I appreciate you ripping that apart for me. I'm going to guess it's an issue with the internal lock unlock relay ( you can see the printing ;) ) Thanks for taking that apart. I'm sure there's some specialized guy somewhere that could do it, but as long as the part is still available probably not worth trying to fix.

Hey, thanks for this. Our HRV was randomly locking itself and setting off the alarm after a moonroof drain line backed up and caused water ingress down the driver pillar and over the MICU. I took it apart and didn’t notice any moisture, but baked it at 120F for 30 min to dry it out, which resolved the problem (although unplugging everything could have cleaned off some corrosion). In hindsight, the left most column of fuses on my Part # are all un/lock related - I’m fairly confident pulling those fuses and running a hair drier set to low over those ports would have solved the problem.

Disassembly of these type parts are a bit time consuming the 1st time for each. With practice, it gets easier. I started with the old Excursions and Super Dutys with the tiny surface mount Fuel Pump Relays that always failed. Since the Fuse Box was obsolete and I hated using used parts. I would desolder the Relays, Solder wires and trim a little plastic, and add Remote mounted Relays that would not Fail. It helps that I went to a Trade School to learn how to Repair Computers and Electronics at component level. (I graduated in 1993 and received a 386 IBM Clone Computer.) In that 18 Month Class time frame: 386 became Obsolete, 486 showed and became Obsolete and the Pentium was being replaced by the Pentium 2. At that point, no one repaired anything, they just replaced Boards. It was a good skill to learn. Sometimes: 3 Hours at $105.00 / Hour is still cheaper than some of these Replacement Parts.

Interesting how the whole package is put together to keep it as compact as possible.

Oh god, I remember dealing with this thing on my 2011 Civic Hatchback. Trying to figure out what each of those pins on the Option Connector did since there was no documentation in the service manual. The option connector is that 6/7 pin socket to the left of the relays. This connector was used for factory under dash courtesy lighting.

Manufacturers really should just cut down on the electronics, the amount of junk in this fuse box is just dumb.

Yes. i just got the same problem after almost replacing all door actuators. Only the drive side door locks when using key fob. traced all wiring and signals - it seems the passenger's unlock internal relay (inside MICU) is defective. when i bypass this relay (during close operation) by cutting the yellow cable and directly connecting to ground (and paralleling to the lock terminals of the driver side door) - the passenger doors now locks. I am now in the process of making a circuit relay board for use for the closing of all passenger doors using only signals coming from the driver side door actuator connectors

I have that same issue with my horn replay the is also built into the MICU. It’s honestly not even worth the me fixing
@oba90416 ай бұрын
So this is probably what’s causing my horn issues dispite fixing the spliced wire and trying a new clock spring. I don’t understand what caused them to build the horn module into the damn circuit instead of making a replaceable relay

Thanks a lot for giving me new hope. I have a Honda Ridgeline 2008 RTL and the electrical system is acting up. First the guage is not showing the outside temp, odometer, trip and even the Headlight swithc and other info. Plus the AC blower works but the AC Radiator fan and clutch do not engage. Took it to the workshop and they say to replace the MICU. In Ghana I am not getting the same model M2 I got similar one for the Honda Accord and other models M6 and M4. I need help what do I do can I try the different models on my car? What do you or any one recommend

Also may want to check for any water leaks up behind the dash. Very common to find the green crusty in the connectors.

What year was the crv mine is 2008 and I suspect the Micu is bad because doors won’t lock with key fob and door keeps wanting to lock by them selves also every so often my car battery dies would you suspect that it’s the micu

I think it was a 2013 the generation after yours. Just see live data of the body control module to see what is being commanded to lock itself.

H tech, on an older Honda. Is it worth to rebuild a power steering pump? Or just get a new one? I had to put in a brand new aftermarket aae ps pump in my tsx. It's still noisy from time to time 😔. Thinking to get a new car soon
@IIGrayfoxII Жыл бұрын
If you can find a new one, use it. Rebuilding can take more time, assuming you can find the rebuild kit. Rebuilding is more suited for older cars like classics where you cant just install a new one.
@theoffroadingmechanic Жыл бұрын
Never had good experience with aftermarket pumps. You'll put in a few before you find a decent one. Are you using the OEM fluid?

@@theoffroadingmechanic not honda oe branded fluid. But it's OEM for Honda PS fluid

witht the proper schematics you can duplicate on board relays with out side rewired relays,,like the ford with the fuel pump relays or dodge,,etc etc ,,there are videos here that will guide you,,,,,
