I have been using Mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris) both internally and externally for over a decade. I have used it in the practice of moxibustion, as a healing incense, as a tea and as a tincture. This is an incredibly special plant with a unique personality and specific healing attributes. It also has a particularly 'wild' temperament. This video elaborates on my thoughts about this herb after a decade of working with it and getting to know it on a personal level.
Here is a link to my full length film which explores all aspects of Mugwort in detail: • Mugwort ~ Medicine & M...

Yes it can be an excellent medicine for unblocking stagnation and releasing pain. This video is actually an excerpt taken from the film I released recently called Mugwort ~ Medicine & Magic. It contains a lot more information on all aspects of this plant. The link is in the description above if you wanted to watch it 👍🏼

This is the first time watching your channel. I like the way you convey your knowledge. Can you address specifically how to use mugwort for dream work? What form to take, when to take it before bedtime etc.? I also read that itmight be taken in combination with wormwood, although I generally prefer simples. Any thoughts on this, or caveats? Again, I will be exploring more of your content in general. Thanks!

Welcome aboard! For dream healing I would personally recommend fumigation of the dried herb - I don’t just mean incense here - I’m talking specifically about sprigs of the dried plant being burned. This will produce exponentially more smoke than a processed stick of incense, which will in turn produce a stronger psychoactive effect prior to sleep and of course within the dream state. Tea (from dried herb) and/or tincture (from fresh herb) can also be very useful, although the benefits build more gradually. However, in my experience the combustion of the plant and subsequent inhalation of the smoke is the quickest and most effective way to produce the psychological effects associated with this plant. The full documentary on Mugwort entitled ‘Mugwort ~ Medicine & Magic’ goes into much more detail on all of this. The link to that video is in the description above or at the end screen of this video.

@@NyisharMany thanks for the guidance! I am not so interested in dream healing but I am following Tibetan practice to achieve dreams of clarity (as defined by Namkhai Norbu Rimpoche in one of his books). But I'm sure the same procedure will bring results for that as well. Again, thanks.

@@ralph0149 Dream Yoga and Clear Light Yoga (of the Tibetan tantric tradition) are both essentially practices of dream healing. Of course, successful practice can potentially achieve much more, but for the most part during the practice, the channels between the mind, body and subtle energies will be interfacing completely consciously. This results in a great deal of healing. Many dream yoga practitioners escaped Tibet after the Chinese occupation, but not before being brutalised by the Chinese military. Many monks and yogis healed their broken and disfigured bodies through dream yoga practice and eventually traversed the Himalayas on foot into India, when prior to that they were crippled and unable to even stand up. So in practical terms the division between 'dream healing' and Tibetan dream yoga is initially a superficial one - the details might vary somewhat, yet as you pointed out, the processes will achieve very similar results for the most part, at least up until a certain point.

@@Nyishar Yes, this is the impression I got from my reading. Of course my dream practice is nested in the wider context of my overall spiritual practice. What I like about the Tibetans is that it all converges on the attainment of clarity, as opposed to the work of LaBerge.He also derives from the Tibetans in part but stresses the dream rather than the dreamer. Tough slogging either way! Take care.

I really appreciate your perspective, the recent offerings have inspired me to learn more about mugwort, in particular, moxibustion. Is there by chance an online resource that you are familiar with that you could recommend? Thank you
@Nyishar
@Nyishar 10 ай бұрын
I trained in the Tibetan style of direct moxibustion but there are many different styles all throughout Asia and also from the Galenic medical tradition. Moxa is an exceptional treatment when performed correctly and in response to accurate diagnosis, however there are people and certain conditions that are not at all suited to moxa therapy. Moxa can be a very strong medicine! As with many healing modalities though, a somewhat diluted and over-simplified moxa practice has developed, especially amongst western practitioners, many of whom don't understand fully what they are doing. This has led to some below average information being shared online during recent years. There is no substitute to training with an experienced practitioner, however, if you want to research more and learn about some of the intricacies of Asian moxibustion and its incorporation of Mugwort, I very highly recommend Merlin Young's book on the subject called 'The Moon Over Matsushima'.
