I am 50 and I, too, have used an entire bottle of this serum. As a chemist, I can confirm that copper compounds are always either blue or blue green, so the blue in the serum is entirely expected. It does have an unpleasant (acidic/slightly metallic) scent, but I used this in the evening and it didn’t linger at all, so I don’t mind it. I am also a Tretinoin user and get Botox, so I wouldn’t really notice if it impacted wrinkles. It didn’t have any negative impact on my skin and I liked the hydrating effect for sure. I do like the serum and I will probably buy it again at some point, but I am now trying a homemade batch of Ascorbic acid for the next few months. I want to give C a fair shot and find that making it myself at a comfortable concentration and using it fresh while it is clear is probably better than paying a lot for it online only to get it and be yellow already. I am using the Ordinary’s Resveritrol and Ferulic Acid serum to mix with the homemade 5% solution of Vitamin C.

I just started rotating vitamin c serum and ordinary buffet with copper peptides. I had used vitamin c every morning for years. Ordinary is definitely more moisturizing than timeless vitamin c and never causes irritation which occasionally good a vitamin c serum can do. For example, I can’t use timeless vitamin c on my neck but I can use the ordinary buffet. Also if my skin is super dry either because of the weather or tretinoin, the ordinary is a better choice than vitamin c . I have acne prone skin and haven’t had any problems with The ordinary buffet.

The Ordinary should be paying you directly for this video. I have never purchased something from the Ordinary because their packaging has no information on what the item does for your skin. I understand that their website goes into detail about each product but, that is not helpful at all when shopping in store. I have browsed the section at Ulta before but, have never purchased anything because literally none of their packaging says what it does, what it's for, skin concerns, skin type etc. I confidently purchased these copper peptides yesterday 100% because of your video and no other reason. Thank you for being so informative!

This serum has had the most profound impact on my skin! And that sentence infuriated a sales associate at Ulta who told me "none of the Ordinary's products are designed for the longevity of your skin" as she pushed a $95 Clarins serum on me. She then insisted that if I stop using the Buffet + Copper peptides serum, my skin would just "go back to what it was before" but if I used Clarins products, that wouldn't happen (???). I would love a video guide to recognizing empty sales rhetoric in skin care. That entire situation was infuriating.

Love this serum! I just starting using it and I will definitely repurchase. I do still use vitamin C in the morning and I use this as a treatment every other night. Also to those concerned with skincare not having lasting effects..Honestly with skincare I have found that if I’m lazy for a week or 2, my results from any product definitely fades (including if I don’t cleanse properly). Nothing is permanent and if I run out of something and I’ve missed it then I repurchase. I’ve learned to not overthink buying skincare products. Purchase items you wish to try and see what your skin loves because everyone has different preferences.

Huge fan of the ordinary and completely agree with other comments that yes you can have the big ticket product (who does not love Dior, Chanel, clarins and Estée Lauder) but the ordinary is much much more accessible. The start of it all I have to say though is the AHA & BHA Peel, get rid of all the debris and then you really get the benefit from the layers of wonderful solutions. I have been super curious about the buffet and the copper so these will be the next step, however dont underestimate the power of the niacinamide and the argireline solution. Agree also I have knocked vit c on the head I just think it makes your face sore and unfortunately I've said good bye to retinol too. Great walk through Abby very thorough as usual

I am 72 and haven't used much in the way of skincare. I did use retinol for about 2 weeks in my late 20's. I've hated sunblock way back when it was15% at its highest otc. The only thing I've done that was proper was not going to layout in the sun to get a tan. I've never been a big fan of beaches anyway. Being a gardener and bicyclist, I got plenty of sun anyway. About a decade ago, I began getting sun damage showups on my face, neck, decolletage, and lower arms. I went to a dermatologist to evaluate for skin cancer. Nope. I asked if he could remove them without scarring, and again he said Nope. I thought to myself, "Eh, I played at the party, so now I dance with the devil", and resigned myself to my fate. Then I was reading an Italian article about French Snail harvesters having soft lineless skin on their hands. That's because they are dealing with mucin, which happens to be in demand for Korean skincare routines. Really? Long story short, one google after another led me to The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid 5% in Squalane. I spent the rest of my online time reading about their products and what the ingredients were. I do have some chemistry and pharmaceutical background. After a couple of weeks of visiting their products and reading customer reviews, I ordered 3 small bottles. I began using them on my left arm for a period of 2 months. Then, after 3 months on my face, neck, and decolletage, I jumped into the Hallelujah Line. I don't use 12 products daily. 2 are for hair and brows/lashes. But for face, neck, and decolletage? All those scaly growths have vanished with no scarring or traces of them. By far not the least of all that's been accomplished, I like the way it feels on my skin. I don't feel like I smoother under tons of products nor do I feel like a greased pig. I even gifted my 2 daughters introductory gifts of The Ordinary. One called me after 10-days of use and just to tell me how much she liked them and that she was already seeing improvements. By the way, I am a very fair skin person.

