products. Chris getting existential on the cereal box art was fun and reminded me of my own spouse's humor. Interested in more for certain. 👍🏻💜

I have been seeing ads for Mud Water and would love to see if that’s is actually a good replacement for coffee like they claim! Love your channels!

The Two Bears coffee cans are actually available in natural/health food stores. My former workplace used to stock them. I never really liked them, personally, but they do well enough in general.

Second this! I've been considering getting one but from his review, it sounds like I should just stick with my Calphalon pans.

I DREAM of one day getting a nugget for my daughter... we just need more space first... but I’ve seen people lay the flat ones on the stairs to turn it into a slide... dreams!!!

I just started seeing Two Bears in stores here and they’re always marked down to like 75% off. I appreciate it cause I love the matcha so can get a lot, bur it’s sad they’re not doing well it seems!

Ya I’ve tried the CityBon Fires, and I agree when trying to roasting marshmallows it goes black not like golden brown if you did it over an actual fire. The marshmallows also don’t fully get soft either it’s just the outside of the marshmallow that gets charcoaled, so it doesn’t make a good s’more as it doesn’t melt properly. But as you said the look of it is cute as a small fire that’s safe.

Episode idea: taste test coffee alternatives. As a coffee drinker which coffee alternatives would you recommend to non-coffee drinkers that taste the most like coffee but isn’t.
