Thank you so much for doing this! There are so many skin tints, and it can be anything from a serum that barely gives any coverage to more of a BB/CC Cream and we don’t have money to be buying 50 million skin tints to try. Before a skin tint was just that and now they make them feather light but with some good coverage, and everything in between, so this has been so helpful.❤

Abbey! You’re amazing! This video was so so helpful! I’m 45 years old and I’m a busy working mom and this video is priceless for me. Saving me time, money and the stress of hours of searching and buying products that at worst, just don’t hold up to their claims or drop unsuspected bombs like nasty smells or pumpkin face (orange) and at best, look ok upon application and then by the end of the day, I look like a hot pizza tipped onto its side. You know, like things (eye liner, blush, etc.) have slid around and are not where I put them in the morning. I caught one line you said that has changed my perspective. You mentioned something about how you put on a non-tinted sunscreen first… it never occurred to me that I could double up. I need a moisturizing sunscreen to start my face prep in the morning and then a tinted sunscreen for a more foundation function that plays well with my other makeup and dries matte. I have dark spots all over my face now (boo sun damage and tanning beds in the 90s), and I can get the spots gone with cream from my dermatologist but they come back the second my skin gets any sun. It’s so frustrating but I think I may be able to mitigate that issue by using sunscreen. My niece Nicci referred me to you and I’m so sold! Your videos are so helpful! Thank you!!!

This is iconic, but I don’t see my absolute favorite tinted sunscreen of all time: Bliss Block Star. It has a natural to matte finish, evens out skin tone, but most importantly, blurs pores like nothing else. For me, I have large pores on my nose that are very visible without a pore-filling primer, and this is the only sunscreen I’ve ever used that actually achieves that without clogging my pores. It’s also not overly-matte or drying. I have an oily t-zone and dry cheeks. A lot of makeup artists use this sunscreen as a primer. Anytime I wear it, people give me compliments on my skin. It has an herbal, lavender scent and is non-irritating (I have extremely sensitive skin). I don’t think I’ll ever stop using this product and singing its praises to anyone like me (combo skin, large pores, sensitive skin). 😊

For those like me who only use mineral sunscreens because of skin sensitivities to chemical ones, look carefully at the ingredients because I recently learned that some of the ones marketed as mineral sunscreens, i.e. the new naked Sundays, innbeauty etc…., actually also have a chemical sunscreen ingredient in the ingredients. It is the only way for them to create a ‘mineral sunscreen’ with a high spf that isn’t super thick like an all mineral sunscreen with a high spf would be, and they achieve it with the addition of ‘Butyloctyl Salicylate’ which is actually another name for octisalate. With Butyloctyl Salicylate they can boost the spf to a higher number without sacrificing a thinner, and have no (or less) of a white white cast, while going around FDA rules for what is considered a mineral sunscreen. Makes sense that so many of the ones labeled ‘all mineral’ end up stinging the eyes or causing skin reactions to sensitive people.

If you have dry skin in a very arid climate, these both are great for extremely dry skin that gets sensitive/fussy, and CVS (& possibly other drugstore apps) often gives $3-4 coupons or bogo deals on both brands, def the sweet spot for tight budget + temperamental skin with pathological dryness! I'm mixing Elta MD Clear with tinted version and it's giving me very natural looking finish. I have oily, acne prone skin and only Elta MD doesn't break me out and doesn't irritates my eyes. That's why I'm afraid to test something else, once I found the one. Thank you for the video!

OMG, what an incredible video! I cannot imagine the number of hours it took to put this together, with all the footage, filming, etc. Thank you for making this, it will be a great resource. After seeing all of the choices (and prices),, though, I think I'm going to stick to my OG DRMTLGY tinted moisturizer, and maybe branch out to the matte version. Have a great weekend!

Don’t know about the others but, the DRMTLGY products permanently stain clothing. If you wear it on your neck it will ruin your collar.

