Second English Immigrant (The various so called "Ex Pats" can and do come from anywhere, so it is good to know that here we have an English Immigrant living in Thailand and Wendy was another English Immigrant living in Thailand) interview I am watching now This one sees a raw authentic, honest, human story with plenty of grounded insights and perspectives from a very laid back and chilled guy, who seems very sound. Sad tone and situation pertaining now but hopefully things might start to gradually turn around and all of the English/British Irish Immigrants and the various Immigrants from Europe and Faranglands living in Thailand will see a more positive potential stable, secure situation living in Thailand. I keep predicting that it will be 2025 before normality and sanity starts to return but I also keep hoping I am wrong and just maybe there can and will be a turn around sooner. Best wishes to Moley in keeping the dream alive. You just never know. I laughed when he said the joke about being a millionaire in Thailand, as. I had heard many times the same idea and variation of it along the lines of: "How do you make a small fortunate in Thailand? Start with a BIG fortune!" Though possible, it is exceedingly difficult for a Farang to make a good or big success in Thailand, for so many obvious reasons. Being fluent in Thai is often a prerequisite. Luck too is always important and this "Brave New World"- "Covid19-84" madness with all it's accompanying lunacy and sheer insanity has been just really Bad Luck for so many decent people. The various British, Irish Farang Immigrants in general ,who live in Thailand have had a serious wake up call and shock to the base reality of their situation in another people's country. Exceptions are possible and real but Thailand is for Thai people and unless very wealthy, not for Farang immigrants. Thai people be Thai people and take care of Thailand for Thai people, at the end of the day. At least nominally. That is just how it is.
@ThairishTimes3 жыл бұрын
Interesting points again. Expat or immigrant those words never bothered me. Words are just words in the end of the day. Maybe cos I'm Irish and we have a huge history of being immigrants. I also never believe Thailand is for Thais. I believe with hard work, grit, determination and an element of luck people can be successful wherever they are in the world.

@@ThairishTimes That's gas, fair play and thanks very much for letting me know, much appreciated. Yeah the YT censorship is pretty horrendous and creepy. I think that the first paragraph I had literally copied and pasted directly from Wendys own YT bio. Easy to see how my whole post could be misinterpreted and assumptions and projection be made, that is the nature of the medium and internet generally. Nuance, irony, sarcasm, parody and satire easily overlooked or and misunderstood. I have seen and had comments of very innocent sorts deleted and disappeared before. It is a hit and miss thing.
