A Stator is part of an electric motor, depending on what it's the bit which moves or not. And the Rectifier is what converts the AC (alternate current/voltage) created by the stator to DC (direct current/voltage) to power your bikes electronics or the battery. Fun fact of the day.

I'm also no mechanic, but technically there is no reason to replace both if one goes bad. The rectifier is what should tendentially break more often.

And it also looks like the stator here is what is fixed, the armature is what rotates, making the electricity from the spinny action. This is quasi an electric motor working backwards.

Makes perfect sense. I was having the same issue on my Hayabusa here in GuamI. I replaced both the stator and rectifier.

I've faced this issue before, i changed the stator and rectifier but the problem wasn't the stator or rectifier, it was the rectifier's connector, one of the wire was eroded and was disconnected.

the gen 3 zx10r is decent but leaves a lot to be desired when compared to the gen 5 in a track day/ road race setup. i highly suggest attempting to trade your way up to a gen 5. 19 - 20 has the better head but 16-18 are still great.

Lost my wallet once when I didn't zip my pocket. I got super lucky riding back slowly and found it! The only thing missing was my ATM card and some Canadian cash. Getting a new ATM card was super easy. I felt the biggest relief when I found it! Glad you got yours back!

I own an orange gen 3 zx10r in the uk! lighter colour orange though. I love that bike so much. I had to replace the stator and rectifier, then check the main connectors as when It was wet the PC5 would play up lol. but all in all, its done 40k miles and its fast fast! I love the fact you brought ones of these to the channel

Honestly, I had this same Gen Zx10r. I had the worst wreck I’ve ever had and I miss this Zx10r so much. Doing a -1 rear sprocket, factory size front sprocket, flashed ECU, full Akro titanium exhaust, and I weighed about 227 lbs. did a gps top end run, tops out at 196 mph. I’m actually in the market for another bike so it’s either 3rd or 4th Gen zx10r

Good move! That generation of the ZX-10R is my favorite 10. I think that is the 3rd gen. You can probably get LED headlights where both are on at the same time for this bike. Just keep working with it and you can turn it into one of the nicest sportbikes on the road. I have a ZX-14R and love Kawasaki motorcycles. My 14 has been a great bike and has been as reliable as a Honda.

U can measure the stator.. multimeter on AC.. and measure all 3 pairs as it puts out 3 phase AC. U should get 30+ volts on like 5k rpm and all 3 should measure the same or very similar. If it does that… then measure the output of the rectifier. U said “this plug goes into the ecu”. That will actually go to the battery, i should get 13.5+ on midrange throttle. If stator measures ok. Rectifier output not there s a chance the stator s fine and u just need a rectifier Buuuut if u ride a honda or an aprilia v4. Just close eyes and replace everything including battery😂
