Adding to a comment below: I am a biochemist/NIR spectroscopist and I am well versed in all of the scientific proof behind the red/NIR LED wavelengths for collagen deposition, lowered inflammation, pain treatment, etc. But, I am interested in scientific evidence comparing laser bulbs vs LED bulbs for these same goals. You use both, so you could certainly report your personal experience. Lasers were actually used for in-office red light therapy in the 1900's, long before LEDs replaced them. If they were superior, why did NASA go with LEDs? The home device market could just be based on affordability. JOVS is FDA cleared but not FDA approved, which is different. It is a little sneaky of them (on their website graphics) to compare their product to a "red only" mask that was not even FDA cleared. You know yourself, there are quality options in LED panels/masks that are FDA approved and do also include NIR wavelengths . The JOVS may indeed be a better option, but I would like to dive a little deeper.

I think these are good questions. I do use both. I like the coverage of the lumara, there are more lights and that "feels" like it makes a difference. However, I do still wear the JOVS because out of all the masks I have it has the highest wavelengths of all my masks. So whether it is laser or LED, it does have 1064 nm around the eyes and mouth, 850 to smooth forehead wrinkles. It says it has 940 to alleviate skin redness. I don't have a light meter to measure the type of light coming from red light masks so I can't measure where on the mask the higher waves are higher, or if they actually are. Maybe because of your background you would have the equipment to measure.

The difference is that it is a laser and not just red light. There is a reason why this is so much more expensive than Omnilux! It is a laser and not just the red lights. It would have been nice to talk about the difference and what exactly laser means and the benefits versus just red lights.

Thanks for the feedback- I have a Lamara and this one. I will do a comparison. The biggest difference I notice is this one ☝️ with the lasers is not nearly as HOT 🥵 it is much cooler and does not produce nearly as much heat. I’m guessing that is because of the lasers.

How long does the charge last before you have to recharge the mask again? Thank you!

The charge lasts three 20-minute wears and then I charge it again :)

Does this masks also reduce under eye bags?
@YogaLifestylewithMelissa4 ай бұрын
I'm not a medical doctor, but some preliminary searching reveals that: Yes, red light therapy masks can potentially help reduce under-eye bags. Red light therapy works by stimulating collagen production, improving circulation, and reducing inflammation. By increasing collagen and elastin in the skin, it can improve the overall texture and elasticity, which may lead to a reduction in the appearance of under-eye bags. Enhanced circulation can also help reduce puffiness by promoting the drainage of excess fluid in the under-eye area. However, while red light therapy may help, it's important to keep in mind that results can vary depending on the underlying cause of under-eye bags, such as genetics, allergies, or lifestyle factors like sleep and hydration.

Do you have an update on your results with this?
@YogaLifestylewithMelissaАй бұрын
Thanks for asking. I love this mask. I do wear it pretty much every day. I do have 3 masks, because several companies have sent them to me, so it is hard to say which one is giving the results. What I have noticed is that my skin is much smoother and more even in its texture. I also find that I need a lot less product on my face - from makeup to skin care. Because my skin is smoother and has a more even texture, it just doesn't need as much. I love the red light therapy. I do also find it incredibly relaxing. The masks make it easy to integrate into your day. This one has such a nice design and the highest wavelengths of any mask I have. I also love the opening for the eyes, it is easy to see when you are moving around the house!

I have not travelled lately but how on the earth can people bring their shampoo, conditioner & other basics like body lotion, etc. in that tiny bag. I used to go away for 6 weeks at a time, so I could NEVER put my self care products in that bag. Buying travel size containers only works for short trips.

I usually don't speak about the cost of products in videos like this because companies are continually changing their prices. There are several breathing holes around the nose, so that you can breathe, but yes it takes some getting used to.

@@YogaLifestylewithMelissa thanks. It looks fabulous, it really does and they do a 90 day money back guarantee. It’s as you know by no means the most expensive on the market. I’m in UK. I’m not sure where it’s shipped from but I’ve messaged JOVS 💐🥰

Does it actually do anything for the eye area? It seems that the eyes and surrounding area is not even covered with the mask, also any improvements in marionette lines? Thanks
@YogaLifestylewithMelissaАй бұрын
These are good questions. It is supposed to have higher wavelengths 1064nm | Long wave collagen light (Exclusive Core Light) for Eye Wrinkles. But I get what you are saying, the eye opening is pretty big. I've found that red light therapy has improved the smoothness and evenness of my skin. It does appear smoother overall - I find I need way less product (makeup, and I don't exfoliate as often anymore). But deep lines like marionette lines. I do believe I get more results from using my gua sha with that.
