The thing with microwave cakes is that they're essentially steamed, rather than baked, which usually ends up with a more fudgy texture, because more of the moisture is retained. They can be really good, but imo they're always quite different to most baked cakes, unless your baked recipe has a very high liquid and fat content.
@romaverma68474 жыл бұрын

@Luna-rw5up4 жыл бұрын
Bakes puddings? I’m intrigued please explain.
@hirtisrandolph48434 жыл бұрын
@@Luna-rw5up so things like Banana pudding (jello/pudding mix with vanilla wafers) can be baked with a meringue on top, but a baked "pudding" is traditionally a English dessert where you take bread crumbs and soak them milk before baking them. Sometimes you get a cake consistency like bread pudding (Martha Stuart has an amazing recipe with Frangelicos Hazelnut liqueur) to a thick sauce (rice pudding). The flavors can range from sweet (Queen of puddings) to savory (Yorkshire pudding, something I'm working on next week) and you can mix in fruit, egg yolks (custardy), egg whites (meringue-y) and top it with glazes, soak it in sauces or flambé it ("Figgy Pudding"). If it's very moist/saucy and served with a scoop of ice cream (like molten chocolate lava cake which is baked with a liquid chocolate center) there's a good chance that it's a pudding variant. Even more colloquially, pudding is also British slang for the dessert course during a meal. "Then the waiter came back, clearing away our plates and returning with a bottle of sherry and the pudding."

Pro tip-if your bowl is too small for the sifting. Just hold the sifter over the bowl and tap it with a spoon. It’ll go down in and not over the sides. You could also just stir the ingredients in the sifter and it will sift down in. And maltodextrin might turn melted chocolate into powder very quickly.

Baking paper. If you aren't flipping a cake out of the pan (upside down serve) or cutting it while it's in the pan, you need to use baking paper on the bottom with strips coming up the sides that you can use as handles. The alternative is putting your cake in the fridge or a chiller until it gets firm enough to handle (this will ultimately make it more dry as it returns to room temperature).

Wow, I've actually made something before that you've tested in a video! And that's the 1 minute frosting. For a frosting that has powdered sugar it's good. I don't usually like frosting made with powdered sugar. And it's much quicker to make than my chocolate espresso ganache frosting. To get rid of the graininess of the one minute frosting, you can use the paddle attachment on your stand mixer to smooth it out. The microwave cake looks good too. I may have to try it out, even though I haven't found a chocolate cake recipe that replaces mine. Great, now I want to make a chocolate cake!
