@RenRenRan7 жыл бұрын
Cool, she only lost 8 pounds of body fat, but it looks like she lost 15-20. Her face and waist are much slimmer, every part of her is tighter and more toned. I think this proves that when "losing weight" the goal shouldn't be 'lose x number of pounds' it should be live a permanently healthier lifestyle.

She lost 11 pounds total so she LOST 3 lbs of muscle. She killed it - that's just math though.

I mean if I was an investment banker earning six figures I wouldn't mind having a personal trainer on retainer. You realise I didn't actually mean tips right? :P
@ILeMaHPiX7 жыл бұрын
Kazubla yea you meant a personalised weight loss Programm, which is totally unnecessary to lose weight. its fine if you get the general Informationen you need to adjust your weight from a Professional, but even then the Internet is more trustworthy and has all the Informationen for free
@FB7768757 жыл бұрын
If you are a certain body-type yes. I am a really skinny girl, naturally. Finding tips to gain weight as in fats (because I barely have that), next to "eat more" and "work out more, because muscles weigh more than fat!", there is not too much to find. So I would love to get a personal trainer to tell me what the hell I need to do to just GAIN SOME WEIGHT GODDAMNIT.

100% she looks better after. not because of the weight loss but because it seems like she's happier with where she's at, and her skin also looks clearer after. in terms of body changes i noticed is her butt seems perkier from the side profile after, as well as her back seems more toned and waist more defined. it also looks like she lost some of her bloating which is probably in large part due to the diet change. also bless the emphasis on personal and mental health not weight loss

@jrod_0027 жыл бұрын
ossian tf they're both the same thing that makes like no sense at all
@KarlHerzog7 жыл бұрын
Diet makes people think "I should lower what I eat" while nutrition is simply correctly managing your macros in accordance to your goals and needs. Fitness sounds like a scary secret club kind of thing, training is a casual word that makes you imagine something anyone can do. That's what I collected from the phrase, it's just for purely motivational reasons I suppose.
@otherlily68697 жыл бұрын
ossian those are literally synonyms ._.
@lkae47 жыл бұрын
I think it was "diet & exercise" vs "nutrition & training." There's a big difference. You don't go on a lifetime diet but you can implement a lifetime nutrition plan. And if you have specific goals, you don't exercise, you train to hit those goals. Take athletes. They don't exercise, they train or run drills/practice because at their level, "exercise" does nothing.

CalvinHuynhFitness unfortunately its not obvious for a lot of people
@daria58467 жыл бұрын
CalvinHuynhFitness I was thinking the same... I always thought it was common sense to know that.
@crashboxshop7 жыл бұрын
I think yes it is obvious, but the difference in this program is it is based on your genes and what tendencies you are genetically prone to and how your body stores fat and all the other bad stuff. Most people don't know that information so they can only make a fitness and diet plan based on what they believe they might be prone to, not what they necessarily are. It becomes more a guessing game and thus never has permanent results.
@Skswords8257 жыл бұрын
It's obvious but it's not always financially available.
@jhaneeferguson29717 жыл бұрын
Yeah it's obvious everyone knows that, but not everyone knows how to get access to that information or can pay for it. A lot of people don't know much about their bodies which makes sense. If I asked you what genes you have and specifically how does your metabolism work, you probably couldn't tell me. Also a lot of people use the wrong fitness plans.Some people end up gaining weight in muscle when they exercise and not everyone wants that, some people want to lose weight but don't know the specifics of what to do. I know for me I gain muscle very easily, so when I work out I do more cardio and stay far away from weights.

@nevermore31937 жыл бұрын
the entire concept of this program is that eating and exercising the way society says is healthy could actually be detrimental to your health as an individual depending on your genetics. like the part where she is prone to holding on to saturated fats more than the next guy. it's about learning your brand of healthy that's unique to you. if you lose weight then I'd say that's just proof that the healthy eating from before wasn't actually very healthy for you.
@Caramelhime287 жыл бұрын
Simply Sookie actually it doesn't especially if you have thick thighs and a big butt, excess fat like that has no health risk in terms of heart disease or diabetes, at best the worst thing big thighs could do is cause people to have arthritis later in life
@chibiyumeusa7 жыл бұрын
As someone who is very overweight but eats well and is very active, carrying extra weight in and of itself can cause more problems than just arthritis. It puts added pressure on your heart and lungs and puts pressure not just on your joints but on your circulatory system as well. You are more likely to have vein insufficiency and orthopedic problems. To be fair, this is not to say that you can't be healthy and overweight, just that it doesn't do any good to try and make it out like it doesn't pose any complications in and of itself to carry a bunch more weight around with you day in and day out
@ananyamalhotra57937 жыл бұрын
we had height and weight in school and i'd finally become confident with my weight (45-50kg) and the teacher who checked your weight was a man, and he shouted out my weight and my height (166cm)and he said "you're heavy for your height" and i felt like breaking down because i've struggled with my weight for awhile and it really hurt. :'(

