I have a 2020 JLU diesel (lifted on 38” tires) and towed a 20’ travel trailer (3k lbs) from Florida to California. I have a sway control hitch on mine and it towed with very minimal issues, even passing or being passed by 18 wheelers at speed (70-80 mph). If you continue to tow I’d look into a sway control hitch. Safe travels!

Yep. Nailed it. When I tow with my lifted ‘22, 65mph max. Can do 70 but downright dangerous

Awe Kevin,,, been there done that. So we rented a huge haul. One load, one trip. Gas cost less back then. The plus was we paid more for the rental but WELL WORTH it. Less fuss, less wear n tear on a new vehicle. Returned the truck I haul at our destinations. Wow. You went through the wringer. So sorry. I’m not trying to sound mean, it’s just lesson learned. 15:47 Thank you for sharing.

I’m 58 years old and never owned a Jeep until yesterday. I bought a mint condition 2012 Jeep Liberty with the tow bar attached. It’s only a 2 wheel drive but can tow 5,000 lbs. I’m a Jeep man now. Subscribed ✔️ Nice house man!

Avoid squat/sag by installing supplemental airbags in the coilsprings. It's about $100/pr.

I really wish Jeep would put the 2.0L turbo in the Gladiator. The 3.6L is alright, but it lacks the low end torque. With turbo engines you can at least add a bigger turbo or a software tune to up the boost and get more power after the warranty is over. I live in Powder Springs GA. I just subbed to your channel. Have you done any trails in North Georgia yet?
@goodoljackburton92112 жыл бұрын
Nah. There’s no replacement for displacement.
@user-tb7rn1il3q2 жыл бұрын
The 2.0t is a much better engine. They should get rid of the 3.6.

Would never buy a tiny gas turbo engine for a Jeep. Unless it's just for getting groceries I guess. The diesel in my gladiator is the best engine I've ever had in all the Jeep's that I've owned and I'm averaging 22mpg on 37's.

Depends on tire size, most dealers change wheel and tire combos and different sizes change the Speedo.
@sonnynick12 жыл бұрын
That 2.0 is just not enough displacement for a vehicle that size. I guess if you trade every few years it would be fine but keeping it long term I feel would be a headache and costly. Thanks for the video

I have a 2019 Unlimited Rubicon with the 2.0L turbo and 35's. She'll walk a dog stoplight racing once that Turbo kicks in. I tow a 21' camper trailer about 3000lb loaded. Highway speeds up to 65mph no problem. Yes the old 4cyl. sucked, this new one for the JL series with the turbo and the 8 speed tran is much better. 290lb/ft. torque.
@Outlaw_Media2 жыл бұрын
The new Defender has a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 296 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, its about the size of a Ford Explorer. Do you have anything to back up your claim, or is just your feelings?
@brianbusch28402 жыл бұрын
I have a 03 Jeep TJ with 6.2 LS3 430 hp and my 2022 JL Rubicon feels like it’d keep up. That little 2.0 engine is pretty impressive but doesn’t feel as comfortable as a big V8. An LT1 w/8 or 10 speed is ideal setup for JL. When I hit 100K out comes the 4 cylinder and in goes the LT1.
@Outlaw_Media2 жыл бұрын
@@brianbusch2840 I would mind trying a swap of the new 3.0L twin turbo in my Gladiator, jeep is putting that engine as an option in the Wagoneer sometime next year from what I read.
@Bacardi3832 жыл бұрын
Not sure how you figure the 2.0L isnt “enough”…. I tow all the time with it and handles the loads like a champ… I towed my daughters Jeep YJ on a tandem trailer at 70 mph. Towed it and did it with better fuel economy then my 2020 Power Wagon

I've towed with a Jeep YJ, Honda Civic, Suzuki SX4, Honda Accord, and now a Subaru Crosstrek. They've all done fine for light towing. I can borrow or rent a truck if I (infrequently) need to move something really heavy. Most people aren't in construction or farming or the like, where they need to tow substantial loads frequently.
