Sorry to see the Chevy totaled. But other vehicles to consider? I bought my daughter a Ford ZX2 5 speed manual 2.0 dohc and added a small AMR 500 roots supercharger to it. The car plus parts I'm looking at 1k dollars invested. Really surprised by the power it has. We are going for a tune and Dyno pull I will send you the numbers and videos if you want.

Yeah. Sucky. It has to be worth something for the yard to keep it to cover their costs. In this case it would have just kept accruing storage fees at $50 per day and they would have come after me for them.

@@AutoDetour They'd just scrap it, they're going to get paid for the truck recovery by your insurance, plus the storage on that. It was a minor thing, they shouldn't have beat you up on it that bad, you just paid over 600 bucks for a maybe $700.00 trailer? Raw deal, they probably knew it going in, their fault for being greedy and talking you into it. I don't personally know these guys but in my considerable experience with tow services they're slippery snakes always looking for more. They thought they were going to stick it to your insurance company but got you instead.

Sue the owner of the "stolen" car. It's insured and even if it was supposedly stolen they're still liable for it. Bet it was reported stolen after he crashed it drunk.
