13:20 uumuu only does the chase attack once because you're playing with the qol mod on. Vanilla uumuu rolls a 50/50 for each attack, with the exception being if it has just used the same attack twice in a row, in which case it is guaranteed to use the other attack.

The video was really good and I enjoyed it a lot 😊 I just wanted to point out that at 53:45 THK does the self stabbing attack and you use fireballs while he is doing it. This is not effective as during this attack all damage you do to him is reduced to 1 (since it's really easy to deal damage during this attack). So just as a tip you should only use the nail to hit him while he does this attack so you can attack faster because the cast animation is quite long and to keep your soul for later spells that will deal more damage (or heal during this attack although not in this case because of the challenge). this helps alot - I think the best way to do the fight is to heal at that section as its probably the most optimal time to heal if needed thinking about a speedrun

Optimally it is faster to fireball during the stabbing attack as you can nail cancel with the fireball, this overall has a higher dps and is optimal as long as you end with full soul

In the dreamer sequence you can pause and so set a keybind for focus making it not a softlock, this is unlike after beating THK where it locks pausing until you focus

"fun" idea: low% gruz mother route. just as in regular low% we get 11% completion, but we beat gruz mother instead of picking up vs. very cursed route ive been thinking about for a while normally we only need vs to get to fungal, which we can do another way: after defeating gruz mum, do an itemless shade skip to blue lake, go down to city (doing few enemy pogos on the way), get a simple key, go to waterways, do a bunch of fluke skips, get to fungal through the cornifer room, do a shade skip to the bench by dashmaster, and epogo + mantis pogo your way to mantis claw. after this you can proceed "normally" until its time to get crystal heart, which i believe you can do dashless and fireball-less by doing a shade skip at the start, and then a bunch of precise jumps. might be worth checking this actually works tho gl if you try this abomination, and have fun with dashless nail-0-only watcher knights

the only problems with this route (for my skill) is obviously all the skips (though I could learn them) is doing the whole run without spells (which means this route is also a spelless run) and watcher knights without spells is gonna be pain also shade skip to dashmaster bench means you will respawn at kings station bench (as waterways one requires dive) meaning you have to do the whole of waterways twice... doesn't mean I won't try it though

overclockexe is correct, uumuu is rng without qol mod, and qol gives you the fastest possible set of attacks it's why in blue's streams for example, there's a "2 fast 1 slow no extra please" meme where uumuu is like a fast food worker or something (if i even remember where it was correctly cuz i might be confusing someone) because it can have some extra and it can have a different order so yeah im pretty sure the middle *does* always have one empty space though also i only just finished the saving myla part but the vid has been nice so far

Retry the no healing challenge... Except do it on steel soul, without focusing, using benches, quitting/benchwarping, or using hot springs. These can be done so long as you intentionally take damage after doing so in order to get back to your prior health (e.g: if you quit on 3 masks, when you return, you have to take intentional damage until you're at 3 masks). Can also be done to equip charms (again, make sure any health gains are reversed). Valid ways of getting health would include: lifeblood cocoons, Hiveblood (probably useless), killing a dreamer (or any other similar story segment that gives you an automatic save/heal), completing a new mask (picking up 4 fragments), or picking up a charm notch. This would require strategy for when to get dreamers, complete masks, get charm notches, etc. It might be tedious to do any% for a challenge like this, but it'd be awesome to do a "How much of Hollow Knight can I complete without every healing on Steel Soul?" video in which you try to maximize your percent completion before dying.

@MaskerHollowKnight I tried it some today; it's actually a reasonably fun challenge. And it's not absurdly difficult if you play safely, since lifeblood can be gathered almost infinitely. Quick rule clarification about charms: whenever you bench, you must take intentional damage so that you have the same number of empty/black/broken masks. That is, if you bench with 5 masks left and have fragile heart equipped initially (so you have 5/7 masks when you bench), then remove fragile heart (so you still have 5 masks but no empty masks), you must take 2 intentional damage so that you have 3/5 masks (three white, two empty). This prevents you from farming infinite health with fragile strength or similar health charms. (Basically, once a normal/white mask is lost, it can only be restored through getting a charm notch, 4 mask fragments, or a dreamer.)

If you want to cap your frames in Hollow Knight, you would have these options: 1. V-Sync - the baddest option because of input lag, and your monitor has to be on 60hz 2. Frame Capping with software - this option is not allowed in speed runs. 3. Frame Cap Setting - In the video settings of Hollow Knight, you can enable this option, but you have to change something in the Config.ini file. This file is located at Hollow Knight → Content → Hollow Knight_Data. This file can be edited with a simple text editor. There you would have to change the frame cap to 60. I recommend the last option, because if you disable the frame capping software, Hollow Knight might crash. And when Godhome Ending Low% and Dashless Max%? Also, you know you could have gone for the Godhome Ending for the No Focus challenge, to complete it true fully. But I think you just wanted to play the normal ending.

For a while I was wondering why you had to do Dark Deepnest in Low %, since Lantern isn't a percent, before realizing the only ways to save Sly are either beating Gruz Mother which is a percent, or through Blue Lake but there's no way to get there without getting a percent, or going through Dark Deepnest first.
