Kleftiko and Stifado slow cooked foods are personal Greek favourites. Washed down with Mythos beer. Sorry if my post wasn't clear enough.

My husband is Greek Cypriot from Cyprus and a chef . I can tell you straght , that in Cyprus the greeks do mot eat this food . Yes , they have a nice village salad with thier main course and pitta bread not the round flat bread that is in this big box of food . In main land Greece you will find this round flat bread . This type of food can be bought at any tske away right across the country . It did not resemble Gyros as you would have it in Cyprus . Anyone can turn thier hand to opening a takeaway then design the shop front to look Greek encluding the inside of the shop and do thier homework to put a menue together PRETENDING THST THE FOOD IS THE REAL DEAL . This guy who was behind the counter is probably jamacan , so what part of Greece or Cyprus was he born in ?????.. Big con and truly a rip off for sure . If you realky want true Greek Cypriot food , then you must serch for one in your area or futher afield and you must go in with a greek friend if you have one so he can challenge the owner by speaking to him i Greek and then see the owners responce . What you will find is that many many times these so called greek owners are pretence , from Rumania, or Albania, or kurdish etc who have spent a fwe years in Greece , Create, the grerk islands or Cyprus and picked up the language and ate kebabs in pitta breed , deciding to try thier hand to PRETEND TO BE GREEK .
