As a linguist and native English speaker ... I agree! We would say "my time is low", because time is seen as uncountable "stuff", but in the context of a chess match the seconds definitely ARE countable 🕑🕜🕐 and anyway your English is utterly charming 💗

I'm English, and I would say "My time is short", but I like "My time is few" and I really want to start using it in sentences, just because it's fun and is likely to confuse people about whether I'm really English or not. But Alessia's English is beautiful and always 100% understandable (which is the main thing).

You probably already know this, but don't worry about how you say things. Everything you say is very, very easy for a native English speaker to understand. Even if you say something differently than a native English speaker would say (like "my time is few" or "porpose"), it's fun. You speak with so much joy and excitement that it makes everything you say sound fun and enjoyable. Just keep being you! :-)

@@chiryalways3546I don’t know honestly It varies, a lot I know people who have online ratings of 1800 who are also 1800 FIDE And I know people with online ratings above 2000 who have FIDE ratings in the 1500s It varies…… a lot Remember, most online chess is blitz/bullet, and there’s a lot of people that don’t really have any clue wtf they’re doing and just play quickly and aggressively And those people tend to do much better in online bullet and blitz, than they do in OTB games especially tournaments 🤷🏼‍♂️

I don't know about anyone else, but I found the 2nd game very instructive, especially talking about wanting to push the c pawn. I usually have the knight there, and now I won't, because I'm seeing this defense more often now. One thing, though, I hope all my opponents try to play like Magnus...because they can't and then I win. 😃

Oo, yes! "I am in a time crunch" is a fun way to say that you are feeling pressure (maybe panicking) because you are running out of time. If it's bad, you could say "I'm in a real time crunch!" Or you could say "I am eating a lot of time" (just like "I am using a lot of time" or "I am wasting a lot of time")
