Very good trade I just bought the size below it the 1880 I love it. Two things the glow plug’s usually only have to be run about 10 seconds and when you start it up do NOT run it at high rpm’s it is hard on the engine Kubota says in the manual wait until engine is up to operating temperature before throttling it or working it. I’m sure you will be happy with it!
@Team_Fortress2
@Team_Fortress2 2 жыл бұрын
Any engine when cold should not be ran at higher RPM’s this is common sense. You will wear down your bearings and seals and could crack your cylinder or bend rods.

I have a similar model, BX 7400. I've had it 18 years, always runs, just change oil and filters. Mine has a box scrapper, belly mower and loader. Hop on it and get to work right away. Your tractor is a keeper, keep it in the family. It can do insane amounts of work. Enjoy.

That's a 12-15k machine. I run mine with 480lbs of cement on the back and it is a beast. You need weight on that in order to do work with that bucket. The only issue is you cannot add a backhoe to that model because it does not have the sub frame reinforcement. The tractor itself is very low to the ground so be careful on rough terrain. They actually sell a bottom plate for it. You did spectacular on that deal.

I have owned Kubota's since 1978 and have never had any issues. My wife has a 2008 BX2660 with loader, back blade, 60 inch mowing deck, 48 inch three point rear mount snow blower. I gave $12,500 when I bought it in 2011 with 247 hours. There is 1400 hours on it right now and no plan to ever part with it. I have 2 other Kubota tractors a 2010 L3600 cab tractor and a 1999 B2400 TLB plus a Kubota ZD23 zero turn. As far as I would be concerned you got a great deal. I see the tractor has the lift arms for a belly mower and your tires are called R4's and industial ag tire, as we have a full set of those on the BX and a full set of turf tires.

I have a little Mahindra Emax 22L with front loader and backhoe tiller and box blade and Auger I paid 27k out the door brand new I bought it just as everything was shutting down for covid the dealer called me 3 weeks later and told me had had someone there that would buy it from me for 30k because the factory told them they wasn't getting any for at least 6 mons but you will be shocked by what these little compact tractors can do just make sure you have enough ballast on the rear the front loader can pick the rear end up way easier than you think and yes make sure you get the top of the ROPs bar it could save your life

We had Kubota compact tractors and RTV side by sides for basic transportation in the mine I worked at. They would weld a platform on the back that 3-4 men could ride on or could be used to carry supplies. Tough machines to hold up underground.

You got a hell of a good deal; those are pretty pricey little machines; they're a "Sub-Compact" model tractor, the loader is good for small stuff, mostly meant for like mulch, just the hydraulics aren't meant to handle heavier stuff. Not that you can't do dirt work, just not what it's meant for. The tires are actually two different ones, the rear are R4 Industrial ply tires and looks like the fronts are R14-T tires. The R4s are a good compromise between turf tires and R1 Agricultural tires, still good tread but wont tear up grass. The R14Ts are even more a havsies between the R4s and R1s; still a good turf tires and great traction. The biggest thing about tractors is that they hold their value; they'll loose value once it's not "new", but there's a reason 30 year old tractors are still $10,000+. Your little BX is nice because it does not have any DPF (diesel particulate filter) junk on it. Keep the oil and hydraulic filters and fluids changes, it'll be good for decades.

Nice machine. If you feel bad keeping it because of its value consider a Simplicity Legacy XL. They came in 4WD and are probably 80-85% what this is for waaaaay cheaper. They were available in diesel as well. I have a Legacy 20 with a loader, snow blower, mower, snow cab and cat 0 3 point. High/low axle, locking differential, real hydraulic power steering. Had like 311 hours. Bought it in NH for $1800, for everything. They are good machines. People just pay insane money for Kubotas and John Deeres....

I got the same one even the same year! Mines only got 260hr on it and we use it a lot. You only gotta run the glow plugs for a few seconds, mine will fire if you just twist the key.
@jifi-0178
@jifi-0178 2 жыл бұрын
The glow plug time varies a little bit depending on how cold the temp. You can burn the plugs out if left on too long. You shouldn't need much more than 5 seconds for temps down to 20F. No more than 10 secs for temps down to 0F. For really cold places you would install a block heater (available accessory). As you can see, the tractors will start right up if maintained and with a good battery (just like anything else in the ARV fleet of toys.) I have the version that is 2 sizes bigger (frame-size) and enjoy it. Oh ya, the tires are type R4 (industrial = in between turf and agriculture). I have those on my tractor. The newest tire type recently on the market is now R14 (different tread pattern than R4).
