Just a tip if you play this again, you can take multiple scrap deals at the same time and just go from one job site to the next, filling up the truck the whole time. there's no time limit for working in your factory, so once you come back with your haul, you can take as long as you like messing around with all the machines, and filling your contracts. the clock will stop at 21:00 until you go to sleep.

Near me, if you deliver it yourself, they pay you. If you have them pick it up, they take a fee out of the amount they would have paid you. If the pickup fee is more than what they would have paid you, then you pay them the difference. So I can kinda see where he's getting confused. Kinda.

People usually pay the company for taking away the trash. Currently a big case in court in my country about a company that got paid a boat load of cash to take trash that they would sort it, but they actually just threw it away in a bunch of places completely unsorted and the clean up fees are going to be astronomical, not to mention the environmental damage.

To be fair to Matt, it looks like whoever scripted the text in this game isn't a native English speaker. That first bargaining scenario does sound like the NPC was paying you based on the text exchange. And around here, you do have to hire, as in pay, a company to come pick up your junk. To me, Matt's initial impression was completely valid, and this is a fault of the game design.

A business has absolutely no financial incentive to pay a recycling company. They can always just toss everything to the landfill. In that sense, it makes sense for the recycling company to pay the business
