Dropping down into the mineshafts you dug is incredibly frustrating in this game, since your horizontal speed never seems to come to an absolute halt, so during any drop into them, your ship inches very very slightly into the horizontal direction that you last moved toward, leading to you sometimes taking completely unexpected falldamage when the game detects you to have hit one of the ground tiles surrounding the vertical tunnel you intended to drop into.
@ondrejandydlohos3 жыл бұрын

Who else found the easter egg by flying straight up for a long time? I don't remember specifics, but it might have been in the paid version only. I would upgrade my fuel tank and bring lots of spare fuel, and fly straight up for a long ass time. No idea how long, I think I ended up taping my "up"-key. I think at 5000ft or smth you would get a little helper that gathered oil or something for you? But if you kept going up, eventually you would get a message from God, he would say; "Thou hast too much time on thy hands" I remember this very vaguely, maybe someone else remember more details.

Something modern computers cant emulate with this game is how slow teleporting works. My computer lab in 2005 was probably bought in bulk -- lots of computers, each pretty terrible. I remember losing my progress after using the quantum teleporter because the load times would slow to a crawl and youd be stuck waiting for the game to pick up. I actually progressed by ONLY flying back up. Each time. Dont get me started on the hidden gas pockets... After a point it felt like 100% of tiles were hiding them.
@Atylonisus8 ай бұрын
Actually since he brings it up around 6:00 I believe that gas pockets were made to be obnoxious, so that you were FORCED to buy and use TNT. Doing so would ensure that when the Boss came, you weren't unfamiliar with an item that some people would never use.

My favorite thing of this game was the shop music. I loved it so much!

0:35 Calls it copper, and less than half a second later screen says it's Bronz(ium). In all seriousness, this is a great game that I actually played myself a few months back. Nice trip down memory lane.

6:10 The game explains it as gas pockets. AN IRL hazard of mining.
