In my opinion, the 400EX was the best trail quad Honda ever made. I have a 2007. They need to bring it back. New rear tiers would make it easier to wheelie. Some hand guards would probably be a good idea too. Great Quad. Thanks for sharing.

If you’re going to ride in the woods dump those stupid nerf bars ! I never did like those hazards. Besides you don’t need the bars if you know how to ride. Even if you race it. I used to race hare scrambles. You learn quick that those nerfs will get you hurt.

I love my 2001 400EX that I’ve had since brand new. Only changes I’ve made are a swing arm skid plate due to the rocky terrain I used to ride on, 1” bigger tires on the rear to make up the skid plate clearance and a 1 tooth smaller drive gear to make up for the tires. Still rip that thing all over the place and now so do my kids.

Try some gritty Vim oven cleaner on the seat cover...rub gently and most of the staining will come off. After the seat will appear dull which you can restore by rubbing in some baseball glove oil in small amounts to restore the gloss of the cover.

There has been a test done that I saw using a particle meter & flow tester. k&n are very free flowing almost the same as no filter at all while they still catch a lot of the debris. Some filters were worse, most were better at filtering, but the bigger more important debris didn't make it through the k&n. The k&n flowed the best out of all filters tested. The k&n was also tested without an outerwear pre filter.
