You taking cold showers is hilarious when one of the channels I watch (Elsa Rhae & Barron) I've watched them take quick baths in streams while there was about 25cm of snow on the ground. Or taking a shower outside when it's -13c out. WINTER CAMPING Part 3/3 -- COLD DIP TIME❄️ kzbin.info/www/bejne/f5zZaXqmncSIjtk

For some years now I am doing a little of both: start with a normal tempered shower (not very hot). But the last minutes for rinse of soap I use cold water, but not super cold. I adjust the temp slowly until its almost not comfortable and stay there for a bit. I feel as you say more energetic through the day. Especially in the hot days of the summer.

i usually have colored dyed hair and it’s known that cold water is better for preserving colors or ‘sealing’ in the color. so i usually have a hot shower to relax my muscles, then at the end, slowly move it to being slightly uncomfortable and just let it wash over it. it definitely makes me feel energized

Taking cold showers is easier if you slowly turn the shower down as you shower. I like cold showers in the summer and I start at a medium temp and then work my way colder. Cold showers have a lot of benefits that I have actually seen the results of. It might be miserable at first but it is totally worth it!

Nope. Easier to just jump into the cold shower. If ya bring it down slowly then ya will want to turn it back up at a certain temperature. Try living in a place where your water heater uses natural gas to heat up the water and then stop paying the natural gas bill. That might grow some hair on your chest during the winter.

What I sometimes do is, after my hot shower where using soap is just easier (soap is more effective with hot water) I rinse off and then turn the temperature right down. I make myself stand under the cold water, for a few minutes, and I can feel my core temperature dropping and my blood pumping faster. My mother used to call these 'Scottish Showers'. Best of both worlds!

The reason why you were feeling tired after the night shower was because your body sleeps better in colder conditions! So because you took a cold shower and then went to bed, the shower helped with lowering your body temperature for bed!

I'm not diagnosed with depression, but my sister and other people in my family have been, and I can assume that most of those have also passed down to me. Bc of this, depression and unmotivation really hit me during 2020 with the sudden change. When I started taking colder showers it really helped motivate me and made me feel more productive in a way, and it also helped me do things that normally I couldn't find the energy to do. And on top of that it had really helped my sleeping schedule. So if you are also struggling with the issues I had, I really recommend cold showers! They don't have to be ice cold to the point where you are screaming (like in the video lol) but enough for you to handle. I've been taking cold showers for over a year now and it has really helped me get out of that depressive cycle, and with my anxiety as well! When you ever get a chance you should really try them, you'll definitely notice a positive change :)

I did my first cold shower experiment about 4 years ago. I went back and forth for a while. Each time I started cold showers again, I noticed benefits. When I went back to warm showers, I noticed that my skin and hair got drier and felt less healthy. I've been solid on cold showers for 18 months now. I no longer expect showers to be warm. They're cold, full stop. Sometimes in the summer, the water never really gets cold enough to be refreshing, and that's a disappointment. Cold showers also save water and energy.

Depression is like a low emotional and energy flatline rather than just a sadness like it's sometimes portrayed. The way you take care of yourself and your basic functions like sleeping and eating happen less regularly and just whenever you're feeling up to it. So if it's supposed to help depression, what you're feeling makes sense. It would give the opposite feeling whether you had depression or not.

I started researching cold therapy to improve my PTSD symptoms and the cold showers stimulate the vagus nerve which helps your nervous system to reset. I am slowly seeing an improvement over time. Ease into it slowly. Lol Paying attention to your breathing helps you to actually relax more in the cold water.

I'm a big fan of cold showers. I lived and worked in a rainforest this summer and cold showers saved me. When you're working outside in 80°f with 100% humidity, a hot shower is the last thing you want, and cold showers were the only way to lower my body temperature at the end of the day. I didn't take ❄️cold❄️ showers they were probably about 60°f. I wasn't trying to freeze, room temp was enough to cool down on a hot day.

I almost always go cold for the end of my showers. I start off hot for a body wash, warm water to wash my hair with shampoo, and cold to rinse conditioner. I love standing in the cold water for a bit... especially after a workout! Also, because Louisiana summers are brutal!

the fact, that you are so proud of taking showers, but are ashamed, when you don’t do s well as you thought in a workout just makes me gag.. I mean, you didn’t stop the workout!? You got through! That alone would make me feel like a professional athlete! I know, that would probably be a comment for the last vid, but i’m watching this now, so i wont go back.. Either way, i am swimming in sweat this evening and am gonna take a cold shower tomorrow morning and looking forward to it! love ya(and i mean kisses to your mother as well, ours are well served:)

I started taking cold showers because of this and I feel so nice and cozy after. I’ve learned that your body naturally drops a few degrees around like 8pm, to get ready for bed, so having a cold shower before bed can make you more tired. I actually sleep a lot better after a cold shower because of that. However, I work nights so my biological clock is backwards lol. I’ve tried taking cold showers “in the morning,” which, for me, is 9pm, and I was SO lethargic at work, even though I was awake. Because my body thought it was time for bed. So if I shower before work, I take warm showers. But if it’s after work, it’s a cold shower. I just feel all nice and comfy cozy, like I could curl up in bed. One of the KZbinrs I watch also takes cold showers and he said “the world is so much more warm and inviting when you’re done; it’s not cold and miserable, so you’re in a better mood” and honestly, he’s right.

Admittedly I haven’t taken a straight cold shower because I was too chicken and added just a little warm so that while it was still cold it was also very bearable. I did that a few summers ago. This video (along with the heat wave) has inspired me to take straight cold showers for at least a week

I tend to do cold showers in the summer/autumn. Once winter comes it just becomes unpleasent. I was also surprised that I was able to sleep after a cold shower. These cold showers get your system going pretty fast but at the same time they reduce your body/core temperature by a little and it is known that when the body prepares for sleep it reduces the body temperature a little (that´s why we feel a little cold when we stay up longer). It could be that the late cold shower just brings you over the threshold where your temperature is low enough such that the body transitions to sleep mode.
