I think my Doberman would be a Fairy/Normal type! He’s a gluttonous boy who loves naps so much, but his eyes are permanently in “why are you yelling at me” mode no matter how spoiled he is. I call him Pea-Pie so maybe he has a loafy “pie” shaped form when he sleeps. He was definitely a prancy fairy type as a baby and has evolved into a loaf now 🤣

Lemon's design is super super cute! My indoor pets would be the following: Bella: Normal/fairy. Shes a lab, so eats everything but is super adorable Kaspa: Electric and maaaybe normal or fighting? Hes a mutt who just has static going through his head. I say normal because hes kinda generic dog but fighting cause hes an amazing guard dog Noddy: Fire/fighting. My cockatiel who is all sass and no chill. She would 100% know all the element bites too

These look great! Also way better than the recent gen designs. I have two dogs husky mixes. my dark rott mix one is definitely a dark type, my all white husky shepherd mix would have to be Dark too possibly mixed with ground because she digs a lot. But she also loves water so that is a possibility. I have a sphynx cat and he has to be a fairy type because he is pink and always hidden in a blanket somewhere. I have an orange tabby with a lot of energy so fire for her, and then I have a fat domestic short hair cow type that is probably a normal type. He has snorlax vibes.

I used to have a ferret named goose - I think he'd be a dark/poison type. he was a thief and always stole my socks, and of course had the infamous ferret funk smell to him. I imagine he'd probably be somewhere in the middle of a thievul, stunky, and furret.

Adorable!!! I would catch every single one for my team and love them forever 🥰 I have two cats. I think one would be a ground type because he likes to burrow under blankets. I think the other would be a fire type because he’s very feisty. He also spooks easily, so I also think he would be more of a defense Pokémon than an attack Pokémon. I’ll definitely try to draw them sometime! This was really inspiring - thank you!

I'm going to apologize for this because I'm sure no one cares...The "horn-like" part is called the occipital bone, or the "bump of intelligence" as we liked to coin it. It's very prominent in dogs going through puberty but tends to be less visible when they get older. Of course, scent hounds are typically the exception. I wish I had even a fraction of your talent and confidence. Always such simple but beautiful work. Lemon's form is really, really cute, not that they all weren't.

I woke up after having a crazy dream, which was a cross between Dr. Frankenstein and Pokemon Blue (old school). I listen to YT falling asleep, so wondered what id been listening too. I saw this in my recent history and realised I'd first listened to this whilst asleep. My mind designed Pokemon as you were describing, in my dream, and those of my dream were nowhere near as amazingly creative as yours. Neither you nor Hunter were in my dream, but Nick was Gary. I have three dogs. A cocker spaniel with a tendency to eat socks and plastic, she loves sniffing around outside and eating random plants. She’s a Grass-bug type I have a pit mix as well, who’s got so much energy and athleticism, with a tendency to bounce off walls as well as some severe impulse control issues despite years of training. Definite Fighting type Finally we have my wonderful elderly lab mix who can do no wrong. When she was young she was faster than a cheetah and her stare hides some fierce intelligence. I drew my cat as a Pokémon and my neighbour said the lived the idea and asked if I could do one of their cat... I can't say this in a nice way but it looks like Hitler, it has the black on the top of his head and a little black patch on the top of his mouth. My boyfriend and I nickname him Kitler, the neighbours don't know about it but yeah... As soon as I mentioned it to my boyfriend he asked if I would make him a poison type so I am putting it off as much as possible

Honestly Kanto being just boring is what makes it kinda pique pokemon design to me? Not that I like Kanto that much, it's just because it does Pokemon design philosophy so well. It's like the very basics of the idea of a Pokemon, like "We need a fire type. Oh we can base it off a Kitsune, and spin the design with some unique shapes! Big, ribbon like tails that lay over one another with an elegant, sleek body should do it. Whats the name? Well name it after it's nine tails, Ninetales!" basically. I find that Pokemon tries to keep the designs 'boring' in some sorta way to keep it consistent! Big on shape language, simple colors, and appealing motifs to the design (ex: remove Pikachu's stripes/cheeks and suddenly he feels super naked. Remove his tail and suddenly he just looks like a normal mouse.) Anyway, loved your designs and the inspirations, I really enjoy hearing more about your pets and their habits! I think your ideas are really solid and I definitely agree the later two in the vid started to feel a lot more like Pokemon, although all the designs are really appealing regardless.
