I Tried Healing In WoW’s New PvP Mode (Battleground Blitz)

Been a healer for over 14 years... The most frustrating thing as a healer is when your teammates are useless... when they don't defend bases, spilled all over the map... don't protect their healers... or just simply suck... as a healer you cannot do anything... just trying to survive... When everything goes well, or I play RBGs, then the game is super fun and enjoyable... Battleground blitz is always 50/50 either fun or suffering... That's why I more often than not I switched to DPS so I can have fun even when my team sucks... can sneak out, kill somebody or just do something.... as healer you're stuck with what ever your team does...

This 100% is my experience as someone who mainly plays MW Monk and Survival Hunter. Survival can still be fun on a bad team.

1000% agree as a main holy priest. Have to go play affy so I can actually do something. This mode not really fun as a healer for me. Running around doing chores (capping) nothing to heal unless a random teamfight that useless after about 30 secs then u just lose because all the other bases get capped 😂😂. The mid tier bracket going to be a gauntlet , I can’t wait to see how the top ranks are going to play I know it’s going to be ultra toxic though lmao

this only made me realize how much pvp needs a rework or something as a standalone, more balanced and optimized mode. Fucking 13 seconds CC chain everytime you get into a fight is not the definition of fun

I have huge respect for healers but I’m never going to be one. You still have to interact with the enemy in every way a dps does, but you also have to pay equal attention to all your own team too, it’s twice the unit frames to follow and understand. Like if I lose track of my teams defensive/mobility CDs on my lock it isn’t really a big deal, but if you are healing and pop a big healing CD when your ally still had defensives and you accidentally overlap them you get screwed, shits extra stressful for no extra reward

Healing is fun and not even hard, you just need someone who can explain it properly and help you to clear your UI. I got a friend who just started playing WoW and he got 2,1k (I know doesn't matter much in pre patch) within 3 days and he is top healer pretty much every BG. He never touched a healer in his life in any game. And he is the type of a guy who holds his FD on his hunter until he is 20% hp...

I feel like there is extra reward for those of us that enjoy the influence you have on the match. It’s like the goalie in other sports. Sure, you can get blamed when you lose, but that feeling of standing on your head, making amazing saves, and securing the win is awesome. I think the extra reward is built into the act itself, it’s intrinsic, it doesn’t come from some award, pat on the back, or payoff that comes later.

This video reminds me of how much fun bg healing can be, the way two healers can end up feeling almost overpowered when they manage to help one another with dispels and cds. The only downside for me is that I enjoyed the shared responsibility of healing in RBG so much that I never became any good at doing it on my own in arena, sad times.

It turns out that when you rermove dampening from the equation healing becomes fun! I've spent the entirety of dragonflight trying to tell this to the devs :') All we need is something else to keep games short and sweet, it doesn't have to involve making healers miserable like dampening does.

I think dampening is fine it should just be capped at a certain %. So healers can still heal but not enough to where games go for 15minutes. Not being able to heal at all in deep damp isn’t fun

It works out in bg because the healers have more targets to heal meaning they spend mana significantly faster. Which is why dampening isn't used in bg's except for objectives like capture the flag and holding orbs

As a healer main, I can't wait for trying this in S1 TWW. I really hate shuffle as a healer (I had way better time climbing as DPS). I only think they really need to rework that Revival PvP talent. 2 sec immunity for whole team and dispel without any backlash is way too strong, especially in combination with huge HPS monks do.

I had a match where some stupid feral trained me for an entire game. 18mil damage all on me playing HPal. I didn’t die once, returned the flag twice and we won 3-1. I somehow had most damage taken for that BG. New BG Blitz mode is wild and people are ALREADY getting mad salty and just tunneling. But you can’t help but yawn emote at them when they pop out of stealth with ANOTHER opener on you. It is really fun so far, that’s hilarious

You can bind it. I think its F2 by default or something. Or its a shift/Ctrl modifier of tab target. Peep the key binds :)

Venruki: "If you're finding healing really boring, you just have to use your utility." Also Venruki at the start of the fight getting cc'd from 1:05 to 1:24 and dies cause he can't use an ability or play the game the whole fight... This is the only issue I have with healing, is not being able to play the game since the plan is almost always "Kill that dps and cc healer whole game"

Unfortunately not much they can do about it unless they just entirely remove cc from the game. Healers will always be number 1 priority because if they are alive no one on the enemy team dies

It's too bad they screwed most healers with the duo queue and tried to sell it as a healing bonus. I notice it's mainly duo queue healers that defend the mode, their advantage is just against the solo queue healers.

i hope bg blitz gets better. my experience is 95% of the games are lopsided stompouts. (wether u win or lose) i did BG blitz all weekend and i can only remember like 1 or 2 close games the rest were garbage stompouts... it just gets old its like they purposely make 1 garbage team fight 1 team that tries and also im getting kind of sad with how many mages/shammioes/evokers i get on my team who refuse to lust/warp edit: damn even in ventrukis video most of these games are not even close. winning by more than double points of enemy team lol. even when his team had 7 they doubled the team with 8. the matchmaking is puke!!!! fucking terrible!!!!! can we plz get some fun fucking games insteaf of every game being 1500-500 lol

I get that BG blitz doesnt appeal to hardcore arena players and to be honest i think we need to stop appealing to them. I mean look at the state of pvp anw arena. Half of the playerbase is getting boosted and the other 20 people are multi rank 1s who are selling the boosts...

Or maybe 3 healers 11 dps, make it kind of like a BIG arena, where u need to CC chain or the healers will cover each other and you wont kill them by just zerging it while other team focuses on CC and keeps DPS up peeling their heaelers, and then the micro battles in the arena would have more areas withr like 1 healer 2 dps who can steal a flag from a unprotected place with no healers, i dunno. damage is already very high in 2-1 solo shuffle so if you organize ur dps in a big zugg zugg battle looks like healers just basically get stunned and die in it or trinket and die after their major cd is down. What do you think Venruki?
