You are really strong to keep up with Ronnie's weights. Wow 😮😮

Ronnie was incredibly strong - and what's even more mind-blowing was he did a lot of his amazing feats during a contest prep. And considering the time period and the standards back then, he was actually on par if not better than a number of World class Powerlifters and Strongmen who were peaking for competitions back then. Absolutely phenomenal. Amazing performances, boss.

@@Egoliftdaily You’re absolutely right, 800 pound squats and deadlifts were very, very rare back in the late 90’s and early 2000’s which makes him even more phenomenal. He was right up there with the elite of strength sports which is insane when considering that he was dieting. I personally think that his dumbbell presses were maybe his most impressive feat of strength. To flat and incline bench 200 pound dumbbells in the form that he used and for the reps that he achieved is something I’ve not really seen surpassed to this day. Big respect as always, brother 👊🏽👏🏽

Great effort to emulate Ronnie. You did well. Ronnie was incredibly strong...and keep in mind you are doing this with more body than him and he was dieting while doing this...thats' insane! Not to mention your lifts (outside of the deadlift) were more Pendlay based which allows you to do more reps because you are losing the tension when you let the weights hit the ground. It just shows how strong Ronnie was...but you did a great job!

That was a great effort - your deadlifts are unreal. Ronnie in his prime was just like a higher life form physically (and mentally) when it came not only to his muscle mass but also his overall bodybuilding strength and muscular endurance. There are a few top powerlifters and other strength athletes like yourself here and there who can perhaps lift more for singles or very low rep sets on the big 3. But Ronnie's ability to do higher rep, high volume training with super heavy weights on not only the big 3 but also on every bodybuilding exercise across the board is perhaps unmatched. He was also filmed doing a seated military press with 315 for 12, bringing the weight all the way down to the shoulders. I don't know if I've ever seen anyone else do that. And he did 495 for 5 on the bench all the way down, and also I think it was 200 pound dumbbells for 12 on seated military press. Just unreal. Most of us are probably content to lift roughly half the weights Ronnie did in his prime. He's not been in such good shape in recent years, but says that it was because of botched surgeries and not because of his super heavy volume training or PED use.

@@D-Whey I agree. Ronnie was like a creature from another planet. He had so many different looks, from the 2001 Arnold Classic where he appeared to have no skin all the way to 2003/2004 super human mass monster. I personally liked the 2003 version as I loved the story behind it. After he lost to Gunter at the 2002 GNC, he came back with a vengeance and showed the world something we had never seen before or since. The Cost of Redemption is also my favourite bodybuilding DVD. The sport has stagnated or even regressed since the end of his reign. Heath was great, Cutler was good, 08 Jackson was impressive but ultimately it was Father Time and injuries that beat Ronnie. He was last champ in 2005 and objectively, we could take the 98, 99, 2001 Arnold, 03, 04 versions of him, place him on stage now and he would still more than likely win the Olympia 20 years later. Crazy!!! However, I will say that I am a massive fan of Samson and Andrew Jacked nowadays. His strength and muscular endurance were so impressive. In particular, his dumbbell pressing power and rows were amazing. As you can tell, I’m a huge fan boy 🥰🤣😬

Your deadlifts look nonchalant lol. Makes it look like you could beat the world record to be honest. Your right shoulder on rows seemed to be shifting back. Is your shoulder ok? Maybe I'm just looking at my phone in a weird angle too or it could be the lighting playing tricks with me.
@Redhulkatkinson137921 күн бұрын
@@spacemanwillieThanks brother. I think it’s the angle, but I have picked up more than my fair share of injuries over the years so who knows😢 I don’t tend to do my rows like Ronnie, so I was leaning on the go. I generally do them bent at the waist a little more in a power row style. It was good fun though 👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽
@spacemanwillie21 күн бұрын
@@Redhulkatkinson1379 yeah must be the lighting I checked again and it seemed totally fine hahaha. The ironic thing about injuries is the heavier we lift over time the better they recover, but that's also how injuries can happen, ugh...

Ronnie wins on rows but you got him on deads ..those 100kg rows must feel v light after them deads . Sergio for the win imo , twisting front bicep pose on the beach , never bettered ..😮.
@Redhulkatkinson137924 күн бұрын
@@Happy_Limpet Sergio was insane. His shoulder to waist ratio was crazy and let’s not even talk about the arms. His signature, overhead victory pose was like something from a comic book. However, I am still backing Ronnie. I agree, Ronnie’s rows were incredible and I genuinely think he could have been one of the greatest powerlifters ever if he had focused on it.
