Hey guys the only reason I mentioned anything about the audio is because I got the impression you were making a good go of it on youtube this time round and I just thought the feedback about the mic would be taken as positive feedback. When i made that comment I was well aware of your status as a funtioning stake shop as I have been shopping with you guys for many years at this point, as most of your subscribers probably will be, and I had no expectation for you to change anything at all. I've recently been riding flat on the Kizer Slimline 2 and I like them. Using 58mm Eulogy wheels on the inside with some 58mm Fifty 50 on the outsides for the magic rocker effect. They're nice but work better with some antis in them. I prefer the GC Mega for flat the most. Can't speak highly enough of the Mega. Surprised by the lack of wheelbite and feel so smooth rolling on the Revolver 64s.

I tried the 8 frames I thought would be best for flat set-up (aggressive). There was a few available models I didn’t try because: - The video would’ve been too long - I wanted to ride bigger wheels than they housed (Them, Create) - I thought they were more suited to Anti (Create, 50/50. Note: new 50/50’s are out soon though) - They are an indie brand that only sells direct and I didn’t have any available (There’s quite a few different brands out there) …the frames I tried were a genuine attempt to come to a decision about which frames I want to ride on my 909’s going forward.

Great videos coming from you guys! Love the way you chat about stiff and its not just one person talking (guess I mentioned that already). Jake, you can try the sliders on the Solas for cess slides. Ofc it takes away some of the soul space, but I still feel that topsides are fine (and less likely to roll on topsides). Have been skating like that for a while and really like them and the option to change the hblock depending on surface.

Perhaps you guys could go over your set ups as well, what you like for different styles of skating etc. Also, shout out to the Slimlines for skating flat. Yeah, I was thinking they were running too big wheels for it. He said 60mm on the inside, when I believe it's 58mm rockered down is supposed to be max. I recently mistakenly tried flat 60mm in mine and the insides would barely roll... I'm not sure how they were even able to skate it like they did

If you can get Oysi UFS screws these provide extra clearance. I've actually had 59mm wheels rockered up in them and they all span without issue.

Grew up in Florida, storms were common. They get named when they upgrade from a Tropical Depression to a Tropical Storm. The name carries on into the hurricane phase (if there is one). Every year we restart at letter A, and alternate male and female names through the alphabet. If the storm was deadly, the name is retired and won't be used again.

what has yet to be discussed, is the width of the groove affecting the maneuverability of the setup. isn't the flat setup with a looong groove riding straight forward like an anti rocker? Cheers guys :)
@xenophagia2 жыл бұрын
It's similar to anti-rocker as far as grinds go but allows for more speed and stability due to having all 4 wheels on the ground. Definitely better for commuting on your aggressive skates and skating on more rough surfaces. That all comes with a trade off of a little extra weight, of course.

Great video. I dont think the slimline 2s were done justice tho lol tge MAX wheel size you should ever put on them for a flat setup is 58. You should really be riding them with 55 or 56mm wheels setup flat. 60 is way too big esp for the inside wheels

You might be compressing the bearings when tightening the axle bolts? The stiffer frames would compress the bearings less and you'd get faster wheels. You can get "Speed Washers" on skateboards or longboards to prevent this and the axle's will be the same diameter for skates.

People can say what they want about K2 but the Unnatural frames were the best flat frame (felt kinda flimsy but the groove was perfection). I really wanted to like the Fluid V's but I never got round to skating them as they destroyed like 6 bearings just trying to get the middle wheels in (too tight, they ended up constantly crimping the bearing cases so the wheels wouldn't spin and I ran out of bearings).. Maybe I'll try them again at some point
@rollforever852 жыл бұрын
The trick with the Fluid Vs is to pry the frame walls open by wedging something rigid inside first, this way you can easily insert the inner wheels. I uploaded a video on this recently but I disliked my delivery so much I took it down haha. Just tried those K2 frames the other day.. definitely loving that groove!! Mine are long at 290mm, but I'm a UK10 anyway, so it's not too bad a match. Think they'd feel great after wearing in a natural rocker.
