I picked up the Airgoo a few months ago, and I'm super happy with it. I basically upgraded from one of those cheap Oasser-style compressors. That little guy carried me for over a year, so I agree with recommending them for a beginner.

I got a $40 one of Amazon a few years ago, swapped out the airbrush for a better one and its still going strong for me, great for terrain, and basecoats, but yea that larger one with the tank will be the next upgrade once this one goes out

I love every compressor is just a licensed design. In the US that Sparmax is under the Itawa brand, who also has a copy of all the other compressors shown here and the standard other compressors are under several names

Nice video Mikey . Best advice I'd give is to ignore the hobby compressors and look at a "Silent" workshop compressor, these run to a max of 115psi were as the hobby ones run to 45psi which means the tank holds more a lot more air and the compressor has to run a lot less, example mine with a 12L tank, when running is about 60db range and I can easily turn it on and let it fill up then get 2 or more hours of constant use before the compressor kicks back in for a few minutes to fill it back up.

@@NigeyWigey I've got this one Hyundai 8L Air Compressor HY5508 at about £116 ( thought it was 12L but it's 8L) you will want to get a regulator/moisture trap and fitting (about £20 quid) or if the have room their 24L version comes with the reg/trap at £165

Funny and well presented (as usual). I've got a shop compressor. I got it for other projects, and it's handy, with a big tank, But air plumbing was a nightmare, and it's a bit LOOOUUUD!!!. Like a jet engine. Compressors, and airbrushes, are pretty affordable now (Fengda has a great one if you can't get an expensive brand name). Definitely get some kind of compressor, though. Thisd is a good guide.

Ultra quiet 1 or 2 gallon, in the states, Harbor Freight sells Fortress brand, it’s absolutely amazing for airbrushing, you can run it in the house at midnight and not wake up people
@michaelramos44822 ай бұрын
I was really hoping to see my compressor on here. Its even a step above the Sparmax. As you saw, the Sparmax really is just a repackaged maybe slightly higher build quality version of the mid tiered generic tank compressor. I bought a Badger name brand one and a generic one and they were almost completely identical. The absolute best airbrush experience youll get is the one at the highest price point. The Silentaire Super Silent 20-a. This thing is an absolute beast (It weighs about as much as one too) I found mine on marketplace just over a year ago and it has ran incredibly. It is so quiet that even when its recharging the spray from the brush is louder than the compressor itself. Definitely not for everyone, but if youre serious about airbrushing or getting something that will literally last decades, you cant look any further.

All those knock-off Chinese names are probably shilling the same compressor. The one I have is an AS-186, sold by Timbertech and a number of other places. In my research it came up a lot as a good reliable standard compressor.

I would not suggest starting off with the 1st or 2nd one. For new air brush users they’re very unforgiving in a way a real compressor isn’t and that frustration factor only ended up in me spending more money. Once you know what you’re doing you can get okay results from 1&2

How was the Sparmax on heat? I've been using one similar to the Airgoo and boy does it get hot. I've burned myself a couple of times forgetting it's under my desk lost in a painting session. Would you say it gets less hot then others or does that shroud just create a barrier to avoid accidental burns?

Great vid, I have a cheaper sparmax compressor and it doesn’t have a tank (came In a sparmax kit). Recommend not showing distain for a product before you even open the box. Try and have an open mind and judge on its actual merits rather than the obviously pre-conveived ones you have made up your mind on. Without setting rules for yourself, your reviews are kind of pointless.
