Those front squats are brutal. I can confirm, it's the breathing that gets ya. My max effort were sets of 3 on 405lbs, but the breathing was hard after 3 plates... uhhhhh! The things these guys do to themselves , am I right?

@craigwheeler4760
@craigwheeler4760 Жыл бұрын
@@Hello-uv3nz It was like 3 reps though. Also, I cannot , and could never do the form these guys have. They have way more shoulder flexibility. At 19 years old, I still didn't have the flex, so I had to overlap my arms in a "cholo" type position and put the bar on my neck with my overlapped hands grasping the bar backwards (look up this alternate form). The key to the front squats is to have a straight force column. Head up, everything perfectly aligned , or you risk dumping it or getting your shoulders hurt. The limiting factor on those is oxygen and breath. Very hard to do front squats the way I have to and still get enough breath in ya. I do narrow "knees together" flex squats instead. Those help with joint strength and support -- get your knees strong and your hamstrings good too. Light weight and focus on balance.

He'll need to win WSM or star in a movie to reach that level of fame. Strongman is still a small, very underfunded sport, that most people don't know much if anything about. His shows tend to be livestreamed, if you want to find ways to support him. Not sure what his next show is, but he did the Giants Live Strongman Nation Challenge: UK vs US yesterday, and decimated everyone on the log press.

Love how Trey is rocking the Shaw Classic shirt! He seems like a good dude. I wouldn't be surprised if he wins worlds someday soon.
