I Tuned the X5M, then this happens!

I ran one step cooler plugs, did oxygen sensors , fuel pressure high and low sides and still had the issue. Changed transfer case fluid, trans fluid and reset adaptations and it seemed ok, came back. Replaced diverter valves and I never had another issue. My point is that while it may just be a simple plug swap, it can be any number of things to trigger the dme to back out. Good luck

Bren Tune did my 2016 X5M and my 2011 911 Turbo S. The guy is an absolute genius when it comes to tuning cars. He turned then into absolute monsters with no problems years later.

Same thing happened to me on my X6m. Crap tune/map. Had to remove the file and went to a reputable dealer and use a better tune/stage 1 map. So far so good. No issues.

My 2014 X5 50i got a drivetrain malfunction as well. Just means there is a misfire so just change spark plugs and ignition coils.

Look into the Noelle performance tune no misfires or drivetrain malfunctions. Bootmod3 will definitely burnout your coils all you will get is code after code with the cylinder # that keeps misfiring and eventually burning out.

I have bootmod3 stage 2 tune on my F10 M5 I’ve changed plugs, coil packs, and fuel injectors, also cleaned my MAF’s but still get the drive train malfunction idk wtf is going on

You need to gap your spark plugs and replace all 4 o2 sensors and replace them every 10k-15k depends on driving habits, that’s must if you want your engine keep healthy!

I love videos... I have a 2015 X6 M F86 with an S63 engine. Had a cylinder 7 misfire code, but I can't figure out how to remove the engine sensor module wiring harness to remove the other end of the injection tube. Do you have a video of removing that engine sensor module wiring harness? It will really help so thanks in advance.

I had x5m and m5 f10 , same problem, when you tune it and bad spark plugs, it will miss fire, and will trow the code for transmission and couple cylinders will stop working and engine will shake, it does for the safety of the engine, you need new spark plugs and after it check again, why it misfires if it does again

It’s not covered by warranty. However, I believe their tunes are conservative. Once I do the plugs it should be better. I run their stage 1 on my F80 and it’s flawless.

Installed a Dinantronics Sport Performance Tuner on my '17 X5 35i M sport... this cursed thing shut down my battery twice, had it towed. Water pump running out of tolerances, engine lights. Took out this damn thing and ALL those problems stopped immediately. I'm not doing this ever again!!!

I decided against Dinan because of the higher price and it was a piggyback. I much prefer a flash tune. The Bootmod3 has been trouble free since I changed the spark plugs. I’m sorry to hear about your troubles.

Yes. It’s been great now! The plugs/coils were worn. After replacing them, the tune has been nothing but fantastic! With my mileage, I’m sure the drivetrain error would’ve occurred at stock power level eventually.

Oh also, does bootmod3 allow you to change the sport display on the f85 with the new power output? And does the exhaust burble setting work on it too? And top speed limiter removal?

@@Skamiiii The Sport Display will change automatically is once you upload the tune. yes, Bootmod3 allows you to remove the top speed limiter in the app. Unlike the S55/N55 engine, Bootmod3 doesn’t allow changes on burble settings for N63/S63 engine but they do offer an aggressive burble tune with stage 2 with downpipes.

Flash tunes that change the computer software can, but piggy back tunes such as Race Chip and JB4 only communicate with sensors making it harder to detect.
