That guy's Mega Man was decent. Only gripe is he (and most players on Fightcade) do not utilize the Mega Buster. Charge that baby up and catch an unsuspecting opponent with it and They're in for a bad time. Good games though.

When this game was still being play tested at Sunnyvale Golfland his Beat Plane was overkill. You just drove into the opponent with complete invulnerability.

Beat Plane or Rush Drill? Rush Drill is 100% invincible, last I checked, though I'm not sure if you can combo into it except maybe off a Rockball setup or something. Regardless, even without full invincibility, Beat Plane is (still?) 100% a bullshit super.

Love Mvc1 with all my heart . it was huge in Central London United Kingdom when it first hit the arcades in 1998 with Chinatown being 2mins away but Mvc1 for me has the shittest backgrounds by far out of the games from XmenCOTA to Mvc2

I’ve definitely seen Megaman utilized by high level players back in the late 90s at my Arcade. Much more of a zoner with the leaf shield in queue and the mega buster at full charge waiting for an opponent to slip up. This player’s play style of Megaman is way more calm than what I’m used to

Hmmm. Strange. I know Justin played MvC1 in CTF, and while I didn't encounter _this_ type of Beat Plan abuse until several years after MvC1's heydey, I'd be surprised if no one in CTF used Beat PLane like this (maybe they stuck to the more common Rockball traps). But yes, Beat Plane is 100% a bullshit super, which is saying something considering what else is in MvC1. It has like 1F start-up - it's basically MvC1's version of AHVB, and is 100% safe afterwards. AND he gets to mix you up for free simply by not firing and/or going behind you. It's less OP and more _extremely irritating_, since Megaman isn't _that_ much of a threat otherwise. It's very much like Spider-Man and his pogo-superjumping crossup nonsense.

mostly its not practical. The biggest problem with megaman is he doesn't do any chip damage outside of charged buster and charging buster removes the ability to push block or tech throws. so one tick throw resets the buster. He doesn't have a way to really open up good players so he lived as a niche sort of anti-duo team with the invulnerable start up frames on supers or the drill but there were ways to mitigate that. I had to educate Duc on this when he tried me in a tournament back when megaman was considered top tier

great stuff..shudve wished he could use not the S tiers just for a change. he done it many times in MvC2 even the dreaded 1pt team he did it spectacularly & beat players with uber low tiers. im sure movesets and supers are almost the same for MvC and MvC2 except for the assist mechanisms. still looking forward for that day/content to come. anyways kudos mr JW for playing/shining FGs from the old arcades. may i suggest playing some of the fatal fury series as well? particularly the Garou Densetsu: Wild Ambition from ps1? 🙂
