Would you go in a -140C cryotherapy chamber? And do you reckon this was a pass-or-fail experience, considering I wanted to do 3 minutes and came out after 2.5 minutes? There is some serious science and benefits from cold therapy, but please be safe when doing it. We had such a busy day on this day. We also filmed another video that morning - getting professionally stretched! It is sometimes hard to be fully present when making these kinds of videos - I have a lot to think about in terms of cameras, microphones, batteries, pictures memory cards, etc and often thinking about the edit. That's what it's like as a one-person band. That's why it seemed like I was in a pickle... because I was 😂 Kudos to the nurse Claudia, she wanted me to get the full -140 experience and that meant not having the window down. But I hadn't planned for that and it threw me off. A lesson for me here (outside of the cold treatment), be adaptable and roll with what happens. Try and embrace it all even when it doesn't go to plan.

@@LauraTryUK Canadian Rockies. I can see the mountains from my picture window. I've lived beside them a lot of my life, on one side or the other. The side I'm on right now is an odd side as we have winds that arise that can warm things up suddenly. The local First Nations word for these winds, translated, means, "Snow Eaters," and it can go from a week of -30 or -35 then rise to +5 for few days before dipping down again. We had -25 and -30 for a week or so and today we are at +8 so it was a good day to go into town. Roads clear of all snow and ice. Bare and dry. (January usually has the biggest dip in temp here.) Leonardo DeCaprio did a movie in the area and thought such a dramatic rise in temp meant a global warming phenomenon until he was told it just happens. It's actually cooler on the other side of the mountains but we don't get the very cool temps like we used to. (Sorry, I'm writing a lot here) That's not good as we need a good solid chill to kill pine beetles. That's now a problem with warmer temps these past couple of decades with the evidence of patches of dead pines with their tell-tale red needles seen from the air. Love your channel!!!! Cheers!

You Rock!!! What about a follow up on the 100 pushups for 30 days challenge from ~1 year ago? It seemed 100 reps a day was too much to be effective for your body at the time. You've learned so much now that you could apply to an old challenge. Would you be interested in trying a new calculation to find your optimal rep per day load to see maximum increase in reps after 30 days? I always liked the grease the groove concept. Ur results really left an impression on me, and I'd be excited to see you try again but with a new more experienced approach. Hopefully, one with less pain involved for you. £150 for a chamber that uses liquid nitrogen instead of liquid air? I see someone in England fell in childbirth, maybe that's the reason for the lack of competition in the market. If anyone is interested in this, they know that you need to do about 30 treatments a month. In Poland, these treatments are even reimbursed by health insurance. In Belgium, where I live, the cost of the procedure is 30 euros and there is only one place where the chamber uses nitrogen air and I noticed that the employees know very little about how to use such a chamber to deal with diseases. The West of Europe is far behind the East in this field. For me, this chamber is much easier than cold water. I recommend it works. Sorry for the spelling, it's a translator

Interesting that you do daily ice baths but you kind of psyched yourself out with the cryo. But your friend made it through with fewer issues. Does look like it was the primal brain taking over, when you physically would have been fine. Was there anything in the planning/lead up to this that may have dented your usually strong will? You did row across an ocean after all. Was there stress related to struggling with another challenge that has filtered across into this one? While I'm certain I'd give this a go - I think I need to set myself using ice baths first. Even though I've taken cold showers for years. Theory and benefits of red light therapy would be a video I'd watch.

Hey Frankie, I think the pinned comment might answer your questions. In short, when filming things like this, my mind is so involved in cameras, angles, batteries, pictures etc it's tricky to fully immerse myself in the experience. For this I needed to be present, relaxed, and breathe. I was tired from the day and it didn't go as planned so didn't feel grounded.
