Totally Fair! Dollar Store version was a total sham, but the mold from the $50 one, well...still shouldn't cost that much for so little. I say hit up Michaels or Jo-Ann and get some good molds then buy the baking soda, citric acid and maybe food coloring. Just too much work for something that dissolves in about a minute. 💚❤️☺️💖

I don't think the cheap kit was that bad, yes it was unable to produce the advertised amount. But it functioned and the bath bomb made was nice. It could be an ok kit to buy a child who has never made bath bombs before and is interested in craft.

Hey! I've missed this series! Though, I feel like I should be saying 'Don't waste your money!', it really is fun to watch you try the products out as well as give your genuine opinions on them! XD But...I will say that when I started watching the video, I was kind of skeptical of both kits, didn't really favour one over the other since bath bomb kits are pretty finicky...and by the end of the video, I wasn't really wrong or right about either!

@Superfreaky22 жыл бұрын
Its not a great idea to just buy stuff without doing research, resin is not a toy. You need nitrile gloves and a proper respirator mask to wear and to work in a ventilated area with no pets around. Do not use resin without taking these steps. Also just a tip for the future a lot of the supplies on sophie and toffee are the exact same as some on aliexpress and can be bought much cheaper on aliexpress. Sophie and toffee is great for some things (their exclusive moulds) but other items are vastly overpriced compared to buying them elsewhere. I have a lot of experience with buying something on sophie and toffee, finding it on aliexpress a few months later and ordering from there but expecting it to be poor quality compared to S&T only for it to come and i find it’s the exact same item.
@IrelandFyre2 жыл бұрын
I do all my resin work in my backyard, best ventilation there is, lol, but it is too keep potential fumes away from my children entirely. I've made a LOT of bath bombs. I understand that when you're testing a kit, you have to follow the directions. However, if you use just the baking soda and citric acid, add a bit of cornstarch, and they will harden and retain their shape better. I, personally, use 4 different oils in mine to moisturize the skin, a little mica for color, and enough essential oil to actually give it fragrance. You have to consider that, if you are going to use it in the tub, the water will dilute the fragrance and the oil. Make sure to pack them down TIGHTLY. Use a mold you can leave it in. I like silicone molds because they let go of the bombs easily. This is the most important thing when making bath bombs: LEAVE THEM IN THE MOLD OVERNIGHT TO DRY! 30 mins or whatever it said is not nearly enough. The bomb will probably start to crumble if you take it out too soon. It will definitely lose its shape. The best thing to do if you want to make bath bombs is to go on the internet and find a good recipe. It took me a couple of tries to find one I liked. Also, remember, the climate in your area can really make a difference in how much water to use and how long to leave it in the mold to dry.

I’ve always interpreted everything you “need” as the items you wouldn’t already have- in that you need them. Most houses have bowls and measuring cups so you wouldn’t “need” them to provide that thing? Just my thought process (what would I do with a bunch of single purpose cheaply made measuring tools? 😅)
@smethingcool5132 жыл бұрын
Ideally these are for children. If it’s a gift they can’t open it anywhere and enjoy. Can’t bring it to a friends house in case they don’t have the other things. Can’t open it outside without opening before and prepping the items you were missing. And not all households do have these items so it is excluding a lot of poorer children. We didn’t even have measuring tools until a week ago and have lived in this house for 6 months. Sometimes this is why they are buying kits, to avoid buying individual items. Better to include everything you “need” to complete the actual project. Needed to make the project, then it should be included. That’s how we should interpret it! You can recycle many plastic items or donate them if you are not one of the people in need!

The bath bomb kit you put up on the screen as something similar to the expensive one I have used with my daughter. Its got a similar gimmicky turning mixing container that actually works because it tilts on its side and locks into place to help the mixture flow through better. I found the faster I turned the handle the better it mixed. The powders come coloured just like the expensive bath bomb kit but each colour is a different sent. Yellow smells like bananas. 🍌 So if you get that kit to try I believe it would be worth your cash or sceptical cash. I personally would say its worth it and besides the fact that the mixing machine is a little bit tricky and kinda has a stiffness to it but it's worth it. They fiz well too. Also missing sika alot could she please make an appearance I absolutely enjoy watching you both its quite amusing and also missing angel he is just adorable and would love a cameo with him to show up in it.

I have a decently professional bath bomb business so for the flattening I think it’s that they are not compact enough or are not left in the mold or squeeze long enough to make them. The measurements for the dollar store how it’s oily yes is from coconut oil. You don’t usually need as much as you think you do, a little goes a very very very long way.

Our dollar stores in the states, mainly Dollar Tree, are starting to go up in price slowly. There are a lot of 1.25 USD things and sections where things are higher than that in price as well.

DollarRama is comparable to Dollar General in the U.S., where prices can go as high as $ 10 depending on item. Dollar Tree may have $ 1 or $ 1.25 / item.

Even Five Below has an "above $5" section, but they do actually have some decent stuff.

@@tamarakaddatz9955 DOLLORAMA only goes up to 4$ as someone who worked there recently but there is talk about bringing it to 5$ like what dollar tree did.
