Way to go Becky, but didn't need convincing, have been roadtriping around Europe for the last 3 years. Charging is rarely "wasted" time as almost always combined with meal breaks etc. The instant torque of an EV is addictive. The exhaust note is the only thing that the petrolhead in me misses.

Yup, at 'worst' you can take a nap as most EVs (modern cars) are really comfortable. With an EV you an use the AC (heating / cooling) and seat heating while charging without any compromise so it's like a small cozy cabin in the (urban) woods!

I won't buy one until they get the formula right. I have no need for a 6 figure white goods with 906bhp that has 216 miles of range as per the Autocar test. I'm happy you've convinced yourself that the enforced breaks to fill up are acceptable, for me this is the ultimate deal breaker. As somebody who travels for work, I just want to get to where I need to be which an ICE does far better than an EV.

Colin Chapman’s whole ethos with Lotus was light weight (even to the exclusion of safety… RIP Jochen Rindt) so an overweight SUV with a Lotus badge would give him 50 fits. That said, I’m not anti electric cars and that looks like a nice one, bit out of my league price wise, but very nice.

Hey, I drive over 32,000 miles per year. My company allowance wouldn't allow anything like this. I currently have a Seat Leon 1.5 TSi which is coming up 100k miles and has been faultless. Still hasn't had front brake discs and pads. I'm not against EVs bit I struggle to get how I would benefit when I do 250 miles per day in Cumbria with limited changing

You're in a tiny minority though. For most people an EV would work fine. The average journey in this country is barely into double figures.

What is this BS? 1242miles for £100 ? This car does 2.2miles per kWh , public charging can be 80p per kWh . This trip would cost nearly £500 using public charging. Complete bollox 😂

Lotus needs to improve the service they provide to their existing customers rather than trying to get new ones with promotional videos like this. From what I've heard, their customer service and support is shockingly bad once the customer takes delivery of their eletre.

The Espirit, Eclat ,Elise, Elan Lotus used to make some great looking cars with something decent under the bonnet, then came along this ugly looking lump. No thanks. Jungle juice will do me just fine no plugging in and waiting around nonsense.

I hate them myself but you have to give her a bit of leeway given the car games her hustle (reviews promos etc) and these things are unfortunately the future so she will be around a lot of these things for work. Her get out of jail free card for me is her personal car collection ( terrible mpg left right and centre hahaha) proof she's one of us 💯🤣
