I’ve followed you for a few years now and as nosey as I am, I love that you’re not including your kiddos in your videos anymore. I prefer sit down or voiceover videos more, as someone who gets easily overstimulated it’s refreshing! 😊

I am the opposite. I want to see the good parents interact with their children, but I understand how most of them are slowly stepping away from social media leaving the actual family (and not only "mother")-oriented content done only by toxic, selfish and entitled people. So while I accept the sit downs, I much prefer to see the fun memories and both staged and unstaged parts of parenting. However I think the fact that the best people are reducing the content I love the most more and more might be a calling for me to finally have no more excuses to continue consuming KZbin and InstaGram content and forcing me to finally step away from social media and screentime more...

I'm just happy to see youtube parents acknowledge having their children on the internet is dangerous. I will always support family channels who decide for the safety of their children to take them off the channel.
@braria985511 ай бұрын
@@kathleencollins7406 I support them philosophically in that decision but the reality is that I either just watch their content less or try finding more kid-including content and by trying out new channels end up inadvertedly supporting the gross families that treat their children like objects they purchased. Which I mean, yes I probably lived in a huge bubble with only following the best, very respectful parents and I realize why people are speaking up so much against child content when I see someone literally buying a kid and hold them like a trophy. It's disgusting and sad.

I just want to say that I really enjoy watching you, a mom, that is relatable. Your meals aren't always from scratch, there is noise of children in the background and you show those everyday tasks we all do. My goals are also to embrace the discractions of my littles and rest in the Lord. Trust His plan and come to everything in prayer because it is so easy to think we've got everything under control. He has been tugging at me to rest in Him more.

I love that in all these changes, you are saying “we”; having unity with your husband. This is so refreshing to hear see in your life. My prayer for my own family is for unity. Many of my 2024 goals have to be preceded by “I”. Financial stewardship will be a big one for me this year too, especially in effort to honor my husband more. I am also putting work aside with the addition of our third baby. Big adjustments will need to be made! But I know the Lord is drawing me back to where I need to be with my family.

I’ve been memorizing Psalm 119 and verse 37 is and has been my prayer… NKJV and KJV are my two favorite translations. NKJV says “Turn my eyes away from looking at worthless things and revive me in your way.” KJV says “Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity and quicken me in thy way.” I love how ‘worthless things’ and ‘vanity’ are equated as the same in those translations. This has been my heart cry❤.

Such an inspiring video to set goals throughout each year. I share some of your goals such as the ones about our husbands. I also want to encourage you to have a craft hobby. As a SAHM myself I take time to crochet sew or paint. During my daughters naps I’ll read and crochet, and after bedtime I will knit for a few hours then go to bed myself. I’ve learned to crochet pretty fast to finish projects faster in the time I have 😂. With a newborn in the next month I will probably take a break from crafts until I get back into a solid routine

I haven't even started thinking about my 2023 reflection. I still need to learn how to set up my new year goals with the Lord. I have committed the mistake of setting goals for myself without having the Lord at the center of my life, and while I'd work through these goals, I realized how empty they were and got demotivated to set new goals. I really need to start praying more during my goal setting. Thanks for sharing this video. It was so helpful and inspiring to me ❤

Reading more has been a goal of mine for years as well. I've finally gotten into the habit and have read way more the last two months than ever before as an adult. The trick has been reading aloud to my 5 year old. I have enjoyed that so much that I'm finally motivated enough to do it for myself as well! I find reading a couple books at the same time helps too... something lighter and easier for when my brain is tired and then also a heavier read for when I'm not so tired.

Good you mentioned that about repeating patterns and speech of our parents. I was just thinking how I don't like noise but will have to deal with it without telling my kids to be quiet constantly. I remember how my mom shushed me all the time... you get it. But I'll implement quiet times to have a break during the day, to restore my patience a bit 🙂

Great video, thank you for sharing ❤ I would just like to encourage you in your journey of reading the entire Bible. I'm 37 years old and sadly it took me until this year to read it from cover to cover. I used a thematic 1 year plan and I read it in 10 months. I can say there were definitely challenging days and days I missed but caught up at other times. After finishing the Bible, that was it, I was hooked, I can't get enough. I've since read it through again in 33 days and I've just started reading it again for a 3rd time last month. I know we get busy and the days get away from us sometimes. I'm sure I'm no where as busy as you I only have one 2 year old. If I'm not able to complete my reading I'll listen to the audio Bible while I'm cooking, folding laundry, weeding my garden, driving... I have such a hunger for God’s word now I can't imagine going a day without.

