So in regard to the Christian holy sites in the mod, the ones in Kyushu (the big southwestern island) are the castles of Japanese Daimyo who converted to Christianity during the period, and formed the base of Christian power in Japan at the time. Nijo is likely because it's the seat of the Shogun, and would be important to Christians trying to maintain power in Japan. Osaka, I have no clue.

The holy site of catholic in this game is based on the present of catholic at the sengoku period, where nagasaki and osaka had the most important port and largest western present at that time. Shimabara in the otherhand was due it was where the shimabara christian rebellion taken place. funai is the capital of the first christian daimyo otomo samitada. Kyoto though probably just because its importance im japan history

I would guess Kyoto was chosen due to the early mission work of the Jesuit movement in the surrounding area, and the forming of the Miyako no Bikuni (Nuns of Kyoto) in 1606.

Eh, Hideyoshi was megalomaniac. He basically just got lucky that he was able to pick up the pieces after Nobunaga died and no one actually capable was able to contest him. Nobunaga, on the other hand actually made the conquests that laid the foundation for both Hideyoshi and Ieyasu. Hideyoshi just went off to Korea and died.

Honestly if Shiro Amakusa (often referred to as Japan’s version of Jesus) won his rebellion the impact on history would probably have been massive. I imagine they would have abandoned isolationism, probably wouldn’t have gone imperial, and *maybe* wouldn’t have attacked the Americans so stupidly.

I find it amusing myself because that "Wikipedia tab" could have been far more useful for me in Europe. Growing up in the region of the US that I did... well... in public education we learned all about the Warring States period of both China and Japan. I know more about Khmer Empire than say, anything in ancient central Europe. To the pint where I never even heard the phrase "Holy Roman Empire" until I was doing personal reading on my own time in high school. Would be a nice feature if more games/mods did it. Kinda like old Age of Empires 2 where in a time before easy access to online encyclopedias and such you could just go "And who the hell are the Goths?" and read up on it in game quickly. Particularly for a game like CK3 which is more politics, culture, and relationship based.
