11:00 white plays Nf6 check, sacrificing the knight, pawn takes, queen g4 check, king can go only to g7 or g8, next move is pawn e5 attack the bishop and at the same time prepares check mate with Qg6, then Qh7. Not sure if there is a way to stop it! If pawn doesn't take the knight, it's also a fork and white wins the Queen!
@mahmoudhussein9975 Жыл бұрын
Q g6 it's not checkmate because the pawn Will take
@jaakkokarki1778 Жыл бұрын
Also the rook can counter attack the queen by sliding to g8. And after the queen moves the bishop can go the c5 and chec you.
@jaakkokarki1778 Жыл бұрын
Then the rook comes to g6 and neutralises your attack.
@ศกรโสมาภา Жыл бұрын
I think the better way to do it is to play Qh5 attacking the h pawn after sacing the knight instead of Qg4+. If Bishop take on f4 to guard the h pawn (which is probably best move) you take back with the rook. If king comes to h7 you play e5+ and you win back a piece with rook lift incoming. If king goes to g7 you rook lift immediately. Rg3+ is coming next and if queen can take h pawn it’s mate. King can’t really guard the h pawn because both e5+ and Rg3+.

1st game - White to play Knight f6. Giving check, after black takes the knight with the pawn, white gives check with Queen g4. If black King moves to h7, white can just move forward pawn e5 giving a discovery check and winning the black's bishop.

Doesn't Kh8 prevent this ?

11:01 white to play Nf6 pawn takes queen g4 check the best move for white is king h8 and pawn to e5 after Bishop move queen f5 and any move by black it will be checkmate on h7

If you play the e5 the Rook can move to g8 and counter attack your queen. And when the queen moves the bishop can go to c5.

20:45 Knight to D5?
@artemeditativa Жыл бұрын
At 20:45 I thought about rook b8, attacking Queen and bishop, Queen has to go somewhere protecting the bishop, but let's say Queen a6, proposing exchange to win the pawn (it doesn't matter...), then Queen check on c3, king moves and then take the bishop! AM I RIGHT?! Alessia, you have to answer in the future, please!
@mahmoudhussein9975 Жыл бұрын
Queen check on b3 not c3
@mahmoudhussein9975 Жыл бұрын
And also rook b1 not b8
@charlesdarwin180 Жыл бұрын
Insane move seems like it might be NF6+. Black has to take on f6 because the knight is forking the king and queen. Black has only one move to capture the knight on F6 and that is g7 capturing f6. I'm assuming the followup is white plays Qg4*. This is possible because of black's pawn still on d7. Then black has to play King h7 or King h8. Probably King h8 , not be in the check line of the light squared bishop. Then white can play pawn to e5 attacking the dark squared bishop of black and opening the light squared diagonal for white. Black would probably play the rook over to g8 attacking white's queen. Then white can just play Queen h5 threatening to take on h6 with check. If black defends with Rook g6, then white captures the dark squared bishop on d6 with the pawn and still having a strong initiative.
@Oale100 Жыл бұрын
Very nice and precisely explained. But what if after e5 the dark square bishop just gives a check on c5? King moves and black has time to defend, or am I wrong?
@charlesdarwin180 Жыл бұрын
You're right! That's probably why the evaluation bar prior to knight f6 is only slightly in black's favor. So, it looks like black will get to play pawn d6 after the BC5 check. And that will still be a game.@@Oale100

10:59 Nxf6 gxf6 Qg4+ Kh8 seems like a promising attack, threatening e5 and Qf5. 20:47 Rb1 Qa/c7 Qb3+ wins the bishop
@@PerditiousRuin Yeah, I wasn't really sure of the continuation after Qg4+ and Kh8 lol. I was thinking of f5 after that and a rook lift, but it's not really forcing enough. Do you have any idea what the right move(s) could be?
@PerditiousRuin Жыл бұрын
@@nc1609 I considered the rook lift but Black gets time for Rg8 with tempo and Bf8 (if I didn't calculate incorrectly). After Kh8 the natural reply would be Qh4 to threaten taking on h6, and there is no apparent way to guard the pawn, as after Kg7 exf6+ Kg8 Black gets mated. Of course all of this would be clarified by running the engine. Do you have a line for the f5 move?
@nc1609 Жыл бұрын
@@PerditiousRuin Actually I think they can hold prevent mate if they give back the piece when we play e5 (Kh8 Qh4 Kg7 e5 Bxe5 fxe5 Qxe5 defends Rxf6). The advantage could just be activity and king safety. Let me know if you go over it with an engine, it's an interesting position. f5 is probably just a waste of tempo and a mistake. Did you have any ideas on the 20:47 position? I just realised I messed up the calculation for that too. Rb1 Qa/c7 Qc4+ should win the Bishop I think.
@PerditiousRuin Жыл бұрын
@@nc1609 After Bxe5, not fxe5 but Qf5 and mate is unstoppable? Thus why I amended my line to Bc5+ Kh1 d6, as I don't see any other way to stop the queen + bishop battery. I was tired from the calculations for game 1 so I haven't watched game 2 yet but I will update on it.
@PerditiousRuin Жыл бұрын
This is a series I can watch, aimed for ambitious players whose goal is 2200+. Game 1 calculation test, Nf6+ gxf6 Qg4+ Kh8 e5 Bc5+ Kh1 d6 Qh4 Kg7 exf6+ Kg8 Qg3+ Kh8 Qg7#?

25:35 Why you can't always rely on engines 😉
@rayramos2644 Жыл бұрын
It's interesting how high level players are able to quickly dismiss the engine's recommendations. I think Levy from GothamChess said it best, "Stockfish is like that snobby college professor telling people you're wrong" (paraphrasing). I'm still a beginner but every time I see the engine making all these call outs--it does feel like I'm back at college T___T.
@DanielSong39 Жыл бұрын
Probably for the same reason low level players dismiss the piece sacrifices High level players know that they can sacrifice a piece and get checkmate 15 moves later Low level players, well, they're down a piece, the end

It would be great if you explain us the blunders. By asking the audience to tell why that was a mistake, well, it's a bit annoying. Yes, we can figure it out eventually, but it kills the vibe. Instead of reducing the time or increasing the elo how about changing the play style instead? For example: trying to reach 2000 playing only gambits, trying to reach 2000 playing d4 (with white) or c5 (with black) every game. Stuff like that.

There isnt one like game review, however the game review isnt needed to analyze its just very convenient. You can just use the evaluation bar to see what moves were good or bad. Might even be better as youll have to think a bit more about why a move was bad.
