Some advice from someone that has been doing this going on 6 years now. Falling off the wagon is easy to justify and when you do it can be hard to get back on. I have been in line at the grocery store holding a container of Ice Cream and a pack of cookies after justifying that I deserve it since I have been good for 6 months on the meat and move out of line putting it all back when watching the people in front of me with what they are buying and what they look like. For me all it took was to give into a huge craving and going over to my son's house and eating half a peanut butter sandwich. Carbs are more addicting than any of the hard drugs and with everyone around you eating them they seem so benign. Growing up eating them has set a pattern that few have the will power to break. I have found that the best way to avoid giving in to the cravings is to watch all the sick people around you and to know that you have the potential to be one of them. It is the same as watching someone on drugs after kicking the habit and knowing what will happen if you don't resist. Alcoholics can't have just one drink and be good with it. Carb addiction has to be treated the same because it is much worst.

So glad your voice is out there. You are making this not just about needing to eat better when you are old and arthritic. I am on my eleventh month of carnivore because I am "old and arthritic"... well "old" meaning in my mid fifties. I tell people I need my body and my mind to function so I can't afford to go back. Meat is my life sustenance now. I just hope voices like yours keep plugging up the airwaves before the powers at be succeed in taking our meat away. Thank you! Ruby from Alberta Canada.

Chicharrones are my favorite carnivore snack. I live in San Francisco, and my favorite place, La Gallanita, fries them up fresh daily. It’s about 2 miles from my house, so I walk there on my days off from work when it’s sunny outside. Bacon, beef and eggs are my staples. Bacon fat and tallow are the only fat I cook with. I am down to 208lbs and jacked, from 320lbs and FAT, since November 2023. If you’re not sure about this stuff, try it for yourself. Peace, Max.

💯 pork rinds are basically the only clean snack or I should say the cheapest most available option. I personally stopped consuming them and it's rare if I do. Introducing chicken/beef bone broth as for collagen needs my body doesn't signal to me when at the store to purchase pork rinds. I'm not against them at all. When I'm at the store tho and shopping for my few items and I "want" them I'll buy and eat them.

@@chlamygamine2190 I loved the pork rinds as well. Just salted ones. I had to quit them and go strict lion diet. I just eat organic Ribeyes and hamburger meat along with Celtic salt and water. I am dropping weight and body is tightening up. I wasn't losing any weight because I snacked on the pork rinds a lot. Now I eat a steak or two and I'm good without the need to snack. But I still crave them when I think about them. I wonder why that is. Been on the lion 6 weeks.

@@kellyt5341 same. If you eat right snacks aren't needed but they serve a valuable part in someone coming over and transitioning (no homo). I'm not knocking lion I love eggs too much... Beef and eggs is good with me. If I ever do have pork rinds again it'll be with the meal as a side.

@@kellyt5341 if you're craving them from time to time.... Dunno.... The only thing they are high in other than sat fat and salt is collagen. I don't know if they are abundant in any other nutrient. Maybe introduce beef bone broth (you'll probably have to make your own store brands have vegetation ingredients) and see if that fixes that pork rind urge. Or be a little liberal with lion and have a side of pork rinds.

I cooked elaborate Morrocon and Italian and Greek type dishes with my own homemade chickpeas and lentils and a tons of veg. Now, I can’t even look at that gorgeous rainbow plate of plants as food. Eggs are great, basically nature's multivitamin. They have everything a body needs because making a body is their whole job. The only thing not inside an egg is calcium, because all the calcium is in the shell and typically leeches into the egg as the chick forms. I believe beef and eggs is the way to go. I used to do chicken and bacon, but the fats from those meats is high in linoleic acid due to the cheap grains those animals are fed. Cows too, but due to their specialized digestive systems they can break those PUFAs down before they get deposited into their fat cells.
@SilverPenguin-kc5qp

Pork rinds, bacon, hot dogs or canned meat is better than a tub of ice cream. Do what you have to in order to maintain the path. Dr. Ken Berry preaches this and he is right. After 6 years keeping the faith I have found that these smaller deviations is what many need to not lay into a whole pizza or an entire box of Little Debbies. No need to beat yourself up over a little PUFA now and again.

Sometimes, I forget to have dinner. Other than a cup of coffee in the morning (it's my one and only vice, but I haven't had any problems from it), I drink water only. I have no cravings or wants for anything else. I even went to the state fair two weeks ago and while everyone was eating all sorts of fair food, only the grilled beef ribs appealed to me! The reason carnivores get junk food cravings 2 to 3 weeks into the diet is because the bad bacteria overgrowth in your intestines (which live off of sugar) are about to die off completely, so they start sending chemicals to your brain to make you eat sugar and carbs. if you don't give in, they'll starve off in a couple days. If you do give in and then go back to carnivore, you'll get cravings again in another 2 weeks.

