"I'm using volume measurements. *Like an American.*" This is already the most aggressive ice cream tutorial I've ever watched, but I do appreciate that "cup and a half and a bit" are vague and evocative measurements. Wow, ooo ahh. What incredible ice cream!

@aqacefan dry and liquid measures are the same volume, the only difference is liquid measuring cups are designed to minimize spills. You can test this by filling a dry measuring cup with water and pouring it into a liquid measure.

The occurence of a double yolker is 1 in 1000 eggs. The average per capita egg consumption in 1 year (US) is around 280. So once every leap year a double yolker should find its way into a flat of eggs.

So... I'm an american and have never seen castor sugar that I trust to actually be that in a grocery store, so psa that you can make it from granulated by just sticking it in a food processor for like 15 pulses. powdered sugar has just a bit of corn starch that is often great, but not if you just want super fine sugar.

If you crunch your eggshells into powder they make good additions to your flower beds or compost heap. Keeps the snails off, helps de-acidify acidic soils, and it's great for tomatoes because there's a condition they get if there's not enough calcium in the soil, called black end rot.