Wow, great breakdown! I typically use like 1 pump of the Cetaphil tinted sunscreen as like a sheer makeup product on top of my regular sunscreen. I just can't ever see wearing enough tinted sunscreen to get much protection! And don't even get me started on transfer to clothes... 🙄

This one isn't viral, but the Cetaphil one you loved in your last tinted sunscreen showdown is now SPF 40! It's sooo good.

Do you know if it's good for oily skin? And if it's waterproof?
@makaylasmenagerie5 ай бұрын
@@pajamamama5965 I'm super oily, and live in Florida. I use a small amount of setting powder and spray and it works great! (And I can still reapply without issue). It is not water resistant though.
@pajamamama59655 ай бұрын
@@makaylasmenagerie Thank you for answering my question! I was happy to see this was SPF40 now. I looked at the reviews on Amazon and people are complaining about the pump and the packaging. Have you had any problems with it? I like waterproof because then it doesn't get on your clothes. Have you had stains on the neck line for instance?
@makaylasmenagerie5 ай бұрын
@@pajamamama5965 sure thing! I haven't had stains, but I also set it (I use it as a foundation replacement) so that's probably why. I also get dressed before I put it on and only drag it down about halfway down my neck. The pump on mine has been ok, I'm on my first bottle though.
@pajamamama59655 ай бұрын
@@makaylasmenagerie That's great! That's exactly how I use my tinted sunscreens. I've had some though that are just remaining too dewey and smear onto a sleeve or neckline. My favorite is the Australian gold, but I can only use it in the summer. Otherwise it's too dark a shade and too drying for me in the winter months. Thank you! I'll try it.

This is soooo much work- thank you! Most are out of my price range since I use daily for face, neck, back of hands... so far I'm sticking to the Trader Joe's winner for clear and Bliss Blockstar for light coverage. Some of the ones here sell at the drugstore, but $45 for an oz of product (that you need to use 1/4 tsp daily) isn't really drugstore pricing. I think you did a drugstore one in the last year? Anyhoo...your showdown videos are so professional!

I love tinted SPFs and tinted moisturisers/BB creams with SPF. My top faves I tried so far were that dr Jart Premium BB cream, Heimish Morinaga BB cream, NARS tinted moisturiser, Rare beauty tinted moisturiser. i tried Colorscience but absolutely hated it, it was so greasy and the shades were terrible. I have the Tower 28 and Saie ones on my wish list for what seems like forever, so definitely plan on getting those as I have dry skin. Almost all the others don't meet the sunscreen regulations in the UK so I can't get most of the US ones, I really wanted to try that supergoop one but oh well. Purito and Erborian also do really nice BB/CC creams with SPF

My tip is to focus on finding the perfect colour - for instance Laura Mercier's tinted spf moisturiser in 'vanilla' is so good for me - then I mix it with just a pump of ByTerry CC serum in amber to give me extra glow and slip. So together I have perfect colour that looks like my skin, skin protection, coverage, and great hydration and skin care.

Despite being your skin opposite (I’m dry and mature) my three top from this align with yours…. Overall favourite is definitely the Ciele (I wear this as a foundation as it’s just so elegant and has zero flashback), the naked Sundays my second and the drmtlgy universal my third. All three stand up in the excessive heat in Dubai. And all offer proper sun protection. If I’m wearing makeup over I use the naked Sundays spf spray to bump up sun protection but if not these apply really well over themselves later in the day. Super good round up - thank you.

Wow, this took so much work and I really appreciate it. I do notice that many of them are actually marketed as foundation and it’s generally understood that you don’t get good sunscreen coverage with those because people don’t put on enough of it. All are absolutely amazing by themselves, maybe a little powder on top (I have oily skin). I’m obsessed with buying/trying new skincare, but I don’t really know why I bother with new SPF because DRMTLGY’s spf are just that good! I have an auto-replenish set with their regular SPF so I’m never without. THANK YOU ABBEY