I'm literally shorter than you and weigh more. From what i see youre 5'4 and either 99 (45kg) or 110 pounds (50 kg) and for school bmi charts thats actually really healthy or drastically underweight so idk where your teacher is coming from, but youre definitely not overweight
@sabab27997 жыл бұрын
You aren't too heavy. Your weight if I'm honest seems decent for your height. I'm 5 ft 9 and currently 48kg even though my weight fluctuates but is around 52kg most the time. You should feel confident in yourself but a girl will always remember one insult instead of a hundred compliments. 💔💕

i dropped weight since i went vegan. cutting out dairy made a huge difference. i have high waist shorts that i couldn't get into last year when i was vegetarian, and i was able to get them on and close them today without a struggle! so for anyone trying to lose weight, cut out dairy and see how you feel!
@VictoriousBard7 жыл бұрын
That might be because dairy products are rarely low-fat (you have to buy low-fat versions specifically). Most people are used to drinking whole milk. More than half of the fat in whole milk is saturated fat. A cup of skim milk has around 60 less calories than the same amount of whole milk (with a comparable amount of protein). We really should be drinking 1-2% fat or skim milk, but most people drink whole milk. Personally, I stick to various nut milks because I'm lactose intolerant; those are also lower in fat, generally.
@loreenabradley7 жыл бұрын
amandamonium yeah absolutely. dairy is higher in fat and calories. nut milks are low calorie and have barely any fat, plus i find they taste better!
@98chicagirl7 жыл бұрын
I personally don't have a struggle with dairy since I don't like milk, yogurt, cheese, only eggs, but, I still need my chicken and fish, red meats I don't eat, usually only twice a month, it works for me, once I get older and move I'll try being vegan, I can't right now because my city is small and there's barely vegan restaurants and many grocery store's here are extremely poor in fruit.

This was such an insightful episode. I got my genome sequenced last year and already have a list of my important genotypes from Pronethease. In fact, I was able to look up whether I had the same SNPs as Daysha's. I'm interested in signing up for a tailored nutrition and fitness plan but I was wondering about options for people who already have their genome data. Can I upload my DNA file to the program? How would this affect the final cost?

A. De saturated fat is not all bad. Fat is fat and some people hold onto it more than other’s. Sure there’s a difference between saturated and unsaturated, but at the end of the day, it reallu just depends on how you body holds onto certain fats. 🙂

So basically you count calories and macronutrients and try not to eat processed food (limit saturated fat and sugar intake) and that makes this based on your science DNA testing? And on top of that your DNA tells you that you need to workout, little bit cardiovascular and resistance training. What a good DNA based, science plan you have there. Where do I sign? I hope my DNA tells me that I need to be in caloric deficit to lose fat and resistance training to preserve my muscle.

Not sure the gene analysis stuff is doing that much, it looks more like hiring a personal coach to force you to exercise harder than ever and a starting hardcore diet that puts nutritional value above price, enjoyment, everything else.
@carolinesa917 жыл бұрын
Maggie Wang well, the test determines what type of exercise and diet is best for you. For example, she was eating a lot of saturated fat when her body was already sensitive to it. Plus she tends to feel very hungry fast, so small meals during the day was a better strategy for her. In the end it is all about diet and exercising, but the DNA test gave some clues about the best diet and exercise for her.
@garethbennett37807 жыл бұрын
Saturated fats are generally agreed to be bad for anyone unless had with moderation. As a personal trainer who has also studied sports nutrition, I'd tell anyone to eat more frequent smaller meals. As for exercise, if you're trying to burn fat, all you're doing is using work as a tool to burn energy. All fat loss is, is an energy deficit. This seems like a fun experiment, but the biggest benefit was the personal training and motivating.
@carolinesa917 жыл бұрын
Gareth Bennett actually there are people that are more tolerant to saturated fats than carbs, for example. That's why diets such as keto and paleo made a huge sucess. Just not everybody is like this. Most people will need it in moderation, that's why the general advice is to have small portions of saturated fat rich foods.
@rumble19256 жыл бұрын
Gareth Bennett That's literally the point of this, that diet and exercise is not "one size fits all". Saturated fat in particular has gotten a bad rep because it's high in cholesterol - high cholesterol in your body is generally a response to inflammation though. But the single biggest risk of telling people to reduce saturated fat is that people are told to replace it with (often refined) carbs which increases insulin resistance, triglycerides and LDL, which leads to heart disease and diabetes.
@chrisfarmer68936 жыл бұрын
I totally agree, this is just pseudo science. Things like appetite are so influenced by other factors, you can't just say because of one gene your appetite will be a certain way. Yes everybody is different and certain plans or diets will work better for some people, but I am not convinced that this DNA thing will tell you that. You just have to try yourself and see what works for you.

Great progress, and she looks much happier :) I'm glad that my mom and grandma always fed me good food. When Daysha said that the new food was "super-healthy" I was like "... that's just regular food...". I feel that many parents must've fed their kids poorly when what is considered "healthy" should be the norm. I never eat coconut cream, and no one I know does either. No chocolate butter, no cookies on weekdays, no drinks with giant towers of cream.... it's sad when people consider it restricting themselves when they are not consuming things like that. I must be lucky to live in a place where such foods aren't considered normal
@katrice0047 жыл бұрын
Yes you’re very lucky to have had that privilege. Most people have to sacrifice eating a healthy meal to feed their entire families on small pay. Not knowing that you can definitely feed a family healthier options at low costs. It’s just about education honestly.
@anniegoldberg10647 жыл бұрын
You were very lucky. Very few people get to live the lifestyle you did, so make sure to not look down upon them. Many people can’t afford to eat healthy, or even eat for that matter, so saying that it is sad is just the beginning. Live a life of empathy, not sympathy🙃

Coconut cream is really not that bad if used in the correct foods like curries with lots of veggies. It's about moderation.
