If anyone is wondering... The W/E terminal takes over as primary stage heat signal when in EMH mode; otherwise inactive. The W2 terminal activates as secondary heat signal (in both heating modes) when the sensed temperature lags the set temperature (by some non-adjustable amount, around a degree). (I opted to use two thermostats; one for primary, and another for secondary/backup so I can set the latter much lower than the former.) The thermostat operates on transformer power without batteries, but if you want to keep your settings when changing modes (or through a power interruption) then, batteries!

Hi Josh, I purchased the Amazon 721 model last winter. I was a little nervous because it had no brand on it, but I have to say it is the best thermostat I’ve had in many years. My old Honeywell quit illuminating, and the buttons were getting all funky. I installed this one on my gas furnace and now I am using it with the heat pump as well. I love it! it illuminates nice and bright and the digits are bigger so I can see them. Can’t say how happy I am with it. Thanks for the great video!

Hey Josh great video. I like the style of this video testing products out that people would buy. I think this would be a good video series man!

🌟🤗🌀 GOOD demonstration …… YES ~ I like the less complicated thermostats that do basics. Thanks for showing this one, it works!

Looks like a robertshaw I test my tstats the same way. Had some bad out of the box

Makes you wonder if the company that was manufacturing the old thermostats decided to just manufacture them under a different name once the American manufacturer moved onto a new model

I like it Josh, good choice to review. When you went through the tech settings, I didn't see one for the reversing valve. Does this one power the reversing valve on cool or on heat, and why am I not seeing an item in the menu for setting this?

Okay, I see what they did. They have a terminal for each. That's the smartest way to handle it IMO. No settings to revert this back to factory, and helpful for implementing status lights to see at a glance if it's calling for heat or for cooling. I used your link to bring it up so you might see a little commission when I place the order. 😂