Always struggling to get to carnivore clean. Keto didn't work for me I always wanted to finish of dinner with a piece of bread. The last year my health was not so good, nothing permanent but poor circulation, depression, a lot of weigh gain, poor sleep. It was the hip and back pain that over the last 5 years had me on medication and unable to do much or walk very far that became very frustrating. I heard about Keto, then Carnivore. Keto has helped but stalled. I do notice after only 2 weeks on clean Carnivore my hip and back pain are manageable without medication. That is why I will persist on becoming clean carnivore. It will happen because I am stubborn.

Anyone any advice - my husband does nothing but complain that when he was carnivore last time he lost weight and since he fell off wagon for 6 months and now is back on he can shift the weight. I keep telling him it’s about healing first but he gets him self into knots over the weight thing. It’s so frustrating for me to listen to as well in the sense that nothing I say or do seems to help - and he hates giving up sauce - sweet chilli and chilli jam specifically. Any suggestions welcomed ?

I've been on carnivore for a year now. im not a morning person AT ALL. Everyone knows I always get up late. Now i wake up at 5 or 6AM every morning with so much energy. What's the best thing to do with all thay energy? Hit the gym. After a 2 hour gym session, it's time for 6 eggs + 6-8oz of meat. This is literally the best lifestyle ever.

Been strict carnivore for 5 months now. In the last week I've eaten strict lion however. I never cheat on the diet, the only things that go in my body are Red meat, pink Himalayan salt, and water from my RO filter. However my excema that I've had for years hadn't cleared up, or even gotten better. I don't get the massive energy that everyone speaks of. I'm still very hopeful, I know everybody needs different levels of healing. But I've seen nothing. I make sure to get 73/27 ground beef and I never drain the fat. The only dairy I've had in those 5 months was butter and cheese only once. Does anybody know of a way to speed it up or am I about to meet the diamonds on the other side very soon?

I struggled with terrible acne all over my body for more than 10 years and had a symilar experience to you, it started improving when I started introducing stuff that helps the gut miconiome heal, even If it's not carnivore. Mainly apple cider vinegar because of the live bacteria it has(organic, with the mother) and good quality blue cheese because of the penicillium roqueforti. Remember that it took your age minus 5 months to make the damage, it's going to take a lot more than just 5 months to even improve the symptoms, but be patient, you will get there! And I would give the apple cider vinegar and blue cheese a shot, the ACV you can have it with every meal, and the blue cheese you can have it daily to your taste. And it's important than you don't consume any other kind of dairy that is not aged cheese

Honestly, being Keto is good enough for me to decide to avoid sugars :) I used to eat crazy amounts of vegetables and carbs and I started to realize that the more that I ate, the hungrier that I was. I then started eating mostly nuts to try to feel full, but those were incredibly easy to overeat. Nothing has been like Keto yet, I am much more full even when not eating and I don’t gain much weight on a week moment. And the best thing is that it is a great motivator to stay away from carbs and sugars.

Sometimes I even throw in macadamia nuts, Dave’s killer bread, honeycomb and bananas etc. but I do think it’s important not to become cultish like Vegans and talk nonstop to friends, become pushy etc. also Ketovore helps your social life cuz you can ostracize yourself from friends by not going out and I got a newsflash, if u do that with a child your going to not only give it a eating disorder but it’ll get made fun of socially

That's a great introductory video to attract people to consider the carnivore diet. I really HATE to call it a "diet" as if it was some invention some dude pulled out of his ass. This is how we ate for over 3 million years and we just need to get back to it so our DNA and mitochondria can start the healing process because they're getting their proper fuel and non of the other bullshit!! Imagine if you mix the fuel in your car with peanut butter or water, how do you think your car will perform?!!! The human body is no different!!! Don't fall for the supplement ads and "food pyramid" that's nothing but a scam!!! It is a scam!! Wake up...Just check out Maggie the rancher (and many many others) who have been a carnivore for over 60 years. She's 83 now and she can pick up a man and walk up a mountain. Even Dr. Anthony Chaffee who's a ripped-young carnivore, couldn't keep up with her when he visited her in Canada!!! Do your own research and look out for yourself because no one else cares about you, let alone your health!!!

