Little funny storytime! I hope you read this barry, 'cause the vegetables slicer made the life of my mum so much easier! She had a critical health condition five years ago. She was at a point were she couldn't even stand, walk or do something by herself. Today, she can life by herself again and have a nearly "normal" life. Of couse, it will never be the same like before. Since this health crit (like I a call it to make it funny) the agility of her hands and fingers aren't the best anymore. At bad days, she can't even open a bottle of water. So I got her the vegetable slicer after I seen it in your video Barry. AND THIS THING IS BOMBS! It helps her so much. She has fun to cook again, 'cause it's finally easy again for her to cut stuff with that slicer. :) So thanks for that Barry! And everyone who don't think about the "it can help people with disabilities... I hope you stumble over this comment and realize how much some stuff can help some people!

I subscribed last Christmas, I watch you on my XBox. I am also disabled and the thing that made me pick you as a subscriber versus a fun one time watch? You consistently remind people to be kind to people like me. That said I am a trained chef and did wince at the bit where you had to still prep the veggies to... prep the veggies. Thank you for being open minded, funny, and awesome.

The reason TJ Maxx is called TK Maxx in the UK is because in the UK we used to have a company called TJ Hughes so when TJ Maxx came over to the UK they changed the J to a K to make it TK Maxx (to avoid confusion), but they're essentially exactly the same!

With the apple peeler gadget. you can see a wingnut the corer part on the end. It stands to reason you can take it off to use it just as a peeler for a potato or an orange and just re-attatch it when you need it for the apples! Love your videos Barry! Keep it up!

The first time you tested the garlic rocker press I had to order it right away from amazon. I absolutely LOVE it!! It also came with a little vinyl/plastic tube that peels the clove for you, it works too. My other favorite gadget I saw you test out and then had to buy, was this little plastic strainer that fits inside a tuna can or on the outside of a regular can, (like standard canned veg size), to drain the liquid off. It works great and I don't have to worry about what is on the lid of the can, though I still wash it first just in case. lol Keep up the great work! Love the gadget testing!

I work at a TKMaxx That robot nutcracker was in my store last year, not seen one this year. They break real easy, lost heads and legs are so common. Good thing its the torso you need. For the apple peeler & corer, when you do the spuds with it, could you breadcrumb the core and make something like a coquette out of it?

That brush/comb thing is for cleaning the top part. Things like celery and scallions usually get stuck in the pushing grid. As the blades dull (which happens dinner than you'd expect) everything gets caught in there. Also, the hinge breaks. I wish they made on with better materials.

I can COMPLETELY attest to the help these gadgets give to the disabled. Barry didn't feature it in this video, but he reviewed a can opener by Kuhn Ricon (Ep. 13), and based on his review I bought myself one last year. You have NO clue how much easier and safer it has made opening cans! I don't get cut anymore and my hands don't get sore from trying to turn the 'crank' of the other manual can openers we have. So, Barry's right, These DEFINITELY help disabled folks!

I got that vegetable chopper for my grandma nearly a decade ago from a market. They're especially good for people with arthritis in their hands because they can use the weight of their upper body combined with the lever action to chop everything easily in one fell swoop -- no holding a chopping knife, no repeating actions. I really can't praise that product enough because she loves cooking, but it's so hard on her nowadays.

I use the apple peeler/slicer/corer to make homemade applesauce. I prep the apples and then throw them into a crockpot for for several hours with a 1/2 cup water. I also add in some ginger, cinnamon, all spice, and nutmeg as they cook. Once they are soft, I mash them up with a potato masher. (You can also use an immersion blender if you want it smoother.) To sweeten it after it's done, I add in some apple syrup or brown sugar.

for the apple peeler, if you don't want the middle section to be cut out, i think you can adjust the metal blade at the end of the machine. You can knock it down or take it out from the look of it. I can see a big screw on it. Then, you can only peel the potato or whatever you wanna peel. The thing is it won't be spiral sliced thou.