Of course there are and copper peptides is definitely one of them! This product is now holy grail for me. I wish I had before and afters but it did amazing things especially for my sagging areas. It's truly a miracle worker, it's the only thing I added in to my routine at that time because it wasn't cheap I wanted to make sure before I repurchased it if there were really any changes. It's softened my elevens, turned up the outer corners of my eyes, firmed up my jowls, cleared up fine lines and even soften forehead wrinkles. I hope they don't change the product or the price because I use it every other night alternating with retin A.

For me, I just didn't see any benefit om top of an already comprehensive routine (retinoids, AHA/BHA, etc), and it didn't do more for me than the regular Buffet or the Hylamide Sub Q. In fact, I strongly prefer the simple Matrixyl serums from Timeless! Honestly, even if I did see improvement in my skin I probably wouldn't have repurchased. The copper smell didn't bother me initially, but as I continued to use it the smell started to make me nauseous if I opened the bottle too close to my face. I have a somewhat sensitive nose, though.

Hi Abbey! Thank you so much for your review 🥰. Between DRMTLGY’s Needleless Serum and The Ordinary’s Copper Peptide 1%, what would you say you noted in terms of differences between the two? I know Needleless also contains copper peptides, so perhaps Ordinary has a different strand? If you could perhaps provide more insight on what you noticed the differences in the two, I’d greatly appreciate it! I plan on picking up one of them :). Thank you so much ❤️

I have been too nervous to try this out of fear that I would break out! I really want to give peptides a shot in my routine, but don't want to spend a fortune. I think I will pick this up sometime soon! My skin looks amazing at this point due to my skincare dedication, BUT I'm almost 36 now and have been noticing some changes---I could use some extra plumpness for sure! My skin is not as plump as when I was 20. Thanks for the video!

@@AishaJoon I'm still using this because I believe it is something that helps over time. I haven't noticed any major changes, except some brightening, but this has been a wonderful base for me in my morning skin care routine. I have dry skin but do wash my face in the mornings (I have a retinal I use at night that makes my face look yellowish). The Serum keeps me hydrated so I do not need a moisturizer and can just go on with sunscreen.

I purchase a lot of The Ordinary skin care products and I am so confused Can I use all these products together? 1- Squalane Cleanser 2- Amino Acids + B5 3- Lactic Acid 5% 4- Argireline Solution 10% 5- Retinol 0.2% in Squalane 6- Natural Moisturizer Factor + HA 7- Marine Hyaluronics All these products I used for the night skin routine but I am not sure if I shouldn’t mixed the products together. I still have more product but so far this is what I used last night.

Been using this since it was just launched by Deciem, of course I didn't know much about how cool copper peptides can be at that time, no one was talking about it, but when I walked into the Deciem store and they just got the stock, I said " Wow that's so blue", and that, was how I jumped on board. Have been using it on and off as it doesn't go with tretinion, or other antioxidants I'm using, but now I am trying to find it a permanent spot at night as I don't need tret daily. And when I'm not using this, I'm always using the other buffet, my skin is telling me to buffet it up!
@DRVenard Жыл бұрын
I use it with tretanoin every night. But I don't get the flushing effect from the copper peptides. I was never a blusher. And I'm older,so could be why. The ONLY reson they say not to, is because the flushing effect of copper peptides can increase irritation and, yep efficacy of the tretanoin. I've had zero issues.

@@savannahwallis8304 pretty good, my skin is actually really good for my age considering I didn’t start caring for my skin seriously until the age of 50, copper peptides have made a difference, also, I didn’t realize you had to moisten your skin before you apply HA, I guess you live and learn. Also it’s all about having good serums, you don’t have to have an expensive moisturizer, just something to seal those good serums in, I have been watching a lot of dermatology videos, lol!

@@_danila5185 I've been using every day for over 2 months. And also tretinoin for a bit longer than that - my skin is better than it's ever been. It's bright, clear and starting to reflect light on it's own from the high points. I was hoping for my forehead 11's to be gone (I'm 40). But they are still there - though, probably less noticeable. I think given my age and lack of sunscreen in my youth, 10 out of 10 recommend.

Any recommendation on what moisturizer to use over the this peptide serum? Can be confusing since the Ordinary's website page for this product recommends staying away from "strong antioxidants" in conjunction with this serum. Most moisturizers are formulated with antioxidants, whether it be niacinimide, vitamin e, or even stable forms of vitamin C, green tea, etc. Does it really matter if our moisturizer has any of these ingredients?

I heard a skin care influencer talk about how you can use vitamin C and then a “buffer serum” like Geek and Gorgeous Stress Less and then use a peptide serum and the vitamin C won’t negatively impact the peptides from working. Is there validity to that?
@thearcheologist66792 жыл бұрын
It’s about the skin getting back to the right PH. So maybe. I myself if not too lazy wait for another 30 minutes or so after tret or vit c with some other serums in between and snail mucin too.