My "Whys" of why I started Carnivore on October 1are the following: Type 2 Diabetic, Obese, Lethargic I want to get off my diabetes meds. I will redo my bloodwork and see my endocrinologist in 3 months. Hopefully I will get off all of them in 90 days if not I will continue and redo bloodwork and see the doctor in 180 days. The thing is that I enjoy carnivore foods so it will not be that difficult. Since going Carnivore can be quite extreme physically, mentally and socially (in the beginning) I don't try to be fanatical/perfect I have decided not to drink any whole milk (which is the only dairy I have had problems with) or Kefir or Yoghurt (both of which I love) I am Bulgarian and my ancestors have been eating cheese and pork for hundreds if not thousands of years so I am including it in my menu. I don't overdo the cheese. About 100 grams a day. Eggs are a must for me and so is butter. And eating just beef doesn't feel complete for me as well even though I like the taste. I would add - don't be afraid to eat some canned meat or cured meat especially in the beginning. Developing the Carnivore habits can challenging initially. If a piece of cured meat helps you stay on the wagon - it can be a good thing. Before I started I spent a week researching all the farms (they have websites now which is handy) all the stores, comparing prices etc. And I was not prepared for how full you feel with Carnivore. Basically don't try to be perfect. Even Max needed some time to find what works for him. Wish you success in feeling better, reaching your goals and defeating the illness you are battling!

@@JoshTaylor-gd7ql Thanks! Just wanted to share my experience as someone that is on day 7 of his Carnivore journey. I did do a month of very low carb (less than 50 grams of carbs a day) and lost about 15 lbs (7 kilos) so my transition to Carnivore was easier. And I did a few weeks of intensive research. I was feeling like doing Carnivore but after the research I added logic to the emotion and my conviction is stronger. Bulgaria has developed a lot in the sourcing of food combined with the internet and apps recently. The farms that have grass fed beef have websites and you can order meat directly. There are online supermarkets that deliver groceries and their service is great. (prices are like in a regular supermarket. If you spend 60$ delivery is free) And all the major supermarkets have their brochures online. That way I can check all the deals in 5-10 minutes and if there is a sale I can buy more and freeze. Spending a bit of time to research the Carnivore diet reasoning and your local food supply opportunities makes a huge difference in being able to stick to the diet/lifestyle.

Most important: nutrient-dense, sufficient fat and protein, low-to-zero carb, animal fats instead of seed oils, and whole foods (i.e., as few additives as possible). Also, if available and affordable: local, seasonal, organic, pasture-raised, grass-finished, and wild-caught. The tricky part is such things as dairy and eggs. Many people can handle them fine, but some people can't. I've come to the conclusion that dairy is problematic for me. Or rather I can't handle anything other than ghee, butter, and raw 120-day-aged goat cheese. The higher carb content of milk, yogurt, kefir, and soft cheese still will elicit cravings. And I suspect most of the difficulty comes from cow milk, maybe particularly A1. But too much of the proteins in whey, even if from goats, can cause me issues as well. I'd probably be better off to avoid dairy all together. That is particularly true as it's hard to eat in small amounts. And in large amounts can cause weight gain, as that is it's purpose in promoting growth. But it's easy to rationalize because dairy is such a nutritional powerhouse. It's probably best to include eggs and leave it at that. Eggs are nature's multivitamin. There isn't any essential or conditionally essential nutrient that you can't get in eggs. But if you are able to controllably use it as a condiment, then maybe occasionally include some aged cheese.

Stick with it! Don’t give up! Are you eating enough ? I tried intermittent fasting and found I could not get enough protein and fat calories in my eating window ( I was down to about 1000 calories a day: not enough!!!!). My weight loss stalled, had some hair loss and felt tired all the time. I now realize that 3 meals( had to force myself to eat breakfast) with an approximate 65% fat and 35% protein ratio has worked for me. Also I no longer step on the scale…my health is measured by better well-being, energy, sleep, off meds,decreased inflamation( RA is all but gone) and my clothes “ fit better! I am actually good with coffee ( have butter in it and electrolytes) but I think I’m going to try and quit drinking it. Watch the processed meats ( bacon is processed unless you buy the expensive stuff) and read labels for hidden junk. Not sure if this will help you or anyone else but just keep at it! I spent 40 years putting crap in my body and I don’t expect to be fully healed even now after 2 years of carnivore but I just keep feeling better than I did yesterday. Had my regular smoothie at 7 AM and had cooked up a pound of ground beef with four eggs and some salt on top to get me through the day. Ate my lunch around 1 PM and managed to choke down about 3/4 of that meal before I was full. Fast forward two hours later and I felt hungry again so I finished off the last quarter of the ground beef and eggs. I am wondering why I ended up feeling hungry so fast?
@max.german

Often at the start people get hungrier because they are deficient in many nutrients. So when you start only eating meat your body is essentially like “give me more of this”. Aswell as the fact that switching fuel sources from carbohydrates to fats can mess with satiety temporarily. This will go away usually within 2-4 weeks. Goodluck.

I always thought that "dirty carnivore" meant that you basically ate carnivore, but added in some spices and various other little ingredients you needed to cook meals with a larger flavour profile. Most commonly people talk about black pepper, garlic powder, and chili powder. What I would call your "dirty carnivore" would be carnivore with a moderate amount of cheating. A diet I still haven't fully figured out what it even means is "ketovore", if it's similar to keto, but has more added meat to it, it sort of seems a pointless distinction. When I was eating keto, it was mostly meat anyway.
