I came straight from your day in the life video from seven years ago to this one, it is such a relief to see that you’re doing better. Even the thing about you feeling less unsure about deserving the therapy and not wasting anyone’s time is so empowering to hear. I reckon everybody could do with therapy, from the illest of us to the most apparently well. Mental health is such a big learning curve, at 31 I am also feeling as though I might finally be making progress in understanding it. I’m so glad your eating disorder has less of a hold over your life these days, that’s brilliant and may its power ever diminish. Wishing you all the best from Yorkshire. ❤

Was very happy to see this video in my subscription box! So glad to hear that therapy is working, and that the eating disorder does not hold control anymore. I went through CBT 2+ years ago, and recently got counselling and really do agree with your point about learning how to do therapy. CBT didn't work for me for several reasons, but one of them was my own attitude towards it - I had these stupid thoughts of "I need to be a good patient" etc, and all this kind of stuff gets in the way of any progress. With counselling, while there still could be a lot of work done, I came into it with completely open mind, no expectations, and almost forcing myself to not be sceptical about things that I would usually be sceptical about. And I think it genuinely allowed the counselling to work better on me, than it would have otherwise. Again, so glad to hear you're well. All the best to you!
