Tbh, I feel like the most cursed part of your fleshy pitcher plants to be the eyes. Not the fact that they have them, but the fact that despite all the other changes to the original concept, the eyes are still a normal cartoonish white and black, with no iris or red bits.

Fun fact! Victreebell is based on and looks almost exactly like real-life pitcher plants! Many of them grow and hang in the air with the 'mouth' at the top, secreting digestive fluids to consume any unfortunate bugs that happen to crawl or fly inside...

I think it would be cool to do realistic Ghost Pokémon, introducing bones and pieces of the original creature? Perhaps translucent clay to make some bits creepier? What's even more disturbing is how the orientation of the eyes changes as it evolves. At first the eyes face the mouth, but when it reaches its final form the mouth is on the top of the head, and the eyes face forward.
