Ooh, thank you! I've been doing high decline rate online surveys as a side hustle. I'll give this a go.

Hi, great video and great content, thanks. I live in an area of Italy with a lot of unemployment and a lot of exploitation. If I decided to dedicate 8 hours a day to this App, do you think it could become my main job?

Hey Nick, I have been watching your content for some time and have found it very useful so thank you 😊. I have some somewhat unrelated questions to the above video… Rather, they are based upon some of your previous uploads… Whats your experience using vanguard outside of your stocks and shares isa allowance? General advice seems to be to contribute more to your pension or overpay on your mortgage (this seems strange to me with rates becoming so low however compared to the rate of returns through the stock markets at least) However, if you’re wanting to access money earlier than retirement age as a supplementary aid to living costs say, this isn’t really viable. In short, would having a vanguard general investment account, once your stocks and shares isa is full,for the year for any additional funds, be the next place place to go (assuming obviously that one’s risk tolerance is sufficient) or am I missing some other area first? Thanks very much, Paul

Hi Paul, great question. In short, everything you have said it well thought out. The only considerations I might make before your conclusion is. 1) Could I contribute to my partners S&S ISA to max their allowance (this is then legally their money so if you're not married then there is a risk to this of course). 2) Have you maxed out your children's JISAs. After this then I would strongly consider just going into a normal account. Remember you can take a tax free allowance on any capital gains each year which you can re-invest. So unless you're planning on having over say... £120,000 a year in their, then it's not an issue. It's actually more than that as you also have a dividend allowance to use also. Obviously not finance or tax advice. Just how I think about these sorts of problems from my situation.

Hi again Nick… a couple of follow up questions to your response if that’s okay? When you mention £120000 are you implying that if that sum of money generated a 10 percent return then you would be able to take this without any tax… I.e. the £12000 capital gains allowance? Am I right on thinking that if you didn’t sell above £12000 in any one tax year you wouldn’t pay any tax at all… ever? Thanks in advance, Paul.

Hey Creation - good question! The app used to have this feature and for the life of me I can’t find it. Checked pushed motivations and everything, not sure if they have disabled it. Will ask them!

Do you have to pay Tax if you earn over £1000 a year from Roamler? Using it alongside usual 9-5
@nickjm41082 жыл бұрын
Based on UK tax law as I understand it (note - I’m not a qualified tax expert), yes.

It something I thought about. It's not too hard to get registered as s/e on HMRC. Beyond that I don't know much, but hope to find out.