Hey Delilah, I don’t have been a mother for as long as you have been, and I too struggle with getting interrupted doing tasks, important and urgent ones and not so important ones. What seems to help me not to get angry and frustrated, is me not having the expectation and the wish to finish in peace or in a timely manner. I don’t always manage to see it that way, but when I do, I can stay more relaxed and can see what really is important. Maybe that helps ;) Love from Germany

I love love love goal making throughout the year and love that you are similar! Your goals at the beginning of the year were so wonderful and I am glad that you are reviewing them. I hope that you are able to be a better steward of your money. Maybe you can look at your goals once a month to see how you are doing on them? I used to do a lot of film photography and all the places that were professional to get the filmed developed at closed. There is one place I could go to but it is 20 minutes away and film is expensive these days. Love that you plan on doing more film photos! I feel the same way about travel. I went on a plane for the first time ever last year, but we always took our kids on little trips for a few days to various states and my kids talk about it a lot. You do a great job in the kitchen already and I hear you. It is hard to do that with babies. I read a LOT. I love motherhood books too. I hope you are able to accomplish all your goals! May you receive the rest you desire too. Kissing is a great goal by the way. Taming the tongue is one I've worked on my whole life. I get you. When I went through life coaching training, it taught me a lot about how I speak. The tongue is a sword for real. Again, awesome! My biggest goal is to become debt free. I was debt free for years and years and covid changed it. I just paid off two things and have the hospital bills from birthing and one more bill to go and then have to pay off my car I had to buy last year (after the one I drove for 11 years died). I can do it!!

I became a first-time mom this year and can relate to feeling frustrated when trying to finish a task and being needed by a little one. It can feel exhausting at times. My goal for 2024 is to be present in each moment. If I am with my daughter be present with her and give her my full attention, and the same for my husband. If he wants my attention give him my attention even when I may be frustrated. My other goal is to ask for help in taking time to rest. I used to be an extravert but I have noticed since becoming a mom that what I crave more than anything is time alone. I need to be able to ask for that time even if that is 10 min.

Being distracted by little voices, being needed by little struggling hearts, being the only source for comfort is tiring, exhausting - but it also means that there ARE little beings in need - when they are gone and grown, there will be so much time to fulfill tasks, be creative but no more holding a little one, no more caressing and comforting - remember when William was in the NICU - your belly and your arms were empty, but the Lord laid him in your arms shortly after this! But this one evening all kids were gone - no distractions! My little distraction is 34, was a preemie and in the incubator for a week - I am thankful he became big and strong and grown up - but often I long to be able to hug my baby - just for a second again and be the world to him! Bless you and your little blessings - you will miss them so much when they are grown up

Practical goal - I am due with baby #2 in Feb and hoping to still be Breastfeeding this time next year. It was a struggle with my first and we only made it 5 months. And while I don't blame myself fully, I know there are things I can do to extend that. Internal goal - shifting my attitude from one that is frustrated and self centered to a servants heart for my family. Everytime I feel myself falling into that head space, turn on a podcast or KZbin, or worship music or read my Bible to help bring me back to where I want to be mentally as a wife and mother.

My biggest goal is to work on my relationship with my husband. Don’t get me wrong, I have a great relationship with him, but I do agree it can always improve and I relate to a lot of the things you said. I need to kiss him more, he is usually the one to randomly kiss me and then I feel sad if he doesn’t for a while. I need to do my part and kiss him too. I also find myself just not talking with the best of intentions. sometimes he’ll say something silly and I correct him in a way that makes him feel dumb, although I don’t mean to, I can tell it hurts him and that hurts me. Or he says something I don’t agree with and I’m quick to jump in and correct him. Something’s are just better left unsaid, and I don’t need to correct him all the time. That’s something I struggle with a lot and I don’t mean in it in a “I’m smarter than you” type of way, but that is how it comes across. I need to work on that. I need to just keep my mouth shut sometimes and let him make the decisions and let him take the lead. I am not the head of the household, he is. I know this but I need to start acting like it. I need to start showing him more love and affection, instead of being upset when I don’t feel loved.
